Link Between Positive Covid Tests and Covid Deaths Has Been Broken, Says NHS Leader

by Michael Curzon
9 June 2021 1:55 PM

The vaccine has broken the link between positive Covid tests and Covid deaths, according to the Chief Executive of NHS Providers, Chris Hopson, who last week criticised the scientific modelling seen by the Government through much of the pandemic as “crude” and unreliable. Chris says that viewed alone, the raw number of positive tests does not tell the full story: “It is a much younger population that is coming in [for hospital treatment now], they are less clinically vulnerable” and much easier to treat. The MailOnline has the story.

Chris Hopson… said today that the surge in cases and hospital admissions in the Greater Manchester town was manageable for its hospitals.

Patients were generally younger and less sick, he suggested, than in the crippling second wave over the winter, and the numbers of people coming in were lower and significantly fewer of them are dying.

Vaccines appear to be doing a lot of the heavy lifting, Mr Hopson said, adding that they have broken the link between infections and “very high” levels of hospital admissions and deaths in earlier waves of the virus…

Bolton has been overtaken by nearby Blackburn as the country’s Covid hotspot after cases surged there driven by the Indian variant, which accounts for almost all infections in the town. Hospital admissions rose shortly after, to a peak of 49 people on wards with Covid and 14 admitted in a day, but these appear to be falling now, too, with 42 reported in patients on June 1st.

Mr Hopson said: “If – and it is a big if – if Bolton has gone through its complete cycle and if other areas follow Bolton, the view from the hospital there was that they were able to cope with the level of infections.”

His comments come as pressure is building towards Boris Johnson’s speech next Monday when he is expected reveal whether June 21st’s “Freedom Day” end of social distancing will go ahead. Current trends look as though he will prolong lockdown laws for a few more weeks or until the summer holidays to buy more time for vaccinations.

Mr Hopson told Times Radio: “It’s important not to just focus on the raw numbers here… you also do need to look at who’s being admitted into hospital and how clinically vulnerable and what level of acuity [illness] they’ve got.

“What chief executives are consistently telling us is that it is a much younger population that is coming in, they are less clinically vulnerable, they are less in need of critical care and therefore they’re seeing what they believe is a significantly lower mortality rate which is, you know, borne out by the figures.

“So it’s not just the numbers of people who are coming in, it’s actually the level of harm and clinical risk.”

Worth reading in full.

“Although there are fears single doses of the jabs may not work as well against the “Delta” strain as they did against the Kent variant, full vaccination with two doses is still expected to protect the vast majority of people from severe illness or death. “

Err, no. The vast majority of people are already protected from severe illness or death and have no need of vaccination.

Although what the NHS really is for debateable.

saw the HART discussion

if we vaccinate all kids we may kill 100 (at least) – but save none of dying of covid – but maybe reduce spread a bit and save a few old people (for a few months)

this is what vampires do isn’t it? sacrifice the young to extend their old lives?

Not clever – it’s the government that should be holding the child hostage.

Yes, it’s a mistake to blame the old. No-one asked them specifically if they wanted this shit, and I know plenty that don’t.

I don’t think it is intended to blame the old – but present the jabbing of kids in a thought provoking way – its clearly not residents of nursing homes who decide who gets jabbed

If they end up killing only a 100 it would be mission not achieved. More likely 10,000 (one in a thousand) early deaths with many times that number to come over the next few years. These vaccines are meant to sterilise, maim and kill.

Nothing to do with vaccines, I suspect
More to do with the fact that all of the vulnerable have been exposed to the virus and have either sadlidied from it, been killed off by the side-effects of the vaccine, or – in the vast majority of cases – recovered, and those who are being infected now are the younger and less susceptible to serious illness.
Also the virus has mutated to become more contagious and less deadly, as viruses always do.

?? – a naturally falling prevalence doesn’t suggest greater contagion!

Do you have to promote this sort of crap?

By all means report what these devious individuals are saying, but it does need to come with a critical health warning, given their record of being 180 degrees wrong on most issues – particularly the fraudulent use of the PCR test and fake diagnosis.

