The Health Secretary has doubled down on the ‘no jab no job’ policy for care home workers, following reports that more than half of care homes could be forced to sack staff because of the rule, saying that those who refuse to get vaccinated against Covid should “get out and get another job”. Dismissing the views of those who have chosen not to get vaccinated, he said ‘refuseniks’ simply “cannot be bothered” to join in with the roll-out. The Telegraph has the story.
The Health Secretary said he is not prepared to “pause” the requirement for care home staff to be fully-vaccinated by November 11th, amid concerns significant numbers of staff are reluctant to receive the vaccine.
The Government announced their decision to make vaccination compulsory for care home workers in August, a controversial move that sector and union leaders warned could lead to a “mass exodus” of staff.
Mr. Javid told the BBC Radio 4 Today programme: “If you work in a care home you are working with some of the most vulnerable people in our country and if you cannot be bothered to go and get vaccinated, then get out and go and get another job.”
He added: “If you want to look after them [care home residents], if you want to cook for them, if you want to feed them, if you want to put them to bed, then you should get vaccinated. If you are not going to get vaccinated then why are you working in care?”
Christina McAnea, Unison’s General Secretary, said: “Vaccination remains the way out of the pandemic. But coercing and bullying people can never be the right approach.”
Boris Johnson has defended the move, saying it was “only reasonable” to expect workers in a position of care to be vaccinated.
The Prime Minister said: “I think that it’s only reasonable to expect people who are entrusted with the care of elderly and vulnerable people to be inoculated against a disease which is particularly harmful to elderly and vulnerable people.”

Javids words if you want to cook, for them, feed, them, put them to bed. I note he makes no mention of take them to the toilet, wash them, clean them up. As I recall, I’ve only ever had one post moderated on this site. A few months back when Johnson and Hancock announced this disgusting policy I used a four-letter word to describe them, and suggested that through history people had been hung, drawn and quartered for far less crimes than these two were committing.
The post was taken down for the four-letter word. And when I reposted without that word it was taken down again for the hung, drawn and quartered allusion.
Good to see that word used many times here, and the same sentiments concerning historical punishments. And no moderation.

What an appalling state of affairs. No care home worker was threatened with the sack if they chose not to get the yearly flu. It seems to me if you look a little deeper that this Government, working for the eugenicists, are looking to kill all the vulnerable and their carers. Jab done, job done. No need for care homes. Next year the hospitals and the nurses.
What about care home residents who would prefer to be looked after by “unvaccinated” people? And come to think of it, what about people who are getting paid for looking after frail family members? Will they be affected?

I used to adnire Sajid but he managed to get captured by the health establishment within a week of taking office.
He is suppposed to challenge them and lead them – he might be well advised to read the pieces on this website about the (lack of) vaccine efficacy against getting the disease.
And I think I read the other day a peer reviewed academic paper is shortly to make the same point but with the addition of the failure to reduce the risk of passing the disease on

This makes me wonder about other jabs, like my mother Oct 2017 who had her flu jab, was talking about christmas then had a heart attack 2 weeks later, the year of excess deaths, my uncle and SIL both had covid jabs then a few weeks later, uncle died with a stroke SIL, who had dementia died soon after getting her jab. All very depressing.
Not only depressing but very sad.
