The Vaccine Roll-Out Was Based on Safetyism, Not Science

Many people – including some world leaders – see the vaccines as a way to ensure that nobody ever has to get COVID. But this view is based more on safetyism than on science. And ironically, it’s causing real harm.

3 min read

In a poll of experts taken by Nature earlier this year, only 6% said it was “unlikely” or “very unlikely” that SARS-CoV-2 will become endemic. By contrast, 89% said this was “likely” or “very likely”.

As Professor Francois Balloux has observed: “Eventually, Covid will become endemic everywhere in the world… claims about indefinite elimination are just empty slogans.”

This means the virus will continue to circulate for the foreseeable future, and most of us will catch it several times during our lives. In fact, it may become one that we first encounter in childhood, leading to immunity that lasts years or decades.

Covid, in other words, is here to stay. And unless more powerful vaccines are developed in the future, permanently suppressing transmission via vaccination is unlikely to work, let alone pass a cost-benefit test.

As the Great Barrington Declaration authors have argued, vaccines are best seen as a means of achieving focused protection against Covid. By vaccinating the elderly and clinically vulnerable, we have turned what – for many of those people – could have been a life-threatening illness, into something much less harmful.

However, since the start of the vaccine rollout, numerous people – including some world leaders – have taken a rather different view of the vaccines. For these individuals, the vaccines are a way of ‘crushing the curve’, and thereby ensuring that nobody ever has to get Covid.

But this view is based more on safetyism than on science. And ironically, it’s causing real harm. How so?

First, safetyism has led to the belief that everyone needs to get vaccinated, regardless of age. This is why the Government is proceeding with vaccination of 12-15 year olds, against the better judgement of its own expert panel. Yet as I and others have argued, a far better course of action would be donating those vaccines to poor countries.

Second, safetyism has led to the belief that everyone needs to get vaccinated, even if they’ve already been infected. Yet evidence suggests that people with natural immunity have better protection against infection than recipients of the Pfizer vaccine.

As Professor Marty Makary notes in a recent article for the Washington Post: “If we had asked Americans who were already protected by natural immunity to step aside in the vaccine line, tens of thousands of lives could have been saved.”

Third, safetyism has led to the belief that we need to roll out booster shots because vaccine-induced immunity wanes rapidly. So far, however, this is only true of immunity against infection; immunity against severe disease appears to hold up well.

In a recent Lancet article, Philip Krause and colleagues argue there is not yet any need for boosters, which could cause adverse reactions if administered too soon or too frequently. They point out that vaccines “will save the most lives if made available to people who are at appreciable risk of serious disease and have not yet received any vaccine”.

Fourth, safetyism has led to the belief that people should be strong-armed into getting vaccinated by means of passports and mandates, rather than persuaded. Although coercive measures may increase vaccine uptake, they risk undermining trust in government and the healthcare system.

What’s more, vaccine passports could have unintended consequences. If vulnerable people are led to believe – wrongly – that the vaccines have strong efficacy against infection, they might take more risks than they otherwise would.

A vaccine roll-out based on science – not safetyism – would have recognised that not everyone needs to be vaccinated. It would have assigned leftover vaccines to people that actually need them. And it would have eschewed coercive measures, in favour of transparency about the risks and benefits.

Surely what is needed is a simple, accurate test for immunity. PCR tests as currently carried out are more likely to result in immune people testing positive due to small residues of inactive virus, and this is why infection rates as reported are inaccurately overstated. This could save large quantities of vaccine, not in the interest of the big pharma companies making big profits from it, so they will make sure it doesn’t happen. There seems to be very little evidence that booster jabs are effective and vaccinating 12-15 year old children is pointless, so who is running our country? !t seems the large pharma companies are calling the shots and because governments don’t include any competent scientists they fall in line either through corruption or ignorance with whatever they say. This virus has highlighted the need for top scientists to be part of government and given a major part of government with a committee of scientific colleagues covering the range of scientific opinion, so the correct action can be taken. Its obvious the current SAGE committee is not fit for purpose and the country in general has little confidence in the current crop of chief medical officers who seem… Read more »

After all this time, of course there should be a simple test for immunity. As there should be a simple, non invasive and more accurate test than the not-fit-for-purpose PCR. But why should such things be developed when the objective is to make people afraid and to suffer indignities, not to improve public health? This is about control, not well being.