Simply – this virus has done what viruses do.

“It is a much younger population that is coming in [for hospital treatment now]” Are they being treated in hospital, for covid. I mean, they get symptoms of covid and dial 999 or turn up at A&E and are admitted and tested? Or they test positive and go to hospital “just in case”? And when they are at hospital, what “treatment” are they getting? Oxygen? TLC? The wonder drug beginning with d that you don’t hear much about these days?

They may well be, but the implication of the words of the NHS provider is that they are being treated for covid. It seems unlikely, but that’s what most people would probably take away from that statement.

““It is a much younger population that is coming in [for hospital treatment now], they are less clinically vulnerable”

Hmmm… could be that.

After all, 93.85% of those who sadlidied last year “with COVID” were over the age of 60. And 0.15% of those who sadlidied were under 30.

“Vaccines appear to be doing a lot of the heavy lifting, Mr Hopson said,”
No, it’s either that the dry tinder is all used up or the younger age group are receiving the vaccines increasing the prevalence of positive tests, maybe a combination of both.

Look at this bullshit in the heath-Fascist con mag.

https://medicalxpress.com/news/2021-06-standard-ways-valuing-health-pandemic.html

But despite their proven strength in making healthcare decisions explicit and transparent, QALYs haven’t been used by the UK government during the pandemic response. Researchers have estimated that each QALY saved through lockdowns, for example, may have cost the country hundreds of thousands or even millions of pounds.
These estimates are much higher than the traditional thresholds used by NICE and others. Why has this happened?
Not normal times
COVID-19 is an emergency.

The vast majority of people do not need “vaccination”. We have something rather special known as the human immune system. It’s something that evolves after 80 million years of animals existing alongside microbes.

Looks like the country reaims split: According to the latest YouGov survey, 40% think reopening should go ahead as planned, while 36% think it should not. 24% were not sure.

Given this useless government is neither data or dates but focus groups this leaves us in a very difficult poisition. I fear no one is listening to the detail anymore, we are all ignoring as far as we are able this nonsense and an equal number of our countrymen are hiding behind the sofa 🙁

Our local Gazette (does’t really count as a newspaper but still…) reports that its reader poll said 57% think lockdown should be extended beyond June 21st!
I just hope that the people with time on their hands who are hanging around the Gazette web-site where the poll was conducted are not representative of the population as a whole although observations round here suggest they are 🙁

I know the young have not exactly shined with their rebelliousness, but I doubt 57% of people under 30 think lockdown should be extended. A lot of young people I know have been quietly ignoring the rules since the start. I don’t suppose the Gazette has many readers under 30….

Yep, you’ve beat me to it. How does Hopson explain last summer if he thinks this time it’s due to “vaccines…doing a lot of the heavy lifting”.

Unless of course he means the vaccine killing off all the dry tinder in the winter…in that sense he’s spot on.

Can anyone explain why these apparently young, not vulnerable, not particularly unwell people are being admitted to hospital for? This story doesn’t make sense. Could it be that they are presenting to hospital with symptoms not related to “covid” – say, with “vaccine” adverse effects, for example – and testing positive to boot? Just a theory.

As a policy the decision to “wait for the vaccines” may have worked fine for UK Government advisor and funder Bill Gates and his Big Pharma chums. But it was a death sentence for thousands of British COVID victims denied early treatment. Many would almost certainly still be alive today if they had been prescribed Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine. These safe, inexpensive antivirals have been credited with stopping raging outbreaks in their tracks in Peru and several Indian states. Next time around (and “Doc” Gates assures us another pandemic is waiting in the wings, so who can doubt it?) we must learn from this tragically flawed policy.

I agree with “godders”. Younger people who catch the Covid should not need to go into hospital if their GPs were allowed to prescribe one of at least two repurposed drugs which have proved to be effective remedies but are not “approved” by the authorities. They are hydroxychloroqine and ivermectin along with supportive medicines and these are being used in India where the number of cases and deaths are dropping like a stone. Governments across the world who have prohibited the use of these in favour of highly dubious so-called vaccines should be indicted for mass murder.
