The media focus is currently centred on the booster jabs that will be given this year – starting with the over-50s and care workers – but the Government is already looking to the booster vaccine roll-outs of the future. Vaccines Minister Nadhim Zahawi says that English patients could get routine annual Covid jabs at the same time as they get their flu vaccinations. The Guardian has the story.
Scientists have warned that the NHS is likely to be under significant pressure from other seasonal illnesses as well as Covid infections.
Zahawi said he hoped the booster programme would be the “last piece of the jigsaw” to allow society to continue through the winter without lockdowns.
Speaking to BBC Radio 4’s Today programme he said: “Where possible we will try and co-administer – with one caveat – with flu. GPs and pharmacies, which are the backbone of the vaccination programme, can rapidly vaccinate lots of people.
“This is probably the last piece of the jigsaw to allow us to transition this virus from pandemic to endemic and I hope by next year we will be in a position to deal with this virus with an annual inoculation programme as we do flu.” …

In Wales, I believe (but don’t care enough to check) the regulations make no such distinction, although wales.gov tried to retcon it in after the fact: In the context of the requirements imposed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic a visor or face shield is not a face covering.

I remember saying this at the start of the pandemic – that this is a respiratory disease similar to flu, that it will develop to become another flu strain, and that it will just get incorporated into winter flu jabs for the elderly. I went on to guess that, given that the various flu strains have had a lot more experience at infecting humans, Cov-sars-2 would probably die out like the other SARS variants when strains like H1N1 out-perform them.
Of course, at that time my comments were ignored and deleted, as not in compliance with WHO expert opinion….

that visor Zhawi is wearing is genius. I can’t even theoretically think of a situation where aerosol droplets could ‘get around it’ from either his breath to the wider room or vice versa. Respiratory viruses like flu are BAD candidates for vaccines. They change rapidly, and spread via aerosols that can’t be stopped by vaccines. Flu vaccines sometimes work….

Our GP practice can’t administer the flu vaccine because it hasn’t arrived – as I discovered when I rang to alter my appointment. The harrassed receptionist said that they were having to make 400 calls to cancel appointments, and wouldn’t be making any further appointments until they had the vaccine physically in the building. How can they be expected to administer simultaneous booster jabs in these circumstances?
I have had the flu jab for the past two years, mainly because the oncology nurses recommended it. That is the lot for me – I have no intention of getting jabbed with anything that may be given at the same time as a booster for something that I have not had yet in the first place. My trust in the Government, pharmaceutical companies and the NHS has gone. At least I know that I will die from cancer – Heaven only knows what would happen to my body were it to be subjected to something that is still in a trial phase of development.

I’d been thinking about flu jabs since I turned 65. But I’m healthy, so I wasn’t convinced. The past 18 months, and Dr. Kendrick’s book ‘Doctoring Data’, which is full of accounts of pharma fakery, have been the last straw.
I’ll tell the surgery not to bother me again if they phone this year about flu jabs. Last winter they phoned to pester me for the first time since I turned 65 (obviously the pharma pressure is on them).
I pre-emptively told them in writing in 2020 that I didn’t want a COVID vac ‘for the time being’.

Latest research out of Japan saying that there are 4 expected amino acid changes to the Delta variant, each one further reducing the vaccine antibodies’ neutralising ability until the four together results in complete ‘escape’.
They number these Delta +1, Delta +2, Delta +3 (where we are now) and Delta +4 when the vaccine will be completely useless. On the plus side when it has no further effect on the virus there will be no more evolutionary pressure to create further variants and we will know what we have to live with.
Delta-265 is radioactive. You don’t want to catch that.
So that is another important piece of research binned in pursuit of universal experimental jabbing.
The piece in question demonstrated that the annual flu jab interferes with the immune system depressing its ability to handle other respiratory viruses, resulting in more rather than less respiratory disease, not ‘influenza’ but a host of other ILIs and coronaviruses.

Joking aside, it’s a VERY bad idea to have a booster. If you’ve already been injected with a gene sequence encoding spike protein, you will presumably have some ability to mount an immune response to spike.
if that is re-presented to your immune system, surely it’ll attack every cell in your body which expresses spike?
