Scotland to Extend Pandemic Restrictions Including Mask Mandates and Vaccine Passports for Further Six Months

2 min read

Inspired perhaps by Boris Johnson’s announcement of the approaching end of pandemic restrictions in England, the Scottish Government has said its Covid powers are to be extended for a further six months. The current restrictions in Scotland cover self-isolation, mask mandates, vaccine passports and a requirement for businesses and services to take steps to minimise the spread of the virus. BBC News has more.

Legislation mandating face coverings and vaccine passports was due to expire on February 28th.

However, this looks set to be pushed back to September 24th, with Deputy First Minister John Swinney saying it was important to keep options on the table.

Scottish ministers will continue to assess the rules every three weeks, with the next review on February 22nd.

The move came hours after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that the end date for restrictions in England could be brought forward to later this month.

England’s restrictions, including the legal requirement for self-isolation, are due to expire on March 24th – but Mr Johnson said this could happen “a full month early”. …

Mr Swinney stressed that this did not mean curbs “would necessarily remain in force until September”, and that they would continue to be reviewed on a three-weekly basis.

However, the Deputy First Minister said ministers “believe it is necessary to retain the availability of these baseline measures for now while we review our ongoing response to Covid”.

Mr. Swinney also questioned whether Mr. Johnson’s announcement was based on clinical advice or was “more to do with the survivability of the current Prime Minister in office”.

Supreme Leader Nic Sturge-on claimed “basic protections” had helped get the virus under control and could help keep it under control in future. However, with recent meta-analyses of the effectiveness of lockdowns and face masks finding little or no benefit, and a woeful lack of real-world data that vaccine passports reduce transmission, it’s not clear what evidence she was relying on for these claims.

Worth reading in full.

As in Wales and Northern Ireland, Scotland’ s SNP leaders are just trying to prove that they don’t need or want England.
If it wasn’t Covid, it would be something else.

Why does Sturgeon have to keep proving to us that she is stupid (and not a little evil).
The 3rd rate 1st minister and “experts” in Wales will also see that we continue with their pointless and damaging policies. Following The Science(tm) Drip Drakeford calls it. Time he followed Science. Pathetic man.

I just saw a bit of Jeremy Vine on Channel 5 or whetever side it’s on. There was a woman from Scotland phoning in, saying she was worried about the restrictions being lifted . Pants-pisser.

It’s… lonely up here. Nearly everybody else is still muzzled. The few exceptions are either obvious New Britons, or knuckle dragging neds, i.e. groups that have never cared about laws.

I hope, forlornly, that the latest lunatic announcement will result in a touch more disobedience, but hope is not a strategy. All I can do it so smile, literally, at the muzzled cultists.

Eh, I’m not muzzled and I do not believe I am in either of your muzzled categories. I am also reassured that, particularly in larger population centres, there are increasing numbers of unmasked individuals, albeit far fewer than I would like to see. Nevertheless it is moving in the right direction and it is also very clear that most people are now in the “we can’t go on like this'” category; however it is equally true that people are insufficiently courageous to do what they want to do. Scotland the brave (not!).

I’ll try and take heart from that. I’ve not been into Glasgow Toon for the best part of two years.

>”it is also very clear that most people are now in the “we can’t go on like this’” category”

With respect, I don’t think that’s clear at all. From what I’m seeing in the suburbs and on Failbook and Twatter, far more Scotch are demanding more, harder and longer than are kicking against the pricks.

I very much hope to be wrong about that, but I’m just not seeing the evidence.

The headline here is misleading.

It could get interesting if a big gulf opens up regarding the rules for “vaccine” refusers who enter or return to Britain from abroad.

Scottish nationalism is based on having a huge chip on the shoulder with regard to the hated English, especially those who think tartan is bad taste. But if the local government in Edinburgh says that when you get back from Ibiza or Torremolinos you’ll have to lock yourself up, whereas the London government says you can do whatever you want, that won’t be good for the SNP’s “blame the English b******s for everything” approach. Sure, many SNPniks will think of 5 reasons the English are to blame, without even raising their little fingers, but I mean at the margin…among “floating voters” and “flaky Unionists”.

