In an unexpected development, two men seen in CCTV footage attacking police officers at Manchester airport in July have been charged by the CPS and the police officers involved have all been cleared. The Mail has the story.
Two brothers have been charged with assault following a brawl at Manchester Airport which sparked anti-police protests over the summer after partial footage was widely shared on social media.
The furore erupted in July after videos of the incident shared online showed an officer kicking 20-year-old Mohammed Amaaz during an attempted arrest of him and his 25-year-old brother Muhammed Amaad.
Tensions were raised further when their lawyer Akhmed Yakoob claimed the fracas had been an “attempted assassination”, triggering anti-police protests in the brothers’ home town of Rochdale.
But dramatic CCTV footage then revealed the three police officers had been attacked, leaving a WPC with a broken nose and another officer slumped on the floor.
Last month, with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) apparently no closer to announcing charges against the brothers, Nigel Farage hired two solicitors to bring a case against them.
He contrasted prosecutors’ slow progress with bringing charges against the pair with the ultra-fast prosecution of far-Right [sic] figures “who said unpleasant things on social media” and suggested this was evidence of a “two-tier” justice system.
But now the CPS has said the two men have been charged with assaults on police officers on July 23rd and that none of the police officers will face charges.
Mohammed Amaaz is charged with two offences of causing actual bodily harm, one charge of assaulting an emergency worker and one charge of common assault, while Muhammed Amaad, 25, is charged with causing actual bodily harm.
Today, Mr. Farage’s Reform U.K. party said the charging of two men after a disturbance at Manchester Airport was “long overdue” and claimed its legal threat had prompted prosecutors to act.
Mr. Farage and his deputy Richard Tice said in a statement today: “It’s obvious the CPS has only charged the attackers today because of the pressure applied by Reform U.K. MPs.”
They added they expect a parallel investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) to “exonerate” the police officers, adding that “Nothing less will be acceptable”.
The IOPC said its investigation into the use of force by police on six people was nearing completion.
Worth reading in full.
Only took five months.
Yet in September we learned that “a criminal investigation has been launched into who gave Manchester Airport CCTV footage to the Manchester Evening News following the police ‘stamp’ incident”.

In other news, our Toby’s bagged a peerage. If Starmer resigned today it would be the icing on the cake.
Congrats!

What the hell is all this about?
Is Kneel looking to shut Toby up?
Something isn’t kosher here.
Nominated by the leader of the Opposition it seems.
I doubt that it will have this effect, even if sometimes we feel that Toby is a little more reticent than we’d like.
I hadn’t really noticed it until now, but how weird is it for two brothers to have such similar names? Can you imagine the same in a WASP family, maybe Steven Smith and Stephen Smyth, no not really. It’s no wonder that mistakes are made in identification by officials that are obviously unbelievable examples of racism when they happen.
PS congrats to Tobes, brilliant news
It must be a Muslim thing because if it’s not ‘Mohammad’, and the umpteen variations of that name, it’s these filthy, pervert b’stards. Three sick scumbag brothers, exact same first name. How does that work exactly??
”Shaha Amran Miah, 48, Shaha Alman Miah, 47, and Shaha Joman Miah, 38, began manipulating the girls when they were aged between six and seven.
The fiends also groomed schoolgirls by plying them with gifts, alcohol and cigarettes.
They have now been convicted of a string of child sex offences following a trial at Preston Crown Court.
Jurors heard Joman and Amran sexually assaulted two girls from the age of seven while living in Leeds.”

I have a friend whose parents were Irish but moved to Wales. He is one of 7 brothers. The father and all 7 brothers had the same 2 initials which made for fun times every time a letter arrived…..
Speaking of Ireland…not looking terribly Irish nowadays;
”Donegal
African freeloader is upset that his benefits have been stopped.
He abuses staff and gets aggressive.
Deportation straight away.”

Congratulations Toby and a man who really deserves to be honoured.
What is the name of the man who really derserved his honour?
Apologies – I couldn’t help myself.
Congratulations Toby – really well deserved.
Just a bit more good news, in addition to Toby’s great news ( huge congrats, by the way ), Enoch Burke has been released from jail. He was there because he chose to be, according to the absolute prat of a judge ( FFS! );
”Teacher Enoch Burke has been released from prison but a judge has doubled a €700 a day fine previously imposed on him by the High Court for every day that he continues to turn up at the school where he had worked.Mr Justice David Nolan also directed that representatives of the Department of Finance and the Attorney General should attend court in January to explain what mechanism can be put in place to collect some €193,000 in fines now owed by him since he first breached the order to stay away from Wilson’s Hospital School in Co Westmeath.
Mr Burke continues to be paid his full salary as a teacher, pending the outcome of an appeal over his sacking, while also costing the State €80,000 a year to keep him in prison, the judge said. He was well into his second year in prison before his release today. The judge said he was in jail “because he chooses to be in jail” over some misconceived belief that he is there because of his religious beliefs. The judge said “nothing could be further from the truth” and he was in jail because he refuses to obey the law of the land.”

Their lawyer Akhmed Yakoob needs to be struck off by the SRA and charged with incitement to violence.
You are absolutely right. Pakistani Muslim lawyer Yakoob is the same one who gloated over getting a Marauding Gang of Armed Pakistani Muslim Men off with suspended sentences.
You know, like the gang of machete & sword-wielding Pakistani Muslims who were told by a Pakistani Muslim police officer to hide their weapons in the local mosque.
Pakistan, Pakistan, Pakistan, there’s that same word again, that same country, that same religion.
Shouldn’t that be “allegedly attacking police officers”, given that they’ve now (at last) been charged?
It’s difficult when there is so much video evidence to watch, the only missing link is certainty of identification.
This great news is really thanks to Nigel Farage and the Reform Party’s threat of a private prosecution, so huge congratulations to them !!!
It’s fantastic that all charges against the police officers have been dropped, but there has been a “sleight-of-hand” by the prosecutors, charging the evil Pakistani Muslim attackers with the lesser charge of “actual bodily harm”, when it should have been the more serious charge of causing “GRIEVOUS BODILY HARM”, which apparently should always be used if any bones are broken in the victim.
One police woman’s nose was broken, therefore the charges should have been
“GRIEVOUS BODILY HARM”,
and the prosecutors have been derelict in their duty.
Yes, it’s so they can be given a suspended sentence.
The Establishment was clearly concerned that Reform’s private prosecution would “have legs” and possibly succeed – so they’ve been forced to act.
I expect the “special-status” protected low-life will be let off with a suspended sentence.
Yesterday evening I was having drinks with well educated friends, none of whom had heard about the Manchester airport incident until yesterday. All they knew about from the day’s news was that men who had been kicked by policemen had been charged with assault. They had seen the kicking on the news, but heard nothing about the assaults on the police which had preceded it.
I set them straight, but I’m not sure they believed me.
God help us.
