The number of foreign criminals on Britain’s streets who are subject to deportation orders has jumped by more than 2,000 in a year to record levels in the wake of Labour’s soft justice measures, while the amount of migrants applying to settle in the UK has hit a 16-year high as the Boris-wave breaks. Home Office figures show 21,294 foreign national offenders were living free in the community in the year to June 2026, up from 18,993 a year earlier.
The increase was blamed on the impact of Labour’s Sentencing Act, which has seen thousands of criminals released early as part of efforts to combat prison overcrowding.
The number of foreign criminals awaiting deportation stood at 17,677 at the time of the General Election in 2024.
Nick Timothy MP, Shadow Justice Secretary, said: “Foreign criminals living in the community should be deported. We warned there would be grave consequences to Labour’s Sentencing Act, and here is yet another one rearing its head.
“The next Conservative Government will leave the ECHR so that we can remove all foreign criminals.”
Today’s figures also revealed the number of asylum seekers living outside hotels has exceeded 73,000.
The Home Office said 73,068 asylum seekers were living in ‘non-hotel’ accommodation – such as shared homes, flats or military bases – in the year to June 2026, up 3% on the previous year.
Ministers are continuing to move migrants out of hotels, with the number housed in them falling by 50% to 16,021, the lowest figure since 2022. The total had previously reached 56,018 at the end of September 2023.
Separately, more migrants than ever applied to settle in the UK over the last year as foreign nationals rushed to secure their status before tougher immigration rules come into force.
The number of migrants granted indefinite leave to remain (ILR) climbed to 199,628 in the year to June 2026, up 24% on the previous year and the highest annual total for 16 years.
Reforms due to be introduced this autumn by Shabana Mahmood will lengthen the time many migrants must spend in the UK before qualifying for the status, which allows them to live, work and study permanently in Britain.
The Home Secretary will increase the qualifying period for ILR from five to 10 years for most migrants, while lower-paid foreign workers could face waits of up to 15 years and refugees could wait at least 20 years.
Another 245,520 people were granted British citizenship over the last year. Although down 4% on the previous year, the figure remains close to record highs.
Labour has pledged to end the use of hotels for asylum seekers by the end of this Parliament. Another 13 such hotels closed earlier this month as the Government continued the process of moving people into alternative accommodation.
The total number of hotels in use is now below 160, having peaked at around 400 under the Conservatives.
Ministers are increasing the use of more ‘basic’ sites, including former military barracks – prompting a backlash from local communities who are required to accommodate a large influx of young men.
Chris Philp MP, Shadow Home Secretary, said: “Labour are moving illegal immigrants out of hotels and into flats in your building, and now they are telling them to go and disappear without a trace.”

“Foreign Criminals” running loose? If you or I gathered a gang of Marxists as she once did, invaded Sainsburys, lay down on the floor to block shoppers and closed down the supermarket because they refuse to cut all food imports from Israel, we would be arrested.
We would not later be elevated to high posts in the British government like this Pakistani Muslim Marxist woman Mahmood (a variation on “Mohammed”). As Nigel Farage implied, a Muslim Army is being welcomed and forcibly inserted into every nook and cranny of the British Isles, and given military training in mosques, awaiting the signal to attack the Unarmed Indigenous Population.
Once they lose housing and other benefits and vagrancy is suppressed they will have no choice but to go home. Or to El Salvador’s?

“Care” about them? Of course she cares! When a Muslim Army is invading your country, always put a Muslim-Marxist Woman in charge of repelling them. What could go wrong?
Soft on crime. Soft on the causes of crime. Soft on the criminals who commit the crimes. Soft on the criminal migrants who are entering the country and intend embarking on a life of crime to pay for their ferry here.
But if you’re white British and dare write a hurty word or two on Facebook the full force of the (made up) law will descend on you.
These people need to be detained in secure facilities, and bread and water no pocket money.
Given that a lot of them come from countries that won’t take them back this is the only way to keep the public safe. Even if life in a secure facility is awful for them a lot of them won’t be able to go home voluntarily because they destroyed their documents before boarding a dinghy and their home country can wash it’s hands of them.
No documents? No problem. Go straight to Pakistan, regardless. We’ve got plenty of nice, comfy container ships stacked high, so you can eat your dry-packed rations, chat with your mates and enjoy the sea breezes along the way. The trip should only take about a month. And you don’t have to waste your breath shrieking like you do on deportation flights to force us to cancel them, because you can shriek as much as you like at sea. Our crews will be friendly and helpful as long as you do not attempt to approach their gun towers.

No, they need to be turned back and not allowed to even set foot on British soil, like the Australians did to protect the land their ancestors built into a great nation.
