The GMB Union has hit back against the prospect of care home workers being forced to take Covid vaccines. Rachel Harrison, GMB National Officer, says the Government doesn’t have “the foggiest idea or concern about the impact their decisions make on a workforce already suffering from many of the worst political failures during the pandemic”. The union has warned that more than a third of its members in social care would consider quitting if vaccines are mandated.

GMB said that the move, which is being considered by the Government, was an attempt to “strongarm” care workers into taking the jab.
Under the plans, care home staff in England who work with older people would be required to get the jab or risk losing their jobs. They will reportedly have 16 weeks to get vaccinated.
One in six care workers – around 52,000 – have not had the vaccine despite being eligible.
Rachel Harrison said: “Carers have been at the forefront of this pandemic, risking their lives to keep our loved ones safe, often enduring almost Victorian working standards in the process.
“The Government could do a lot to help them: address their pay, terms and conditions, increasing the rate of and access to contractual sick pay, banning zero hours, and ensuring more mobile NHS vaccination teams so those working night shifts can get the jab,” she said.
“Instead, ministers are ploughing ahead with plans to strongarm care workers into taking the vaccine without taking seriously the massive blocks these workers still face in getting jabbed.”
Unison General Secretary Christina McAnea said that “encouragement achieves better results with the nervous than threats or coercion”.
“The Government’s sledgehammer approach now runs the risk that some care staff may simply walk away from an already understaffed, undervalued and underpaid sector,” she said.
On Tuesday morning, Cabinet minister Liz Truss insisted that the Government had not yet committed to the plans, saying that officials were “currently consulting on this issue” but that a decision would be “very imminent”. The Government have refused to rule out the move.
However, Ms Truss said it was “incredibly important” for care home staff to be vaccinated. …
The Government is also planning a consultation on whether Covid jabs should be made compulsory for all NHS staff, alongside those in social care. According to official data, 151,000 NHS workers – just over one in 10 – have not have [sic] the vaccine.

Alternatively that they had a terrible reaction to PEG or polysorbate 80 containing laxatives whilst on holiday (is not on NHS records.) PEG allergy is also a no-no for covid jabs I believe.

Matt Hancock also said in the commons yesterday that there should be no duty of care to the refuseniks of the vaccination in other words you don’t have the injection then the NHS can refuse to treat you.
Nobody batted an eyelid in the house of commons. And I note it has not made headlines here. I also note that Hancock did not mention the fact that these same refuseniks have paid out thousands some millions in taxes towards the NHS, is he going to refund the money or stop taking the tax? Why is he being allowed to get away with this kind of statement? and why are the press and media not doing anything about it?
Perhaps we can get a refund then if the glorious NHS is going to discriminate.

I had the impression that if ever a situation arose that I found myself being mandated or coerced into taking part in a medical experiment, I was protected by law because of the Nuremburg Code. That was until I found out that the Nuremburg Code has never been signed into Law.

This is absolutely against all human rights. This ‘vaccine’ would have been pulled at any other time for around even 50 deaths from it, yet after I believe over 17000 deaths worldwide they are still promoting it as ‘safe’. Anyone who has done any research will not want this poison. Two days ago a friend told me that her 26 yr old son’s fit, sports playing colleague of the same age, had the AZ vaccine, having wanted the Pfizer one but the surgery had run out. So his GP persuaded him to have the AZ. 2 days later, he was dead. I hope his family sue the arse off that doctor. It won’t bring their son back but might make him think twife about killing others.

A person dying as a result of voluntarily having this jab is a tragedy, but a person dying as a result of being forced to have this jab, surely, is murder.
Minimum wage. Zero contracted hours. Wearing a mask all day, restricting your breathing.
Now to be forced to have a jab that could cause long term medical problems.
My daughter did care in the community and zero contract means, do as you’re told or next week you find yourself with zero hours. She was working 60 hours some weeks.
She lived on a weekly basis doing as she was told, because if she didn’t, she didn’t get the hours and that meant she didn’t have a wage the following week.
A lot of the staff will have already been coerced and threatened into getting jabbed, if they didn’t, they didn’t have the luxury of working from home or being furloughed, they get sent home and as they are officially employed but they get zero income, they would get zero help.
This system has been seriously damaged over many years.
My father and his generation fought to get better wages and working conditions, I know as I grew up with it. Somewhere between then and now we have lost the ability to stand and fight for our rights.

Following on from the lack of response to my FOI request asking for weekly hospitalisations due to vaccine ADRs, I am sending the following to my MP under the title ‘suggestion to reduce vaccine hesitancy’……In the interests of assisting the government in reducing vaccine hesitancy might I suggest that henceforth the DHSC/PHE publish alongside its weekly number of hospitalised covid cases the weekly number of hospitalisations due to vaccine Adverse Drug Reaction?
As the former will obviously dwarf the latter it should finally send the message out that the vaccines are indeed safe.
Perhaps to gain maximum traction this should be publicised by the BBC, our trusted source for information regarding coronavirus and vaccines.
I cannot possibly see any reason why we shouldnt do this, so what does my MP think of this suggestion?

I hope (not that I’m confident) the government will lose in court eventually, but the trouble is how many will have already succumbed to the powers that be by then? It’s an irreversible medical intervention…

And whilst I applaud those care home workers who are moving jobs…it is not a huge leap to suggest this is the beginning of mandatory annual jabs for all. Chatting yesterday with an acquaintance who is a Carer. She’s had to do extra shifts to cover staff sickness, including one colleague who has started having fits, never having had them before. Hmmm.
Earlier in the day, talked to hairdresser whom I hadn’t visited since December. She’s not going to have the jab as her father died a few days after having had his.
If this jab is mandated then how is it not corporate manslaughter when the inevitable casualties start to happen?

What I find very sad about this, is that the government pick on some of the poorest workers in the countrty to try to impose this. Then these people have to leave their jobs or strike to resist.

I rather feel that the whole care home approach to old age care is now a busted flush, who in their right mind would now agree to go in a care home or work in a care home? My 91 year old Aunt says she has accumulated a bottle of pills and the whole lot is going in washed down with something strong, should anyone suggest she has to go into a care home. I think she is serious and I must say I feel pretty much the same. I cannot see the care home system coming through this hoo-haa in the same way it started, we need to review our whole approach to old age care, I would suggest that care homes in their present format are not the answer.
Very difficult with dementia though, faculties to take your own life are gone. So many people don’t have families to care for them 24/7. I agree though that social care is a mess.
Hope this is true, if they stick to it, if ALL workers stick to it, they can win, its as easy as that. Can employers be sued if they coerce through any means and something goes wrong?
