The Mirror has published a list of the MPs and Peers who have signed a pledge to vote against vaccine passports. It’s a coalition unlike any other, with ex-leader of the Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn’s name appearing alongside that of Sir Iain Duncan Smith, ex-leader of the Conservatives. Thatcherite John Redwood appears alongside former shadow chancellor John McDonnell and ex-Lib Dem leader Tim Farron. The presence of 41 Conservative MPs on this list will have put the wind up Boris since it would mean that if the Lib Dems, the Scottish Nats and Labour vote against, it would be enough to defeat the measure in the House of Commons. Indeed, Boris has extended an olive branch to the rebels tonight, offering to time-limit the passports for one year. Let’s hope that doesn’t win any of them over.

Unfortunately my local MP is yet again conspicuous by his absence on this list Judging by his lack of performance, failure to acknowledge emails etc I can only assume he is either contemplating his navel, counting the hairs on the palms of his hands or taking the knee in front of his Covid overlords. His own career path is more important than his duty to work for his constituents.
I’ve written to mine only eight times this last year but it’s like pissing in the wind. Still he does actually respond, and address my concerns, even though he has absolutely has no intention of doing anything about them. Still, I like to believe I’m somewhat on his radar, and I’m not giving up!
Sounds like my MP.
He’s a rabid lockdowner and is scrabbling up the greasy pole so fast I would imagine his head is now firmly wedged up the backside of the person above him. It’s all okay though because, as he constantly reminds us, he’s a committed Christian!!
In every email I have sent him, with links to eminent dissenting voices, I have stated that I am sending them so that he will be unable to claim he ‘was unaware’ when the inquiries start in the future. If we’re ever allowed to vote in another GE I’ll be at the hustings handing out copies of his Government line replies.
I won’t be seeing Michael Gove on this list either and also another one who never responds to my emails. I still send them to him anyway, usually with a link to an article I’ve read and asking him for his thoughts.
Good idea. My mp apparently iis only dealing with constituents with ‘individual and urgent’ problems not those that are writing to him about ‘legislative’ issues. So what is his job then? He is taking up space on this planet that someone more worthy could use.
Suggest you try a make sure he no longer has a career path in politics at the next election (if there is one).
I agree but of course we need the choice of candidates who oppose this ‘great reset’.
I have a strong feeling the argument (though we will have moved on to stage 2 by then) will be between those who are boasting that they will be tougher than the other candidate against Covid.
//of course there’s little guarantee we will actually get an election…
Ditto. My MP was fresh in the job at the beginning of this madness, and was celebrated as one of those Tory MPs who replaced Labour in the last election. He’s not once voted against the government on any controversial subjects – i.e., Covid-19.
I’ve written to him, accusing him of being star-struck and toeing the party line for fear of upsetting his masters rather than taking a brave stance.
When I do get a response it’s either a very angry one or a copy/paste job. I really enjoy his angry responses…
Most MP’s, in my view, are not concerned with their constituents but only their own political aspirations. They will, therefore, always do whatever their party whip tells them to do. Otherwise they may not get reselected. This is anti-democratic.
so are all of the MPs in my devolved region which makes me wonder are they keeping their heads down on this because they plan to bring in vaxx passports for my region?
And meant to say, lets hope they stand firm, we know that BoJo cannot be relied upon to keep his word – three weeks to flatten the curve springs to mind for starters!
So far so good with this group.
I pray they stand fast.
God help us all.
It’s good that there are as many but not nearly enough. I despair that there are still 100s of MPs who seem to believe that this is the right thing to do. I can’t make my up whether they are naive and think this is just a temporary measure (‘to get us back to normal’!), ambitious and want to safeguard their careers, have no backbone and cannot stand outside the majority or just mentally challenged in that they cannot think through the repercussions of these certificates or whatever you want to call them. All I can say is that I’m not religious but am starting to pray for someone, somewhere to step in and save us because it doesn’t look as if our MPs will.
It’s all of the above!
Amazing what you can do with a dose of cognitive dissonance.
Never assume malice where stupidity suffices.
Yes it is a start. When I read the comments of all who have written to their MP’s already I am amazed and impressed. We must not stop. They are our only hope. Just remember those who did not reply to your emails, etc at the next general election. I am old, this is about the younger generation and their children. I am fighting for them, not me.
