Australia's decision to field a Covid-positive cricketer at the Commonwealth Games has sparked claims of hypocrisy given the country's hard line on lockdowns and its decision to deport Novak Djokovic over the vaccine.
Novak Djokovic will not be allowed to play in the U.S. Open in August due to his declining the COVID-19 vaccine – an unhappy reminder that the U.S. continues to discriminate ruthlessly against unvaccinated visitors.
U.S. tennis legend John McEnroe has led calls for President Joe Biden to ease the “ridiculous” Covid ban on unvaccinated people entering the country to allow Novak Djokovic to compete at the U.S. open.
Novak Djokovic will be free to defend his Wimbledon title after the All England Club confirmed Covid vaccinations will not be needed to compete in this year's Championships. He will also be allowed to play in Paris.
