Premier League Has “Worst Vaccination Rate” in the World of Sport

by Michael Curzon
17 October 2021 12:02 PM

Government and sports officials continue to apply pressure on Premier League football which is said to have the “worst vaccination rate in the world”. They have been left wondering how else they can increase uptake now that suggestions of rewards for clubs with high jab rates and an ‘education campaign’ featuring Professor Jonathan Van Tam, England’s Deputy Chief Medical Officer, appear to have fallen flat among players. The Mail on Sunday has the story.

A Mail on Sunday survey has found that almost all other top leagues have a much higher vaccine take-up rate than English football.

Even tennis – which has had a similar issue with vaccine hesitancy – is threatening to outstrip English football, with the take-up rate on the ATP Tour having improved by around 20% over the past six weeks.

Rival sports have attributed their success to reasons that include top athletes promoting the jab and tougher restrictions for unvaccinated players, neither of which have happened in the Premier League.

This has been done in some American sports such as the NFL, who have more than 95% of their players and staff fully-vaccinated despite a number of high-profile refuseniks with some franchises as high as 100%.

They credit star players and coaches coming out as strong vocal advocates for vaccination as a key factor in their high number, such as Superbowl-winning coach Bruce Arians.

“That has had a huge impact in dressing rooms,” NFL Chief Medical Officer Dr. Allen Sills told the Mail on Sunday. “Young and less experienced players look up to them and want to be as successful in the same way. It speaks to have people who have the trust of the players. That has been incredibly important.”

The Premier League has lacked such a spokesperson among top players with conspiracy theories about virility and heart defects being shared amongst WhatsApp groups.

They were unable to persuade its players to take part in a similar publicity campaign despite myth-bunking [sic] videos from… Jonathan Van-Tam. …

The Premier League still lags behind. Of its 20 clubs, 13 were understood to have vaccination rates of less than 50%, according to a letter sent to clubs in September. This figure is likely to have risen slightly.

The most recent set of Football League figures, revealed by Sportsmail last week, had just 49% of players fully vaccinated. A quarter of EFL players effectively said they were not planning to get jabbed.

Worth reading in full.

That’s a touching faith. The automatic downticks are illiterately ‘botic (bot-ticks?)

As for the rest, a lot are simply incoherent grunts of ‘me no like, but dunno why. Me no write’ from the knee. A few may have a brain behind them.

A lot of footballers don’t come from middle class backgrounds, the same class of people like typical Guardian readers that have enabled this shit show. The same class of people that you would have thought had the intelligence to question and realise none of this adds up.

Intelligence and smart are not always intrinsically linked.

Like most bullies, the government picks on those who have no means of fighting back, like healthcare workers.

In contrast, top-level footballers can call on a lot of media coverage, and are mostly going to be able to afford the best lawyers. The government is therefore far more wary of trying to give them a kicking.

Likely because it is they who are most often at the sharp end of being exploited by big pharma to ‘test’ new products, especially as most of them didn’t / don’t have access to private healthcare, which is more likely to put their needs first. Most them can therefore spot BS a mile away.

Coming from a working class background or working in an industry / living in certain areas of the UK also helps – I worked in Construction, so I find it quite easy to spot liars and BS generally.

The Sun, Daily Mail, and Telegraph are bound to turn this into a racist story, if they haven’t already started.

Have any well-known footballers or other sportsmen or cultural figures said publicly that they will not be vaccinated? Or are they at the moment relegated to the status of a percentage?

In fact in the Mail on Sunday article they don’t quite make it even to that status. “Of (the English Premier League’s) 20 clubs, 13 were understood to have vaccination rates of less than 50 per cent, according to a letter sent to clubs in September. This figure is likely to have risen slightly.”

So the last anyone heard, the majority of clubs had a majority of players who were resisting all the encouragement to be vaccinated.

I wonder whether they’ll start to get threatened. Maybe they’ve already been told not to say anything in public.

Professional footballers tend to be guys who are very serious about looking after their health. This is presumably why so many of them are showing good sense regarding vaccination.

“The Sun, Daily Mail, and Telegraph are bound to turn this into a racist story“

How might that work?

Isn’t it undisputed fact that “BAME” people are more at risk from the big bad covid? And isn’t it a fact that “BAME” (or some significant sections of the category) people are also more likely to resist the “vaccines”?

Is pointing out truth “racist”?

Is it “racist” if the Sun points it out because they think it’s a bad thing, but not “racist” if I point it out because I think it’s to their collective credit?

Genuine question, because the vagaries of modern day ideological taboos like those around “racism” are important and interesting.

I think it is racist to suggest it is “racial justice” to prioritise black people in the injections of an experimental agent masquerading as a vaccine. As was tried in the US, to get the black community to come forward.

It’s dishonest and/or profoundly stupid. Not sure I see why it’s particularly “racist”, unless anything addressed to blacks is inherently “racist”. Nor why that should matter particularly if it were, frankly. It’s appalling by virtue of what it is, but not made particularly worse if it’s “racist” than if it isn’t.

Note that as yet, no-one is formally being ‘named and shamed’. Why? Because the high likelihood is that the overwhelming majority of the non-vaccinated are foreign-born players, and mostly black as well.