Westminster needs to block any attempt to extend these ‘emergency’ powers. There is no devolved power to run a tyranny; with the disappearance of the medical emergency argument ( as evidenced by Westminster declaring it over) surely her power grab would be ultra vires? I do not believe the majority support her ludicrous restrictions, as evidenced by the views of my friends and family.

How many real Scots remain in Scotland? Hasn’t the Scottish population been deliberately watered down by immigration from third world countries? Scottish universities filled with Chinese – for the Chinese Social Credit Score system, first import a sizeable chunk of the Chinese population…

How about sending an e-mail to your local Scottish MP? Has anybody had that idea before? Should do the trick!

Surely after almost 2 years people can see that there is not, and never has been, any ‘pandemic’. People living in Scotland have had all this time to sort themselves out – if they really believe in ‘democracy’ then they’d just best accept that the majority want to keep wearing face masks and taking ‘vaccines’ for ever and ever and ever.

Appeasing the EU and its Globalist masters Sturgeon still thinks Scotalnd can join alone, LOL, they already have a few Greece’s they don’t want another one, give them their independence no strings attached no English money let it crash.
This is what happens when public sector emplyment gets out of hand the government own you and you comply through no choice, a controlled population.
Let the SNP drive it into the ground, only then will they “get it”.

She did want the extension of these powers to be permanent so this is a climb down of sorts. Perhaps the Greens, who are keeping her minority government in power, are becoming increasingly nervous of her dictatorial nastiness.

In 15 years of power this nonentity political party has failed to attract a single major manufacturer into Scotland, despite having an abundance of cheap labour, cheap land, some of the best deepwater ports in the world, and air and road links to the rest of the world on a par with anywhere else in the world.

Tens of thousands of jobs have been promised in the renewables sector over the years yet only a couple of thousand have materialised. Yet the beautiful Scottish countryside is contaminated with wind turbines. Crossing the border from England into Scotland is like entering some dystopian nightmare.

More than ten billion pounds annually in subsidies across the UK for these worthless pieces of junk which are promised to deliver clean, cheap electricity, but which delivers neither.

These are the crime against Scottish humanity Sturgeon and the rest of her cronies ought to be put on trial for.

More bad news!

Samantha Jones, an admirer of Gates and Christine Lagarde, currently his NHS and Social Care ( disaster area) ‘adviser’, 15 years heading NHS Trusts ( one with ‘issues’ ) is now to be Johnson’s new Permanent Secretary…..so yet another, Public Sector, Wokist, Leftist, WEF, Great Reset Advocate – another Carrie Choice?

So it looks like Johnson will be joining Sturgeon again soon as he follows another “non-conservative” Globalist woman’s ‘advice’ on the shortest path to hell!

Could there be a worse appointment? Wherever is he taking us or himself?

The Johnson decision is entirely political. Because there is no proper science supporting any of the decisions which have been made up until now.

Doesn’t mean that it’s not right, however….

In 65 years I think I have had influenza once. You may “encounter” covid but the chances of you suffering from it are likely no worse than the chances of suffering from flu.

A study was recently conducted on a group of people by squirting the covid virus directly up their nose, less than 50% displayed symptoms.

I spent the best part of six months in hospital undergoing four major surgeries between Sept 2020 and Feb. 2021. I’m unjabbed, unmasked and non socially distanced and not only did I not contract it when I was at my most vulnerable, I saw no sign of anyone else with it.

We have all been utterly hoodwinked by our governments. For what reason I don’t quite understand but it hasn’t just been incompetence, something is going on.

I’m the last person to believe in conspiracies of population control etc. but it’s very difficult to resist reaching those conclusions now.
