Bill de Blasio, the Mayor of New York, has announced that later this month only those who’ve been double jabbed will be able to dine inside at restaurants, enter gyms or go to the theatre. The New York Times has more.
New York City will become the first U.S. city to require proof of vaccination for a variety of activities for workers and customers — indoor dining, gyms and performances — to put pressure on people to get vaccinated, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Tuesday morning.
The program, similar to mandates issued in France and Italy last month, will start later this month, and after a transition period, enforcement will begin in mid-September, when schools are expected to reopen and more workers could return to offices in Manhattan.
“It’s time for people to see vaccination as literally necessary to living a good and full and healthy life,” Mr. de Blasio said at a news conference.
“Not everyone is going to agree with this, I understand that,” he said. “But for so many people, this is going to be a lifesaving act, that we are putting a mandate in place that is going to guarantee a much higher level of vaccination in this city. And that is the key to protecting people, and the key to our recovery.”
Mr. de Blasio has been moving aggressively to get more New Yorkers vaccinated to curtail a third wave of coronavirus cases. He is requiring city workers to get vaccinated or to face weekly testing, and he has offered a $100 incentive for the public.
About 66% of adults in the city are fully vaccinated, according to city data, although pockets of the city have lower rates.

Take hospitalisations and deaths from flu back to normal-high levels for this upcoming winter + add new Covid variant that supposedly does not evade vaccines = excuse to ramp up the fear of another full scale lockdown because health services ‘could’ be overwhelmed.
These fraudsters insist that the vaccine does not stop transmission, it only reduces your symptoms so by doing your ‘bit’ you need to take the vaccine, with regular boosters and they’ll claim the only way of verifying this is with the vaccine passport.

I’ve lived in New York on and off for decades. The level of non-compliance will be high enough that everyone will be able to find a restaurant to eat in without any trouble at all.
New Yorkers are not internationally renowned for their compliance with the law. I’m sure that more restaurants will pay their full taxes than will check vax certificates correctly.
That may well be the case, and the same may be true of parts of London when this happens here, but it won’t be true in my straitlaced town. I don’t want to live in a clown world where there are stupid rules that people have to pretend to follow. Anyway, very soon the technology to enforce this stuff much more easily will exist and then we’re cooked. The principle cannot be conceded.

I don’t live in NYC any more, I’m in a relatively straitlaced part of the countryside in England, but, no one has ever checked whether I actually checked in with the NHS App using the QR code. I just say that I did it and they accept that. My guess is that what you’ll have to do is flash a phone screen at them with a picture of the covid pass and that’ll be that.
And for nightclubs, do you seriously believe that the government will raid nightclubs and have the police demanding to see the vax papers of the people in there? Imagine how many votes that they would lose. I mean, it’s possible, but I think that cooler heads will prevail.
What they’ll do is what they’ve done for every measure so far: not much enforcement whilst relying on general compliance.

I am not sure that Biden and the Dems know what effect this is going to have. They rely on the black and hispanic vote, yet the largest percentage of non-vaxed are in these groups. To make a pass mandatory excludes their core vote from ordinary life.

How much do you think Bill de Blasio got for his soul, I can’t help but wonder if he actually hears the words he says when speaking. What exactly is it that he believes that the ‘vaccine’ is protecting people from. Both Pfizer and the Moderna (formerly known as ModeRNA) trials acknowledged that their gene therapy technology has no impact on viral infection or transmission whatsoever. All it’s doing is conveying to the recipient the capacity to produce an S1 spike protein endogenously by the introduction of a synthetic mRNA sequence. Also I personally fail to see how humans who weild power and wealth in order to fulfil their desire for total control over others and with the technology to be able to manipulate others at a genetic level could ever lead to the people “living a good and full and healthy life”. They have wanted vaccine passports for the public since before this pandemic began in fact in the European Commission’s ‘Roadmap on Vaccination – 2018 to 2022’ publication it shows that they wanted them in place by 2022. The implementation of which would be exceedingly hard to justify to the public and resistance would be heavy.
