Link Between Positive Covid Tests and Covid Deaths Has Been Broken, Says NHS Leader

by Michael Curzon
9 June 2021 1:55 PM

The vaccine has broken the link between positive Covid tests and Covid deaths, according to the Chief Executive of NHS Providers, Chris Hopson, who last week criticised the scientific modelling seen by the Government through much of the pandemic as “crude” and unreliable. Chris says that viewed alone, the raw number of positive tests does not tell the full story: “It is a much younger population that is coming in [for hospital treatment now], they are less clinically vulnerable” and much easier to treat. The MailOnline has the story.

Chris Hopson… said today that the surge in cases and hospital admissions in the Greater Manchester town was manageable for its hospitals.

Patients were generally younger and less sick, he suggested, than in the crippling second wave over the winter, and the numbers of people coming in were lower and significantly fewer of them are dying.

Vaccines appear to be doing a lot of the heavy lifting, Mr Hopson said, adding that they have broken the link between infections and “very high” levels of hospital admissions and deaths in earlier waves of the virus…

Bolton has been overtaken by nearby Blackburn as the country’s Covid hotspot after cases surged there driven by the Indian variant, which accounts for almost all infections in the town. Hospital admissions rose shortly after, to a peak of 49 people on wards with Covid and 14 admitted in a day, but these appear to be falling now, too, with 42 reported in patients on June 1st.

Mr Hopson said: “If – and it is a big if – if Bolton has gone through its complete cycle and if other areas follow Bolton, the view from the hospital there was that they were able to cope with the level of infections.”

His comments come as pressure is building towards Boris Johnson’s speech next Monday when he is expected reveal whether June 21st’s “Freedom Day” end of social distancing will go ahead. Current trends look as though he will prolong lockdown laws for a few more weeks or until the summer holidays to buy more time for vaccinations.

Mr Hopson told Times Radio: “It’s important not to just focus on the raw numbers here… you also do need to look at who’s being admitted into hospital and how clinically vulnerable and what level of acuity [illness] they’ve got.

“What chief executives are consistently telling us is that it is a much younger population that is coming in, they are less clinically vulnerable, they are less in need of critical care and therefore they’re seeing what they believe is a significantly lower mortality rate which is, you know, borne out by the figures.

“So it’s not just the numbers of people who are coming in, it’s actually the level of harm and clinical risk.”

Worth reading in full.

The Strep A problem may be being caused by the Nasal Flu spray being given to school children ! Apparently in trials with Mice this was the result ! Could this be true ??

The paper mentioned “significant increases” in Streptococcus pneumoniae rather than Strep A, they cause different diseases. Also increased Staphylococcus aureus. But the mechanisms that the authors suggest are not necessarily specific to those two; if Strep A happens to be doing the rounds at the time of vaccination then maybe it could promote that as well. The fact checkers will tell you there’s “no evidence” of course, but that’s “no evidence” in the sense that nobody’s looked for any.

Mark Steyn must be on the mend if he’s able to talk about his experience. Glad he’s doing well though.🙂

Do you have a link to his talk, Mogs? This just takes you to a picture of the great man without any video.

No sorry, I couldn’t find one. I did find this however, lead singer of The Specials dead after a ”brief illness”. 🙁 Gutted. Everyone knows some corkers that The Specials did. Ghost Town, A Message To You Rudy, You Done Too Much, being 3 faves of mine. Very sad.

I saw this last night. Very sad. Terry Hall was a wonderful singer and songwriter and I have been a fan throughout his career.

Lead with The Fun Boy Three.

Personally I think his greatest work was the album “Virgins and Philistines” when he fronted The Colourfield. Some of it is a touch dark but as an album it is sublime. One of my all time favourites.

I liked Fun Boy Three also. “It ain’t what you do it’s the way that you do it…” Only know them as I was a Bananarama fangirl. 🙂 But 63yrs is way too young to go. Another mystery, though maybe more details will emerge over time.

LOL. I’ve never heard of that one. I was probably a bit young to appreciate them back in the day. I think if he’d grown his hair and went crazy with the hair spray, worn red lipstick, eye liner and big, baggy jumpers he’d pass for Robert Smith’s brother, haha! Obviously a very different style of music but still. I did dig The Cure back in the ’80s though.

“A leading think tank says Government should highlight benefits of people coming to work legally while cracking down on small boat crossings”
So, you need a think tank to tell you of laws that already exist? Oi veh!

I have a simpler mechanism to offer. When a boat arrives, if people who have travelled far and risked much to come and try to build a better life here through hard work and enterprise, we should get 20 lardy career benfit claimants, and holders of non-jobs in the Public Sector to go back the other way. One in, one out….

We could call it ‘Refugee Swap’ and make it into a TV programme…

I know that we have all read about HCQ and Ivermectin…and one of the greatest miscarriages in this whole charade has been the way people were left to die ‘because there was no treatment’ for Covid when we all know there were numerous early treatments that were used successfully….
Jikky the Mouse had a huge Twitter following but of course she was subsequently banned….she has now been re-instated ….!
She claims here, and I believe it’s true, that three tablets of Azithromycin would have saved thousands of elderly lives, if not more….
If they hadn’t used the useless PCR and been diagnosed with ‘Covid’ they would have got the treatment…which is shocking…..

Jikky the mouse https
@TheJikky

For every person who had an elderly relative die “of Covid” and who never received a single antibiotic go back to the treating doctor and ask them what the treatment is for post viral pneumonia.
Then ask why they didn’t treat your gran.
#3tablets was all it took.

3 tablets.
That’s what they withheld from the elderly that were diagnosed with “COVID pneumonia” because they were told not to treat. It was bacterial pneumonia. They died.
If they hadn’t had the test they would have had the tablets.

Instead of “two weeks to slow the spread” which became “3 years and an experimental gene therapy whether you like it or not” it would have just taken #3tablets to stop the majority of the deaths in the elderly.

Please keep this going.
Tag every COVID post with #3tablets twitter.com/TheJikky/statu…

Jikky’s been great in uncovering all of this viral pneumonia stuff. And people doubt the depopulation theory. It’s gathering more and more evidence by the day! 🙁

From a post just seen over at TCW:

The latest proposed terrorism legislation states that ANY venue capable of holding more than 100 people must produce a plan detailing how it will respond in the event of it coming under a terrorist attack.

Well we do suffer alot of those don’t we? Usually instigated by our own government.

Let’s see – churches, sport stadiums, theatres, gyms, supermarkets, factories etc.

(I can’t seem to copy and paste from the TCW site.)

It’s not enough for them…provoking Russia and threatening China…I fear that Serbia is going to be pushed into conflict by USA/NATO, as they were before…
The future for Europe is looking decidedly bleak while ever they follow the orders coming from the USA…..
