The Guardian (yes indeed) reports on the morning of May 16th 2026 that the World Health Organisation (yes indeed) – no, let me quote the headline, as it is in the imperative mood. You know, imperative: the mood of emperors:
‘Declare climate crisis a global public health emergency, experts tell WHO’
That is the headline. The text begins:
The climate crisis should be declared a global public health emergency by the World Health Organisation, or millions more people will die unnecessarily, leading international experts have said.
The independent pan-European commission on climate and health, which was convened by the WHO, concluded the climate crisis was such a worldwide threat to health that the WHO should declare it “a public health emergency of international concern” (Pheic).
That is as far as I got. Now, I have heard of ‘PHEIC’ before. It was used during COVID-19. On January 30th 2020, COVID-19 was declared a public health emergency of international concern. A PHEIC. But until now I had never asked myself how PHEIC is pronounced. Scales fell from my eyes. It is pronounced FAKE.
I then googled ‘PHEIC FAKE’ in capital letters to see who had noticed this before. I am not saying no one has noticed this before, but I was expecting to see a list of conspiracy theorists. No. The first entry on Google was the Wikipedia page for ‘Public health emergency of international concern.’ And the first line of this entry is as follows:
A public health emergency

Climate crisis? The Grauniad is behind the times, it is now Climate BREAKDOWN.
Presumably that is why it rains, the poor climate having a breakdown and sobbing its clouds out.

But then this, which doesn’t seem like a “global health emergency”:
The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared an Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo a public health emergency of international concern.
The agency said the outbreak in DR Congo’s eastern Ituri province, which has seen around 246 suspected cases and 80 deaths reported, does not meet the criteria of a pandemic emergency.
But it warned it could potentially be “a much larger outbreak” than what is currently being detected and reported, with significant risk of local and regional spread.
This also made me chuckle:
“The WHO added that countries outside the affected region should not close their borders or restrict travel and trade as “such measures are usually implemented out of fear and have no basis in science”.”
To which someone in the Other Place replied
“is it ebola again? i still have my hantavirus decorations up”
Which cracked me up.

What, a vaccine for the climate crisis?
I first came across the argument that PHEIC meant FAKE during the Covid Tyranny.
I can’t remember who / what explained it, but at the time it was very convincing.
But then, I’m just an anti-vaxxer and gullible conspiracy theorist …. but a healthy one, both physically and mentally …. which is very strange 🙂
PHEIC pronounced “fake” was used regularly with reference to Covid by Dr Reiner Fuellmich. For his campaigning efforts against the Covid “plandemic”, another loaded word he used regularly, he has been banged up in a German prison for the past three years on trumped-up “fake” charges.
