Golden Naked Trump Statue Unveiled at European Parliament

A giant golden statue depicting a naked Donald Trump has gone on display inside one of the European Parliament’s buildings. The Telegraph has the story.

The 8.5ft-tall sculpture, named Orange Plague, shows the nude US president holding justice scales and a long golf club with a golf ball made to look like the world.

Also known as the King of Injustice, Trump is portrayed as sitting on the shoulders of a smaller, clothed man holding him up.

The statue stands at one of the busiest intersections connecting two of the European Parliament’s buildings in Strasbourg, France, and is scheduled to remain there until Thursday.

Text on the plinth reads: “I am sitting on the back of a man. He is sinking under my burden. I will do anything to help him. Except stepping down from his back.”

Jens Galschiot, the Danish artist who created the sculpture, said: “Trump represents one of the greatest threats to the rules-based world order, democratic values and our common effort to solving the climate crisis.

“We must address this issue and stand together against such destructive influence.”

Galschiot said the statue, covered in 23-carat gold leaf, was inspired by the story of The Emperor’s New Clothes, in which a vain leader parades naked through the street, believing he is dressed in the finest clothes.

In the fairytale, no one tells him that he is naked out of fear and flattery until a child points out his nudity and the emperor becomes a figure of ridicule.

Per Clausen, a Left-wing Danish European Parliament member, invited the artist to exhibit the statue in the building.

He said that he was not worried about a potential reaction from Trump, adding: “If someone is so thin-skinned that they cannot tolerate this sculpture being exhibited in the European Parliament, then they have no place on the world stage.”

The statue was previously on display during the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30), which was held in Brazil last year. It also made an appearance in Germany during this year’s Munich Security Conference.

“Trump represents one of the greatest threats to the rules-based world order, democratic values and our common effort to solving the climate crisis.

These people are literally insane. Trump is trying to make sure that only US citizens vote in US elections, that the dead (the Democrats’ most-favoured constituency) don’t vote, and that postal ballots can’t be used to overturn democratic elections. And this is presented by the madleft as a “threat to democracy”. Furthermore, there is no climate crisis (although there is a social-control project dressed up as “the climate crisis”). And the “rules-based world order” is code for a regime that has minimal input from the voters. It’s a way of keeping voters out of decision-making.

This statue says more about how puerile, thin-skinned, and unprofessional the European Parliament/Politburo is.

Not only a personal attack but by implication as a minimum on the 77 million Americans who voted for him

Fully agree with the statement that politicians should not be thin skinned, look forward to a grotesque naked statue of Ursula Fond of Lying taking its place next week. The chap who made that remark should avoid going to his neighbour Germany though where it’s illegal to insult politicians.

Throughout history, works of art have been used to make political statements. But to see such a personal attack on the leader of one of the most important allies Europe has had over the past 100 years and more being condoned by the European Parliament beggars belief.

I think the EU will come to rue this day. I think they will soon be asking ‘was it worth it?’.
