Travellers to Mexico Discover it’s been ‘Red Listed’ in Mid-Air

by Toby Young
5 August 2021 1:33 PM

MailOnline has a harrowing story about a woman who discovered Mexico has been placed on the red list in mid-air as she was flying to Mexico City yesterday. The only way for her to avoid quarantining for 10 days on her return – and the £1,750 cost of doing so – would be to catch the next flight home. Unfortunately, the cheapest one before Sunday, when Mexico goes on the red list, is £6,878.

Furious British holidaymakers flying to Mexico have revealed how they found out that the country was being moved onto the red list mid-air.

From 4am on Sunday, people returning to the UK from Mexico will have to stay in isolation in a hotel for 10 days.

However, the Government has been slammed for giving only three days’ notice of the change, with the only direct flight from Mexico City to London before Sunday on sale for a staggering £6,878.

Travel agency CEO Paul Charles tweeted after the announcement: “Pity poor #UK travellers in #Mexico – some 5/6,000 who have to somehow get back before hotel quarantine kicks in on Sunday. Certainly not enough seat capacity.”

And holidaymakers have revealed how they found out about Mexico going red at the very last minute.

Claire, 30, from south London, said: “I had access to the Wifi so I found out in mid air.

“I just wanted to grab the tannoy and tell everyone because I could see all these families looking forward to their holiday and it was obvious they didn’t know.

“It’s crazy the lack of notice. I had no inkling Mexico was about to go on the red list.”

Another tweeted: “Landing in Mexico to find out it’s been added to the red list whilst I was up in the air, has got to be one of the worst things I’ve ever experienced.”

Father-of-two David Hing, 40, arrived in Mexico with his wife and children aged four and seven on July 31. They were supposed to stay until August 21 – five days before the travel list is looked at again.

Mr Hing told MailOnline: “We knew the risks and while at the moment it seems like a bad dream and is very stressful and I’ve been up all night looking at alternative options, we are just going to try to enjoy the holiday.

“It broke my heart when my two little ones said they wanted to stay on holiday and would lend us money if we needed it.

“The notice period doesn’t really give long enough to make changes especially when it’s hard to get through and talk to anyone at the airlines.

“The images of the food and hotels do not seem like they are worth the cost so that’s why we are going to try and fly back somewhere else first. I feel sorry for the people who were already on the flight from the U.K. and hope they can make alternative arrangements.”

Worth reading in full.

Stop Press: No holiday is safe, according to MailOnline. Tens of thousands of people started making arrangements to go to France today, after its removal from the ‘amber-plus’ list, but Grant Shapps has warned it could go back on the red list in just three weeks.

Who gives a toss about a few dozen people’s holiday plans being upset?

The government is planning to vaccinate SIXTEEN to EIGHTEEN year olds, without their parents’ knowledge against a virus which is no threat to them, using a “vaccine” which has killed 1 in 31,000 people who have had it in the UK.

That should be the top story, the bottom story, and the story in the middle.

I think you might find that visiting Mexico has far bigger dangers than catching a cold.

On the subject of the government planning to vaccinate SIXTEEN to EIGHTEEN year olds, Anna de Buisseret is in the fight

Well actually I do because people (including you) have a perfect right to go on holiday without having to put up with all this lockdown hysteria.
I’m less sure about your vaccination point but if over 16s can have sex with all the risk that involves then I suppose they can make the choice about vaccination themselves.

Your sex analogy is nonsense. But parental consent to vaccines for the 16+ group isn’t the issue. In fact, it’s highly probable that a majority of parents would pressurize their offspring into having the snake oil.

There’s also the issue of informed consent (which obviously applies to all age groups). The one-sided view being put out by government and the NHS cannot result in informed consent – that can only happen if people go out and research it for themselves, including the risks of side effects and the actual risk which their demographic has from the virus itself.

Correct. It is one-sided thus there is no possibility of informed consent at present. This Canadian link came to light today (under a different article) which is quite useful: https://ocla.ca/a-letter-to-the-unvaccinated/

Sex is natural these still experimental products are not. Sex is a choice to coerce someone to have sex is rape. Young people are being coerced by the Government into taking this experimental product, so the Government is effectively raping the bodies of our young,

Actually, you’re a bit hasty there with the dismissive tone there. Mexico’s el Presidente recently told the CDC and Big Pharma that they can shove their vaccines where the sun don’t shine as they’re coping OK with Ivermectin, thank you very much. This Red list downgrade is a sure sign that all this oppression is coordinated and there is a hit list for those countries that don’t toe the line.