Boris has promised that vaccine passports would only be temporary. Given how many temporary measures over the past year have become semi-permanent any MP who is taken in by this kind of reassurance should be ashamed of themselves.
I’m sure that at the begining of the year we were being told that the vaccine was our passport to freedom, not that we needed a vaccine passport to be free.
Just like the olive branch offered in March 2020 to justify the complete shutdown of Britain. It was only for three weeks. He knew then it was a complete falsehood, just as he knows now that once introduced, they would never be rescinded.
“Promised”

Considering ONS figures show only 9400 people without underlying conditions died of covid – and we don’t know what that number would in fact be if effective covid treatments had not been suppressed – nobody should need any kind of passport, vaccination or otherwise, to resume normal life in the UK
Blimey. The sense of dislocation grows as I find the kind of people I’m allied with – who’dathunk it?
We just have to hope that they dont fall for the ‘it will only be temporary’ ruse. They lied about the fact that they were considering them, and they will be lying about their ‘temporary use’.
Coerced medical treatment is unethical, it doesnt matter if it is for ten minutes or a year or forever, it is all wrong.
Well done those MPs who are standing up and doing the right thing.
Vaccine passports protect no one from anything. Vaccines can provide protection if they are good and true, vaccine passports protect nothing.
“Vaccine passports protect no one from anything. Vaccines can provide protection if they are good and true, vaccine passports protect nothing.” needs to be written as a header on every page that ever passes under an Mps nose. The other message we need to make evry strong is that f they try for pasports:
a)the vaccine rollout is over, we aren’t taking it if they keep on this way and
b)this government’s time in power is over, we aren’t obeying anything from them and will be living outside law until we get the libertarian administration we deserve
My MP is on the list, which I’m quite glad to see (though he hasn’t been vocal about it, adding an anti-tyranny voice to an anti-tyranny vote is worthwhile).
Hear hear. I’ve written to the useless Alberto Costa multiple times. His last email he reassured me there were no plans for domestic vaccine passports. I think our next email exchange will be interesting seeing as his name is not on this list.
Viccy park Sunday leicestersq?
I see that Ben Bradshaw, Labour Exeter, has already slinked off from the ranks of the converted.
Well done one and all on that list including you Diane Abbot, me enemies enemy is my friend.
For those whose MP does not appear on this list I suggest you refer them to the comments on this BBC Breakfast (no less!) Youtube.
It will give them sleepless nights.
It is time we swore our allegiance to an alternative government consisting of the honourable folks mentioned above. Charles Walker, declare yourself PM and watch us stand behind you. The 73 heroes here must know that whatever happens the people will not live under the tyranny of ID passes, if a house-of-commons rebellion fails they must get ready to walk away from negotiating with the tyrant of number 10 and start a new country-within-a-country of those of us who back freedom.
Only 73?
Needs some serious campaigning done to turn that into a majority.
If this gets through parliament we have opened the floodgates to permanent loss of our freedom
I write to my MP regularly, but we need more to do the same. Talk to friends, family and neighbours about this and get them emailing if they are against it. Even for my pro lockdown family members this is a step too far. But, unless we let MPs know they will follow like the sheep they are.
We need to remember that we live in 2021 and the definition of words are not as they appear in the dictionary any longer. For ‘social’ add anti and conversely remove ‘anti’ in the opposite. Boris claims to be a ‘libertarian’ now means petty despot. ‘Easing’ of lockdown / restrictions meaning introduce more restrictions. ‘Care’ homes just makes my blood boil. Etc Thus ‘temporary’ could mean anything but. Where I grew up they built a ‘temporary’ library building in 1962 that is still standing & in use (temporarily! Closed) today.
I attended primary school in the 70s in a temporary building put up shortly after the second world war. It was finally replaced mid 90s. 50 years!
.
Income tax act of 1842. Another ‘temporary measure’
As I assumed, though I wrote him asking him to join the group opposing the passports, my MP’s name is not on there. Sad.
Boris Johnson has stated that the vaccine will not give you back your freedom. The criteria for a pandemic was changed by WHO to enable them to call this a pandemic, it was not to save the nhs, many GP practices have already been sold off to the US, a low mortality virus has been used to bring in nwo controls.