A vaccine with minimal safety and efficacy data was rolled out. 15,000 and counting now dead due to the vaxx in the USA. Thousands of serious adverse events.why on earth would anyone take an experimental biological like this? Why would anyone even consider giving their spare doses to a poorer country? They don’t want them.

“In Melbourne, Australia, the fury over vaccine mandates is explodingThe Australian state of Victoria, the capital of which is Melbourne, Australia’s second-largest city, has seen some of the world’s most draconian COVID rules.  The latest order, mandating vaccines for the construction industry along with a two-week industry-wide shutdown, sparked huge, violent protests from trade unions.  Most strikingly, union members turned against their own union boss.”

This is what these insane, draconian measures to force people to get vaccinated, and to suppress an unsuppressable virus leads to: violence and social breakdown. I’m just surprised it hasn’t happened earlier in Australia.

It’s hard to see how circum-navigating all established safety protocols and suppressing the use of proven safe alternatives to authorise novel drugs then, once said drugs have shown themselves beyond reasonnable doubt to be extremely dangerous and counter productive in their claimed safety aim, coercing people to take them without any form of risk assessment can reasonnably be described as ‘safetyism.’ It’s time to stop clinging to naive theories that this is all just a big mistakes and face facts that there are extremely malicious agenda at play.

They changed the setting to display upticks and downticks separately. So instead of seeing the aggregate total you see both. And because normally I suspect there are many more upticks than down, the most obvious effect of the change is that you see a lot more downticks.

Previously most of those downticks would have been hidden by being aggregated into an overall positive number of upticks.

“Safetyism” is a word you’ve made up so you don’t have to confront the idea that a massive and coordinated power grab is going on that has been planned way in advance of this “pandemic” and is using it as a pretext to implement it.

Agenda 2030 and the Great Reset is what this is about. Get with the program and stop making up silly words like “safetyism” and “cockupspiracy” so you can live in some fantasy of going “back to normal”. It isn’t going to happen.

The EU have planned vaccine passports for years before the pandemic and were due to roll them out at exactly this moment. Is that “safetyism”, or is it something else?

Safetyism isn’t a term TY has invented and it’s a real phenomenon. The mistake made here is to attribute the govts motivation to it, whereas the role played by safetyism is in fact to enable dishonest tyranny by using safety as a cover.

There is an element in the shit-show that is to do with ‘safetyism’ – i.e. playing on irrational and disproportionate Fear – even if it’s not the whole story.

The interesting thing in that context is how this becomes a contradiction of itself (even if sincerely meant – like keeping children away from bacteria). You end up with a cure that is more poisonous and harmful than the disease.

This contradiction is vivid in the case of the moderate infection that is SARS-Cov-2.

Yet another article exposing the Daily Sceptic’s true Establishment colours, shamelessly running to the defense of the enemies of humanity, desperately trying to persuade people they mean no harm. It’s actually getting quite pathetic. What is wrong with you people? The UK is being destroyed from within, they are literally steering us into some kind of CCP inspired Orwellian/technocratic/fascist nightmare, they are provably carrying out a genocide of your fellow countrymen, and they are doing all of this in the name of a virus which is no more deadly than the common flu and which if there was no headlines, people would not even comment on its existence because it is not noticeable.

Here are some good articles exposing HMG’s crimes from earlier in the scamdemic. Some of the info is a bit dated but there is some crucial to understand pieces in here exposing the crimes like changing the laws on death certificate registration to facilitate death cert forgery and the disgraceful psychological warfare tactics they have waged on the British people. All cockup of course, if you believe in the liars and deceivers who run this site.

Permanence is the illusion of every age. The structural changes that have taken place in the health and financial systems and in the relationship between states and citizens are going to force a very dark age upon us which we’re all going to have to adapt to or perish.

And when it happens you’re going to read on DS that is was all part of some hubristic “cock-up”.

Good old Noah, still avoiding the underlying truth about the ‘vaccines’ (which aren’t) : ARR ~1%.

I appreciate he’s not in favour of the roll-out and coercion But, Noah : “COVID, in other words, is here to stay.”

