The Spectator is offering Daily Sceptic readers 25% off tickets to its upcoming Net Zero debate in London, ‘Bin it or back it?’, where Kathryn Porter and Richard Tice will go head-to-head with the climate alarmists.

Here’s the event blurb:

For nearly two decades, Net Zero has sat at the heart of Britain’s policy agenda. Once framed as a clear moral imperative, it saw political parties promising to slash carbon emissions and ministers racing to position the UK as a leader on the international stage. But as economic pressures and global instability mount, that consensus is beginning to fray.

Recent shocks – from the pandemic to war-driven energy crises – have exposed the fragility of supply chains and the risks of overreliance on external energy sources. While renewables like wind and solar can supplement carbon fuels, they also raise questions around cost, subsidy and reliability. At the same time, drilling for oil in the North Sea is penalised. So where does this leave Britain? As a relatively small contributor to global emissions, is the UK leading the way in adopting Net Zero – or putting its own economic resilience at risk?

Join the Spectator on May 20th for a timely debate, which will see Richard Tice MP and energy expert Kathryn Porter go up against Bob Ward, of the influential Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, and Shahrar Ali, former deputy leader of the Green party. The Spectator’s Assistant Editor, Isabel Hardman, will chair.

The debate takes place on Wednesday May 20th at the Emmanuel Centre in London. To claim your 25% off use the discount code DS25 at the checkout. Book here.

Why is there no option for remote access for those of us not London-centric, who have to add on the extortionate railway costs and the hassle of travelling?

It seems somewhat discriminatory toward your loyal northern and southwestern supporters.

Kathryn Porter is really good. She should wipe the floor with the green lefty asses.
Global warming is bullshine. Always has been.

Kathryn Porter is excellent on Energy supply, but is rather more ambivalent on CO2 and whether it causes Global Warming.

Likewise, Richard Tice will be excellent outlining the harms to industry caused by NZ, but he won’t be able to make the case for ignoring CO2, which on balance is beneficial.

I have no desire to visit the cesspit that’s our supposed capital. Equally, as a pensioner on limited means, I can think of better ways of spending my cash than an extortionate train ticket and hotel to attend a function there. Try getting a venue in the middle of the country (Birmingham or Manchester) rather than expecting people to head to London.

I don’t disagree with you at all, Birmingham is a bigger cesspit than London, if that’s possible, but my suggestion is based on places well on the outskirts of the city, that don’t require actually going in to the town.

The Loughborough University site has plenty of rooms and lecture theatres that could be used, as well as easy access to road and rail links.

But my guess is they wouldn’t dare to put on this event.

Why London? Ever thought of a roadshow?
Sod London quite frankly, myself and many others will never visit the place again, so diversify your venues! London is not Britain!!
London wants walling up and floating off into the Channel…

Well said. Surely these people – that are supposedly fighting for their country – know that their country is not found in London? But this is the problem with the metropolitan set, they enjoy taking their poison in a theatre, whilst wearing their finest suit.