No of course not. Nothing is likely to give us back our freedom unless there is mass disobedience. Boris stole our freedom with the assistance of the MIA MPs so we need to take it back. The WEF puppets will not take any responsibility for the total trashing of the Uk, indeed it is likely part of the nwo agenda. Boris is inept, weak and will therefore not give up his once in a life time opportunity to be ‘important’. Re nhs try #NHSNewDeal or their website justtreatment.org. Sign up and fight for real NHS.
I am celebrating, Simon Jupp MP East Devon is on the list to vote against a immunity passport. I am so proud of this man and would like to say a massive thank you. Now people write to your mp today, don’t wait. They represent you. Please let them know you do not want vaccine passports. I would prefer this gov’t put their time and effort and our money into getting the NHS back on its feet. That should be their priority, instead of wasting even more money on an unworkable expensive vaccine passport system. A passport that tells you what? You have had the vaccine but can still get the virus and transmit it. Great.
I confess to being jealous of all those lucky enough to have an MP who has ethics, morals and the courage to vote against the despot government. You can now order #NHSNewDeal resources! Fight for the real NHS.
I wish LS could start naming and shaming MPs … What happened to Huw Merriman after such a promising ‘awakening’? Climbing the greasy pole? Had the fear of God put into him by party bosses? Sally Ann Hart was never even a ‘runner’. Utterly disgraceful. Let’s name them.
Vaccine Passports, or Digital ID, as it should really be termed, is an affront to humanity, liberty and genuine freedom. It is the Western equivalent of the Chinese social credit system.
Your life will not be your own if you allow this to happen. Resistance to this heinous plan by those Globalist idiots i.e. Johnson, Hancock, Gove, is not only desirable, it is every right-thinking person’s duty. If we allow to this to happen, future generations will hold us in utter contempt.
Tyranny must always be resisted. This is tyranny staring you right in the face. It is time to resist.
Many of our MP’s are not high calibre and the social credit system has been sold as a positive for them ie exemptions for certain people
Once their ‘useful idiots’ role has been fulfilled they will be chucked under the bus along with the rest of us.
My MP is not on the list. He does have some conservative value in him so he may be another name that will be added to list.
Mine neither, have written to express my disappointment. Most likely being coerced with promises for towing the party line as he used to be a bit of a rebel and going on flag waving marches, last time, for the first time, he voted for lockdown,
They are playing on the desperation of people, now promising holidays in 6 weeks. Everyone needs to wake up, the weeks, as we have seen get stretched until they have achieved their goal or they have been stopped.
Oh what a surprise, my useless career MP for Montgomeryshire isn’t on the list! Such an ignorant wimp and thinking only of his lacklustre political career.
He’s mine too, and I totally agree with you. Have written to him loads of times over the past year and had nothing but careerist BS in response. He has voted ‘with’ Govt each time and has intimated in his responses he will continue to do so. Have given up on him and will no longer bother writing.
I am impressed with how Zarah Sultana has turned around lately. She was all in favour of locking down in December. She told me that she first and foremost voted in line with her party, not with the wishes of the people. I think she got quite a few angry emails since then, and now she’s voted against the continuation of the corona act, and against vaccine passports. Steps in the right direction.
Too bad these MPs are a minority. It’s like the 1930s all over again.
According to Boris Johnson’s so called roadmap, which he issued to prevent a group of his backbenchers from rebelling, all the coronavirus restrictions will be ended on 21 June. The government’s about-face on the covid passport issue (the latest of many) should surely show all those MPs that they cannot take anything Boris says at face value. They need to resort to the letters to Graham Brady route.
If they need this latest 180 from Boris to understand that they can’t take anything he says at face value, then they haven’t been paying attention? What happened with 2 weeks to stop the spread, or whatever the slogan was? What happened to “lockdown is the nuclear option”?
Mine is Andy Carter, one of the new intake in 2019. His name is not on the list. I won’t be voting for him again. Or indeed for any Conservatives in the local elections.
I am ashamed of my MP – Her career appears to the only important thing. It is sad such people with so little moral intelligence are voted in, Sadly I voted for her. Never Again.