… and that is no big deal, and never was, judged by real and historical mortality. Certainly not enough to induce the incontinent panic and control that we’ve seen , and getting less of a problem – except for ‘vaccine’ effects.

For vaccine fanatics : Remember that we have lived with influenza and their pretty ineffective vaccines for years and years.

Just been on a call with some people from work. The conversation got onto ‘boosters’. All said they couldn’t wait. I said that I didn’t think it was necessary, at least yet; I would wait and see how it mutated. One said, ‘I’ve had Covid once and it was horrible. I don’t want it again’. Others agreed.

Even if you believe that the vaccine is, on balance, the better option for older people (most on the call were over 50), it must be clear that, at best, it mimics one infection and prepares the body’s defences to fight another one. If someone has already had a bad dose, they probably didn’t need the first round of vaccinations and the risk/ benefit balance for the ‘booster’ must be tipped in favour of risk for all but the oldest and most immune suppressed. The idea that, if they don’t have the ‘booster’, they will get another infection as bad as the first is surely nonsense. These are not stupid people; most have degrees (from the days when they meant something) and all work in a management/ administrative capacity in a scientific organisation. It is based on safetyism, but it’s a very particular sort of safetyism. After all, there have been serious events in the vaccine rollout that would have caused it to be halted if we were being safetyist in a slightly different way. I.e. the 2 young and 1 middle aged man in Japan who died due to a “contaminated batch” of moderna vaccines would have in normal times led to the pause of the vaccine rollout in all but the most at-risk groups whilst a full investigation of how contaminants crept in was conducted. This would likely have happened at least in Japan, but most likely other industrialised countries would have followed suit.

The recent ONS figures that disingenuously implied that the vaccine is 99% effective in preventing deaths are downright dangerous. If you think that your odds of dying have been reduced by a factor of 100, you may very well behave differently than if you think that your odds of death have been reduced by a factor of 8.
A thought experiment could be, let’s say that you have a child who caught covid and needs to stay at home, but you need to go to work. If you think that the vaccines reduce the risk by 100x (99% efficacy), then you might invite your vaccinated parents over to babysit. Whereas, if you believe that the vaccine reduces risk by a factor of 8 (about 88% efficacy), you might decide that the risk is still too high.
There’s a world of difference between “over 99% efficacy” and “88% efficacy”.
Dishonesty, such as the recent ONS figures, could very well cost lives.

The “cure” for Coronavirus is blindingly simple and it is easy and free and anyone can do it – my free salt water cure: I simply don’t understand why people get herded into taking vaccines which don’t work, according to my betters, however this is the Covid Crusher which would stop this Covid Pandemic dead, if everyone practiced it and it is free, from me:
The Achilles Heel of Coronavirus, is while it is still in the developing stage as Coronavirus/Covid in the warm, wet areas inside the nasal passages of your head (nose) and before it gets to become Covid in your head and lungs, 10 to 14 days later. If Coronavirus is not treated with my free iodine salt clean water cure to flush out your nasal passages, as soon as possible, or during self isolation, it becomes Covid, which is where the money is. You cannot catch Covid! Always breathe through your nose and keep your mouth shut, because you really don’t want the Coronavirus to seed itself in your lungs!! The vaccines are deliberate “Kill Shots”: Vaccines Are Kill Shots and now they are putting them in kids from 6 months old up: Dangers of Booster Shots and COVID-19 ‘Vaccines’: Boosting Blood Clots and Leaky Vessels
New discoveries in the immunology of SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 vaccines

What happens inside your body after injection with gene-based COVID-19 vaccines? How does this new ‘vaccination’ technology differ from usual vaccination methods, and why is that dangerous?

In this document, we answer all those questions and more, based on the latest and best available science. We explain how several papers in 2021 significantly advanced our understanding of SARS-CoV-2 immunity, and therefore the science and safety of COVID-19 vaccines.

Unfortunately, as the COVID-19 vaccination programme has followed a policy of ‘vaccinate first – research later’, our understanding of SARS-CoV-2 immunity has only recently caught up with the rushed vaccination schedule.

Given that no clinical trials involved more than two injections of any vaccine, it is important that doctors and patients understand where the latest science leaves us in terms of how the vaccines interact with the immune system, and the implications for booster shots.

