Current Covid Vaccines Unlikely to Protect against New Variants in Future, Says SAGE

2 min read

SAGE has laid the seedbed for more lockdowns in the future, warning that current Covid vaccines are unlikely to protect against new variants of the ever-evolving virus, the eradication of which is “extremely unlikely”. Sky News has the story.

[In a paper published on Friday, SAGE scientists] warn that eventually it is likely “current vaccines will fail to protect against transmission, infection, or even against disease caused by newer variants”.

The document, which considers the long-term plan for Covid jabs, says that “loss of vaccine effectiveness will result in further economic and social costs” and “a solution is to update vaccines to keep pace with virus evolution”.

The scientists add that “we should also consider whether future vaccination policy will aim to immunise the whole population or only those at risk from severe disease”.

The document, which was produced by SAGE’s vaccines update subgroup on May 4th, says current Covid jabs are based on the “Wuhan-like virus” that emerged in China in 2019.

Further doses of those vaccines might maintain protection into the winter of 2021/22 “but potentially less so for individuals with a less robust immune response”, it states.

The scientists say “worryingly” there is increasing evidence that Covid vaccines are less effective at protecting against infections and mild disease caused by the South African variant of the virus, compared to the Kent variant.

Several manufacturers have already started to produce updated vaccines for trials based on the South African variant instead of the virus originally identified in Wuhan, according to SAGE.

“If another variant (e.g. B.1.617 from India) predominated or co-circulated with B.1.1.7 (Kent variant) in the U.K., it is not obvious at the moment which variant based vaccine would most effectively cross protect,” SAGE said.

In February, some of the advisors on SAGE said that Britain could be trapped in lockdown cycles for “several years” because of the emergence of new Covid variants. SAGE member Professor Sir Ian Boyd believes that we could be stuck in a pattern of “control and release for a long time to come”.

The Sky News report is worth reading in full.

Stop Press: Data published by Public Health England suggests that two doses of the AstraZeneca or Pfizer vaccines are 80% effective in preventing infection from the Indian variant, seemingly contradicting the warning issued by SAGE. That’s only 7% less effective than the vaccines are against the Kent variant. The Telegraph has more.

A rare disease that affects mainly those who have one foot in the grave that has a 99.x% survival rate and is rather obviously going endemic in the UK is promoted as being so scary and so deadly that we should expect our lives to be disrupted by it for several years?

It’s just as easy to buy a Scientist as it is to buy a politician.

There is only minimal data on Vaccine efficacy and safety at this point. The trial studies will not finish til 2023. Looks like top ups of the experimental biologicals will be ongoing, which may create variants, which may create the need for another jab and so on. Hard to get off this treadmill.

Ignore anything SAGE publishes on immunology. They don’t have a card carrying immunologist on board.
Just a bunch of psychologists & modellers.

Nothing by way of variants has emerged in over one billion human infections & almost 18 months of replication in human hosts which evades multi locus immunity.

It’s possible this is the most slowly mutating virus ever to have been studied.

This scaremongering will never end until SAGE are disbanded. The trouble is, that would remove Johnson’s ‘shield’ that he hides behind. It looks like we will have to suffer SAGE scaremongering until either the next General Election or Johnson is removed by a coup.

Just kidding, I would consider any person that participated in such a scheme to be lower than a Nazi collaborator.

But it does raise the question, do the vaccinated have more to fear from the unvaccinated, or is it the other way round?

Not fear, but sympathy for those who chose to accept, either through fear, peer pressure or coercion to allow their bodies to be violated in such an invasive way. There will undoubtedly come a time when they cone to realise that what they have done is non reversible and they are going to have to live (or die) with their decision. At that point, instead of deriding those who chose to decline, they will be asking themselves how could they have been so stupid as to allow themselves to be fooled by false promises, threats and faux medical analysis.

Oh for goodness sake. Do these “experts” consider that there is absolutely no other mechanism by which a body can protect itself other than a vaccine? Have they not noticed that the vast majority of the world’s population has not died of a Sars Cov 2 infection? What mysterious reason could there be for this? Oh maybe it’s the human immune system – just a guess. And are we really expected to believe that after 15 months there have been no treatments developed? Well we know that there have, that they show promise, but they just get ignored, dismissed and worst of all, censored.

Tucker Carlson: Coronavirus was enhanced during ‘reckless, ghoulish, very dangerous experiments’
“Even liberal media is admitting the coronavirus may have come from a Chinese lab
for these Chinese scientists, working on the ground at the very beginning of the outbreak, the conclusion was obvious, “the killer coronavirus probably originated from a laboratory in Wuhan.” That was the first week of February in 2020.

That research sat on the internet for weeks, before Chinese authorities pulled it down. And they have, we don’t know what happened to the people who wrote it. But we have a copy. The amazing thing is, even though this was public, public health officials in the west ignored it completely. When asked about the possibility the virus had come from a lab, they became hostile, in some cases, hysterical.”

Many of us saw videos and information based on the conclude from the scientists in China. It made sense, rather than a virus occurring naturally from a wet market that didn’t sell the animals the virus is said to have come from. But we were just dismissed as conspiracy theorists.

SAGE is now fulfilling the role of Public Enemy No. 1.

Even a moron knows that ‘social and economic costs’ are mostly to be laid at their door.

The best vaccination would be to dismiss this body and somehow (given that government and the higher civil service are too culpable to be trusted) find a way of creating a genuine advisory body.

“Somehow” Indeed. I’ve thought about this a lot over the last year and have struggled to find an answer to that. Every check and balance failed us, including the last resort of the general public. Perhaps a very clearly written consitution would have helped a bit – it did in Sweden and Japan, but was simply ignored in many other countries.