That’s not to disparrage them – because I’m not vaccinated for COVID either – but because it’s likely that their own personal/family experiences from their country of origin (or from relatives abroad) as regards ‘new vaccines’ has not been a good one, given how often people of poor nations have been used unethically (to say the least – often criminally) as guinea pigs for medicines and ‘vaccines’ developed by big pharma (often with investments donations by the likes of Bill Gates & Co) that have yet to meet the criteria for human testing in Western nations, because said firms want to bypass our restrictions to jump ahead of rivals.

People from or who have relatives still living in areas of the world exploited by big pharma know the score. The MSM and governments are treading carefully because they know they’ll face accusations of racism if they point out who are the those who make up most of the unvaccinated.

Bear in mind that (if I recall correctly) Pfizer, for example, was fined a huge amount by the US government just in 2020. And look how they are being lauded as if their were saints by the MSM and the idiots on social media, many of whom 10 years ago would’ve been protesting outside their offices and harranguing them for their many failures, corruption and unethical/illegal practices. Notice not one peep from the animal rights brigade about the animal testing of the vaccines.

For the vast majority of the population the survival rate for this virus is around 99+% – if you are relatively young, somewhat fit and healthy with no serious underlying health issues then you are practically at zero risk of dyng from this virus -why should anyone in this category want to risk a vaccine with well-known possible (or sometimes even fatal) side effects – a vaccine that doesn’t even stop you getting the virus or spreading it but will only reduce any severe symptoms should you get it.

As someone in this group I would rather take the miniscule risk of getting the virus and obtain better longer-lasting natural immunity than the uncertainty of a rushed newly-developed vaccine with no known mid-long term impacts on my general health.

It’s interesting that Leeds United is one of the 3 most jabbed clubs in the PL – and a quick look at the Leeds fans’ websites will show a number of fans expressing huge puzzlement over the lack of energy and stamina in the players compared to the last 3 seasons! Many are already predicting relegation this season!

Just a coincidence, I’m sure.

As a Southampton fan I’m more than happy that all of Leeds players are jabbed. Their lack of energy just gave us our first win of the season!

On a different note I was happy to see 2 Watford players avoiding the kneeling nonsense, no mention by the commentary of course.

I am practically the only one of my friends, neighbours and family members now who has refused the jab so far – some of whom have now had their third ‘booster’ jabs – one of the complaints after the jab I hear most (alongside headaches) is tiredness and a lack of energy. As someone who plays a lot of sport, when I hear this it bothers me a lot and makes more determined not to have the jab.

Yes, I am a Leeds fan and it’s the first thing I thought of, they are playing like a bunch of pensioners (no offence). I know that their training is very hard and they are (or were) renowned for being one of the fittest sides, but with so many unexplained injuries now it seems that they just can’t take that level of training any more. And I blame the vaccine, absolutely.

Been going to matches regularly at my club for more than 50 years. And I still love going after all this time.
But the Premier League’s threats about vaccine passports have finished me off in terms of any commitment. They are prepared to jettison customers on no scientific basis whatsoever, And they keep on and on about how there is no place for discrimination in football, whilst all the while planning to put discriminatory policies into action.
but all is not lost, there is other football, other things to do. It is just a very sad way for it all to go.

I also cancelled my Sky sub and BBC licence fee, which may not hurt them, but made me feel better.
i hope very much that the players stick to their principles, because we all need to 8n the face of this tyranny .

When are they going to understand? The people who don’t want it won’t have it. It doesn’t matter what they say or do. They can offer me whatever they like and I still won’t take it. How about just let people make their own choice? I’m fed up with people demanding others take a dodgy jab. If you’ve had yours than what difference does it make if someone else hasn’t had one? When was the last time anyone asked if someone had a flu vaccine and if not why not?

The article is on the subject of football and Covid yet no mention of the 22 year old, perfectly heatlhy, Irish footballer who took the vaccine on Friday, was ill in bed 2 hours later, died on Monday. Greg van Avemaet, the former Olympic road cycling champion had a big drop off in performance after the experimental vaccine. He said his blood values are the same as always and this should confirm his form, but ‘other values’ show that there’s something not right with his immune system. If you’ve heard him talk before he’s not one to make excuses.

Given that footballers are also tested a lot, do you think they are aware of footballers whose ‘other values’ have been adversely affected by the experimental vaccination? So it’s not just the Christian Eriksen type cases, and what seems the unnecessary ambiguity of the information around what happened with him, but a wider awareness of the affects on the body?

“with conspiracy theories about virility and heart defects being shared amongst WhatsApp groups”

Erm I honestly don’t even know what to say any more. There is actual, substantial, well documented evidence of heart defects, among other professional athletes no less. It isn’t a fucking theory. Does the MSM seriously think they can just throw the word conspiracy theory onto anything these days and be taken seriously? The term is fast losing all meaning thanks to its overuse. Wouldn’t they be better off being honest, and saying there is a legitimate risk of heart complications so maybe that’s why they aren’t being jabbed. Like many other terms (racist, far-right, anti-vaxxer, sexist; I could go on) being called a conspiracy theorist might have bothered me at one point, now I can happily shake it off, maybe even wear the label with pride. Someone should give them the memo that they are overplaying their hand and destroying their once meaningful smear words.

There is nothing ” hesitant” about deciding not to take experimental drugs which offer dubious protection from a condition which hardly affects the young and fit and healthy. Everyone must have the right to decide which medical treatments they use. Shame on the football authorities for towing the line of this shady government and its minions.