We explain here that booster shots are uniquely dangerous, in a… Read more »

I think most people’s understanding is that once you’ve been jabbed you’re very very unlikely to get or pass on whatever you’ve been jabbed against. That’s not the case with the “vaccines” for covid.

You can argue the covid vaccines might display some vaccine like effects, though it’s hard to tell what they are, but the mass vaxxing of healthy people has been done off the back of what people think the vaxxes will do, not what they actually do.

So in the context of the mass vaxxing of the healthy, it’s a blatant lie to sell them as vaccines, and is in fact evil.

The normal meaning of “vaccinate”, that is familiar to most people, is to expose the immune system to the pathogen or something like it, to trigger a response that will protect when in the future the real thing is encountered.

It’s a familiar term that reassures by that familiarity, to most.

These experimental new gene therapy-based techniques do not “vaccinate” in that sense. They do not trigger a normal immune response by just exposing you to something similar to the pathogen, they manipulate your cells to produce something (a protein) which then triggers an immune response.

If we were simply in a situation of honest communication without any intent to manipulate, they would not be referred to just as “vaccines”. They would either be referred to by some completely new term, or by a qualified reference to vaccination to reflect similarity but not identity – something like “gene therapy-based vaccines”.

But the various interested parties wanted to manipulate people into accepting these new experimental treatments, and to avoid their being classed as gene therapy for regulatory purposes, so they were dishonestly identified as plain, familiar “vaccines”.

Pfizer , in their US EUA to the FDA refereed to them , according to a paper which Dr David Martin read from in one of his revelatory interviews, as a gene editing therapy.

If Pfizer refer to “it” as such, then out of courtesy and politeness as well as deference to their undoubted superior knowledge, “we” should do the same.

I think it’s helpful to remember that the virus, one of many coronaviruses, has been named SARS-Cov-2, not COVID or COVID-19.

Our immune systems are highly likely to already have a handle on how to deal with exposure to this virus. It’s only a tiny minority whose, due to age and/or existing illness/disease, immune systems struggle to crush infection efficiently. Becoming severely ill with the disease the virus causes – COVID-19 – is rare. Dying with COVID-19 being the only cause of death is even rarer.

As John Ioannidis has said since day 1 of this pandemic, the only cure for a virus is the virus itself. Governments cannot control it.

In other words, either through exposure and infection (with T Cells learning what the virus looks like and how to deal with it going forward), or through a vaccine that contains the virus, can a virus be dealt with efficiently.

The plan (or cock-up) has been touted from the earliest days; lock up the young, the fit, the healthy, kick the can down the road, prevent a firebreak of infections in those who can easily deal with it (dismissed as “letting it rip”), and use vaccines as the passport… Read more »

100%. I’ve argued that the fact that there is, for most countries, only a small excess death rate, and the age distribution of deaths is the same as that for all-cause deaths, means that people who died of C19 would have died of something else (and this point is independent of the of/with debate). So we really did not need to to anything much, and certainly not after John Ioannidis established that the IFR would be around 0.2%.

A couple of issues.

more powerful vaccines

This is the language of mumbo-jumbo propaganda. It plays into the saviour myth that vaccines are somehow hanging around serving guard duty, little muscular soldiers defending our cells.

All that any vaccine does is to give our own immune systems something to practice on. Vaccines can produce a more specific immune response, they cannot be more “powerful”.

Second, at this point I despair that anyone who has been following the politics as well as the science is still naïve enough to accept that the response to SARS-COV-2 has been based on safety, or health.

If you’re not calling it COVID-1984 at this point, then you’re fighting the wrong battle on the wrong front.

No, Mr Carl, it has nothing to do with safety or “safetyism.” Children who were never going to get ill from Covid-19 – let alone die – are going to be murdered by NHS staff operating under orders from Chris Whitty, England’s purported chief medical officer. It doesn’t really need to be stated here, but there is nothing “safe” about murdering children.

It is about politics. 100% politics. It has nothing to do with science or “safetyism” and anyone deluded enough to still think it is should not be writing articles for this site.

When police forces around the world are dressing up in Robocop gear and beating up old women in order to encourage them to take some medicine for an illness similar to flu – a Neo-Naziesque outrage our “liberal” media seem quite happy to ignore – then it becomes very apparent we are heading toward a globally organised fascist state.