Maybe spotting and combating the early signs of collective insanity should be a subject in schools, along with critical thinking, how to say “no”, spotting a bullshitter. Kind of citizenship classes but with the emphasis on the duty not to comply with things that are mad or morally wrong. Ordinarily you want to turn out citizens who don’t drop litter, drive on the correct side of the road and don’t break just laws, but the dangers of over-compliance are now evident, and disastrous.

every day in the UK 1500 people die. They almost all have been vaccinated against covid. Maybe its a coincidence? Maybe they are dying of old age? Maybe the vaccine? Maybe suicide due to lockdown?

I think we’re going to need a Nuclear Armageddon to save us from a mere existence of this sort, if SAGE et al continue to rule the country. The downside to this is that the plutocrats and others of the WEF etc. will no doubt survive in their bunkers, to emerge into the shattered world and join their fellow-cockroaches. The upside is that they might be short of helots and other slaves.

The alternative is, of course, to terminate SAGE forthwith, preferably “with extreme prejudice”, as the Americans have it.

I have come to the conclusion that SAGE, Hancock et al have watch too much Battlestar Galactica (V2), and now believes that we are all Cylons who need regular updates to avoid catching some ancient human disease. And what I want to know is where I can get a job where I get to watch TV all day and then make decisions that decide the fate of innocent civilians.

I think I’d start by watching QVC, and based on the “Science” I’d decree that everyone gets Today’s Special Value item. And anyone who doesn’t comply will be called “anti-value”, and interned until they have purchased 28 days of TSVs, (including one yoga machine, one vacuum cleaner, some toiletries, a 3 million piece socket set and a MuMu). This will be followed by a deradicalisation programme where they spend the next ten years taking crap to the charity shop, (which is almost always not taking donations), the tip, (which is booking only, and has no slots.. ever), and begging fellow citizens to take the junk off their hands.

Firstly, from my understanding viruses evolve and mutate and always have done since the beginning of time – flu jabs never exactly match a flu virus of any given year – some flu viruses are so resistant to the flu vaccinations that some flu strains can cause thousands of deaths every year in the UK – I think there were 60,000 deaths from a flu virus resistant to the flu jab in one month alone back in 2018 or something like that.

Secondly, what is the point of vaccinating the entire population then? Are we going to vaccinate the whole population every month or so … I read somewhere that viruses can mutate ever ten hours – are we to have vaccinations twice a day for the entire country?

Once the elderly and vulnerable had been vaccinated then the restrictions should have ended once and for all (as we were promised) – there will always be a threat from all kinds of viruses and disease out there – you cannot accommodate for every conceivable variant, strain or mutation out there that may or may not be harmful – at some point you have get back to living your life… Read more »

The elderly need the Wuflu jab like a hole in the head. The deaths of the aged in care homes, not just in this country too, as soon as the jab was forced on them showed that. IMHO the elderly are even more likely to be harmed by this crap than younger age groups.

I agree – my parents are both double vaccinated in part because they feared that being in their 80’s they wouldn’t survive the virus and in part because they thought that, in the wartime like conditions the BBC would have us believe we are living in they “had to play their part”. I’d far rather they had taken vitamin D but could not explain in a way they could understand how it would help them. I have already seen considerable deterioration in them post vaccination – I wonder now how much longer we will have them with us. Very depressing.

The standard answer would be that some viruses are more stable than others. For example, flu, which requires a new vaccine every year. There is some truth in this.

It would seem that SARS-CoV-2 also mutates to the point that the vaccination to the original virus will no longer protect against further variants.

The real issue is whether a vaccination strategy was the right one when we now know that effective treatment protocols are effective. I’ll say no more because I’ve just watched a video in which Dr Pierre Kory explains how the WHO butchered the evidence which enabled them to reject the use of Ivermectin. I’m still livid.

Don’t tell Fauci: More evidence for ivermectin

Dr. Pierre Kory and his colleagues at the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC) are leading an effort to assess the effectiveness of ivermectin as a prophylactic against and treatment for COVID and to communicate to the public the mounting evidence of its efficacy. (Ivermectin is well known as an anti-parasitic, and millions of doses are distributed annually in complete safety.)

Kory recently published two important papers.

The first, in the May–June issue of the peer-reviewed American Journal of Therapeutics, is “Review of the Emerging Evidence Demonstrating the Efficacy of Ivermectin in the Prophylaxis and Treatment of COVID-19.” Its conclusions, backed by rigorous consideration of bountiful evidence, are as follows:

Meta-analyses based on 18 randomized controlled treatment trials of ivermectin in COVID-19 have found large, statistically significant reductions in mortality, time to clinical recovery, and time to viral clearance. Furthermore, results from numerous controlled prophylaxis trials report significantly reduced risks of contracting COVID-19 with regular use of ivermectin. Finally, the many examples of ivermectin distribution campaigns leading to rapid population-wide decreases in morbidity and mortality indicate that an oral agent effective in all phases of COVID-19 has been identified.

The second… Read more »

SARS-CoV-2 makes typographical errors when it replicates, but the total of changes made in 17+ months is only 0.3%. No change to vaccines warranted.

Flu mutates using recombination as well as typographical errors. It can change almost completely in a year. Need a new vaccine if you’re using them.

LMS2

Some viruses are very stable, others are prone to rapid mutation, e.g. cold viruses.
TB is a bacillus, i.e. bacterium not a virus. HIV mutates very rapidly, one reason why a vaccine has not been available.
Influenza viruses mutate to produce new strains, so new vaccines are required each year, but in the majority of people they only get flu once, and their immune systems have enough memory to recognise new strains. You might get ill, but it will be relatively mild compared to the first time you encounter the virus.
