Mark Zuckerberg: Covid Censorship Was Wrong and I Wish I’d Fought the Pressure from the Biden Administration

by Will Jones
27 August 2024 11:05 AM

Mark Zuckerberg has said Facebook and Instagram were wrong to censor posts about Covid during the pandemic and that the company should have fought pressure from the Biden administration. The Telegraph has the story.

In a letter to a U.S. committee investigating online content moderation, Mr. Zuckerberg said senior White House officials “repeatedly pressured” the company after Joe Biden was inaugurated in 2021.

He said that Facebook “made some choices” that it would not have made today.

In a letter to Jim Jordan, the Trump-supporting head of the House of Representatives’ Judiciary Committee, Mr. Zuckerberg wrote: “In 2021, senior officials from the Biden administration, including the White House, repeatedly pressured our teams for months to censor certain COVID-19 content, including humour and satire, and expressed a lot of frustration with our teams when we didn’t agree.

“Ultimately, it was our decision whether or not to take content down, and we own our decisions, including COVID-19-related changes we made to our enforcement in the wake of this pressure.

“I believe the Government pressure was wrong, and I regret that we were not more outspoken about it. I also think we made some choices that, with the benefit of hindsight and new information, we wouldn’t make today.

“Like I said to our teams at the time, I feel strongly that we should not compromise our content standards due to pressure from any administration in either direction – and we’re ready to push back if something like this happens again.”

During the pandemic, Facebook added misinformation alerts to users when they commented on or liked posts that were judged to contain false information about Covid.

It also deleted posts criticising the Covid vaccine, or suggesting that Covid was developed in a Chinese laboratory, a theory that has since become supported by some mainstream scientists and Government agencies.

In the 2020 election campaign, Mr. Biden had accused Facebook of “killing people” by not clamping down on Covid posts more enthusiastically. He later rowed back on the comments.

Mr. Zuckerberg also said Facebook was wrong to suppress a New York Post story about Hunter Biden, Mr. Biden’s son, which revealed that Hunter had offered business contacts access to his father when he was Vice President.

Worth reading in full.

Stop Press: The Telegraph has more details about how the White House attempted to browbeat Facebook into censoring content that challenged the official narrative about Covid-19 and the vaccines.

This is not particuarly new news … except it’s a new letter. The unanswered (and mostly un-asked) question is “Why Now?”

Will the Telegraph express its regret at taking Bill Gates shill during Covid. It certainly lost my custom since that day and will not get it back in the foreseeable future.

“…that were judged to contain false information about Covid.”

But actually were the truth.

Hindsight is for dummies. Try a bit of foresight Mark.

“…we’re ready to push back if something like this happens again.”

It is happening again, on a range of subjects from the US election to Ukraine to the Far Right, and we are able to watch in real time how Facebook deals with pressure from the EU and UK, let alone the Biden regime.

Are we aeriously meant to believe that a man, and his company, in a sea of information did not know the truth? Are we all some kind of genius people? How come we all knew the truth and he supported the lies? At the end of the day, that is what he did, just as he was told to do in Gates Wargames.
A mealy-mouthed semi-apology is not good enough. He has to admit he kowingly went along with lies and punished people for telling the truth.
People were beaten up by Police, people were abandoned by friends and family because of Zuckerberg et al. Mourning women were dragged by their hair off a bandstand because of him and his lying chums.
Children were frightened witless and are still traumatised and it is largely on Zuckerberg and his Social Media compadres. All they had to do was tell the truth. Is that really so hard to do? It must be, since he is still not telling the truth; he just regrets a couple of thiings.

And the result was 31 million excess deaths in the Covid period (2020-2023), of which 17 million were caused by the ‘safe and effective’ vaccines. See https://denisrancourt.ca/.

“we were just following orders”…..Even if the ‘truth’ as not established, why did he go out of his way to ensure only ONE narrative gets heard! He is a weak little runt just like a friend who is no longer because they prefer to virtue signal then think for themselves.

He said it way back in 1841.
It was true then and it’s still true now.

Rather like when you were a kid and somehow all ended up picking on another kid. Afterwards you don’t know why you did. It’s maybe a herd mentality and not wanting to be the one who is left out / different. Politicians, for obvious reasons, don’t want to be the one who says “The Emperor has no clothes” so they follow the wind of consensus even when they know it is all a lie.

Same here. I did the leader in so badly he had to be hospitalized. The teachers were horrified when they found out and I was expelled from the school. And this after years of teachers looking the other way as this brute was coming for me. They are all cowards at heart.

Not just the Scamdemic related stuff but there’s also the fact his platform is used to enable child sex abuse and trafficking, but there’ll be no arrest or investigation for somebody who sides with the government;

”WHY DON’T THEY ARREST MARK ZUCKERBERG FOR ENABLING CHILD PREDAT0RS?

Two tier policing:
Defenders of free speech are the greatest threat to the system.

Pavel Durov and Elon Musk are untamable.”

https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1827647414020211016

This comment nails it;

”Mark Zuckerberg censors the information that harms those in charge of censorship.

And those same people happen to benefit from the information that Zuckerberg permits on the platform.”

the politicos it would appear have no problem with child abuse, otherwise why would we see the multiple trafficking of young girls and abuse by gangs of men around the uk ignored due to risk of upsetting the community, why would we see that the frequenters of Epstein island are protected from exposure, why would a man who passed explicit images of children to a tv personality, get off with a years suspended sentence, whilst those who stood at a protest or re tweeted something questionable were jailed, who defended Jimmy Saville? Why are men who claim to be women allowed to go into women and girls changing rooms and watch them undress?. Why are nursery children and primary school children being exposed to education in our state schools which would once have been confined to porn channels.
IIt would appear that the establishment and the elites do not view child abuse in the same light as those of us outside their liberal, progressive circles.

They’re still putting fact check notices on posts that question the narrative, so I am not entirely convinced by this Damascene conversion.

And Google still posts a ‘covid warning’ on any Youtube video such as the excellent ones from John Campbell that discuss things like why are large numbers of people dropping dead or suffering turbo cancers and other diseases post vax. Their link goes to a page of misinformation – or lies if you prefer – on the NHS website, an organisation that killed the vast majority of those who actually died from covid.

It was despicably craven that he caved in to establishment pressure but I take his acknowledgment that he was wrong as a good sign. It means he is unlikely to do it again if the establishment springs a Bird Flu or Monkeypox “plandemic” on us, perhaps in the next couple of months to give themselves a pretext to cancel the Presidential election. Will he now come out publicly to support X and Telegram?

Would he do the same again? Of course he would, not to be trusted, no conscience, no principles and his morals are for sale to the highest bidder. The damage has been done, and not just on Covid, but his platforms supression of truth re Hunter Biden, the laptop, the lies surrounding Donald Trump, the bias towards the Democratic (ha) party to name a few of Zucks recent clampdowns on free speech. He must be worried Trump might win so he is toadying already.

He actively, willingly impacted the outcome of the 2024 election.
Playing the victim now because he thinks Trump wins in November and retribution is coming.
No mercy on him and those like him.

Are you on Twitter, Ron? What’s rather surprising is Elon Musk has just started following me as of this evening. I’m really not worth following as I never post any content, just reply to other people’s posts now and again. Maybe he’s got a target number to hit and is going round following loads of randoms. I don’t even have a profile pic, lol. I even think the word ”following” sounds a bit creepy/stalkery, to be honest.

I wonder who and/or what he’s worried about?

Because he’s certainly not made this statement for OUR benefit.

“What did you do in the war, Daddy?”

“I propagandised for the Tyrants and am therefore culpable for the millions of people who died, were injured or suffered in other ways.”