I do rad.
Stories like this are grist to the mill for us lockdown sceptics as this will enrage not just the unfortunate travellers caught out by this nonsense but also the hundreds of thousands of would be travellers who don’t want to suffer the same fate. Hopefully, bit by bit, they’ll start to wake up as to what’s happening and say enough is enough and join our ranks in protest.

It’s a fair point. I suppose as long as people are getting pissed off with the government and starting to question the narrative and motives it doesn’t matter if it’s happening for the wrong reasons.

Some person or persons must have made this decision. I suggest that all those who have been inconvenienced find out who exactly these people are, and sort them out. This is blatant piss-taking and bugger all to do with a ‘virus’.

All people aged 16 or over are considered to have capacity to make their own decisions over medical treatment, mental capacity act 2005. Any decision made by a person aged 16+, irrespective of whether that decision is thought to be in the person’s best interest or not, it should be followed, although legally a 16/17 year old are children under the children act. A 16 year old can obtain the contraceptive pill or the morning after pill without parental consent. The contraceptive pill increases the risk of DVT, which I doubt is pointed out when it is prescribed. If you have any regular medication from your GP, are you told the possible side effects? If you looked in the BNF for side effects you wouldn’t take any medication, even over the counter preparations.

I do not consent.

And those (the majority of their customers?) with the auto imprisonment app are likely to be sent into isolation at any moment. Bye bye customer for at least 10 days when they might get pinged again if someone else in the street has pinged or ponged, dinged or donged or whatever maybe ‘forever’. Jeez!

There are quite a number of hotels in and around London which aren’t ratholes and cost rather less for 10 days, even if food (edible stuff, not quarantine fare) has also to be paid for.

I think that the £2285 over 10 days probably breaks down to about £200 for the room and the hotel, about the same for the slop, and the rest is security guards and bunts for the hotel, and the government eminences grises. Not sure if a stick or two up the snout and down the epiglottis is included in aforesaid Shapps Ransom.

‘Enforcement’ by gangs of cowardly, anti-social thugs in hi-vis, that is what would happen.

Have you seen the video of the woman in New Zealand who was quarantined on return to that country? She refused to fill in some form or another or refused consent to some procedure or another, as was her inalienable right, and was placed in what was effectively solitary confinement, without food. Her quarantine period was extended in addition, and when, upon her release, she talked to staff and security at the hotel, very few knew she was there, although some had heard rumours.

That’s what will happen if you value liberty and personal autonomy.

They haven’t got a clue where you’ve been, other than the stamps. The screen is a standalone database that indicates whether you (or precisely someone with your name and dob) is wanted for terrorism, Interpol, people trafficking, deportation etc
It also checks your passport number (and visa number if applicable) to check it’s not been withdrawn or stolen.

Every time he places a country on the naughty step he is enraging thousands of his voters. To what end? This is exactly why I’m not travelling or holidaying anywhere until this nonsense has dies down. Who wants to spend hours trying to get on a plane without really knowing what’s going to happen at the other end, then spend a week or two anxiously glued to the news to find out whether you’ve suddenly got to find a flight home along with thousands of others, then assuming all goes well still have to pay a fortune for tests? I genuinely sympathise with these people because it must be a nightmare, but is it really worth all this grief just to go on holiday? You’d have to be stark raving mad.

Shapps it appears is the new Matt Hancock a bumped up idiot despot who revels in the pleasure of causing unhappiness and distress. I hope he experiences at least a similar fall from grace as that of Wancock

Stop complying. Stop moaning. Start fighting. Don’t ever wear masks. “Exempt”. I always insist (politely) on others removing their masks for me (Hard of hearing) – they have to by law. See what’s happening in Australia. It’s coming here soon if we don’t stop it now. Don’t ever stop using problematic stores, services or businesses. Use them more often! Any problems – Complain directly to the manager in person (maskless of course) – then send letters to head office – don’t give in to negativity. FIGHT. BACK. BETTER. Yes britain followed the orders of their master and changed Mexico to a red country with No explanation. Mexico is using ivermectin with great success. Also their president stated he would not vaccinate children😂😂. A Covid hero. He will now be punished for his decision. They are making sure of that. I would go to Mexico in a heartbeat💕💕💕💕
