Richard Dawkins’s Facebook account has been deleted after he posted that genetically male boxers should not fight women. The famous evolutionary biologist posted on X this morning about the shocking censorship, writing that while no reason was given for the sudden removal of the account, it seems to be linked to a post in which he’d written that “genetically male boxers such as Imane Khalif (XY undisputed) should not fight women in Olympics”. Dawkins’s tweet has so far been viewed over 10 million times.
My entire @facebook account has been deleted, seemingly (no reason given) because I tweeted that genetically male boxers such as Imane Khalif (XY undisputed) should not fight women in Olympics. Of course my opinion is open to civilised argument. But outright censorship?
(Dawkins writes that he “tweeted” the comment, but presumably the post appeared on Facebook if he suspects it as the cause of the deletion.)
Does anything sum up more perfectly the dire state of free speech today than an eminent biologist being kicked off a major social media platform for stating the plain implications of a biological fact?

Well done and THANKYOU. I will stick this on my Kindle list ready to order.
Seconded.
Sadly this is so typical of so many government departments, quangos and the like.
I am pleased to see Alan Halsall has done the important thing in naming a human actor – the then CEO of the Electoral Commission, Claire Bassett.
However, he only did this once and refers throughout the article to the Electoral Commission. It is people and not organisations which cause this kind of thing to happen.
So it is important to identify and name individuals who are responsible for what these organisations do whilst of course avoiding accusing them personally of anything inappropriate to avoid defamation claims.
If one has 100% solid documentary evidence which stands up to scrutiny it is still risky to accuse because we happen to have a corrupt judicial system. Not all judges are corrupt and no doubt the majority are not but you can’t tell which ones aren’t just by looking at them.
The scale of corruption in the judiciary can be measured by the numbers of government judge led inquiries where the judge concerned runs the inquiry in a government favourable manner.
The extraordinary bias of the current Hallett inquiry has been demonstrated repeatedly. But that is one of a long line one can consider.
As a former UKIP branch officer let me say that Alan was not alone in paying a heavy price for his activism in Brexit. Thousands paid a heavy price for lawful activism. We had members and activists in our branch and several neighbouring branches who were harassed and fearful for losing their jobs, promotion, business contracts and in a couple of cases their business’s too. These people did not have the financial cladding that Alan could call on and some were utterly ruined for their activism. I salute Alan for his role with Vote Leave and his trenchant determination to take on and clear his name against the vindictive electoral commission but let’s remember the traumas of the unsung thousands who paid a heavy price for engaging in peaceful, lawful activism.
Clearly there is a need for organisation, support, defence and lawfare against these malevolent anti-democratic forces presumably of the Establishment and of the Far Left against ordinary patriotic UK citizens of any creed, class or colour.
I spoke with a longstanding black friend today to broach a topic which is of concern.
I know black people who continue in C21 to believe they are victims of racism. And they probably are but I have not witnessed it.
And I believe them when they recount their experiences.
So I asked my friend what was his experience because I had rarely experienced overt racism myself except one occasion recently when an East-End type was overtly racially abusive to a black woman in using derogatory terms regarding her living conditions.
My friend’s response – for a black man in his 50s – was that once in a part of SE London I will not name he was called a ‘nigger’.to which his response was to laugh and say F off.
And that was it.
So I have yet to raise this with my black friends whose personal experiences they say are very different.
I want to understand the disparity and difference in experiences.
Claire Bassett – as splendid an example as one may wish of a refutation of the theory that only the best rise to the top.
A career in hopping from one quango to the next without achieving anything of note, whilst accruing riches beyond the dreams of the folk who are affected by her careless machinations. In short – a politician.
If you look at any cesspit you will see what floats to the top.
Its not the cream.
Yet another institution proving to to be biased and ideologically driven. This happens to be the one that controls our election processes. Remember, folks, how any changes we want in the country can be achieved through the ballot-box…
An election result is decided by those who count the votes.
If the Establishment had suspected the outcome of the Referendum, it would have been changed when the votes were being counted. Fortunately, the polls misled them into thinking it was in the bag.
It is difficult not to be of the view that every single office of the British state from the monarchy downwards has gone rogue.
With the greatest of respect to you Smudger – and I mean that as so many others are in the same mindset – that has been the position for a very long time.
Our civil service and apparatus of government has been captured.
My problem with this is that no one seems to care by whom or why.
Or to put it in simple terms we are all in deep shit but it is unclear why and the shit is going to get deeper and never shallower.
Don’t watch or listen to Neil Oliver if you value your will to live.
I say this not because I watch or listen but that when I do he confirms back to me what I already believe to be true.
And what is that?
We are screwed because we do not know who is screwing us or what their aims and objectives in doing so are.
And if for example you might ask: was it David Cameron? Was it George Osborne? or whoever the fact is even if they might have been players in what is to unfold they and I do not say they have, but if they have it has been as pawns in a bigger game of which they know nor understand little.
Simple enough, they are all in the pay (literally) of the WEF. 2Tstarmer even admits it, in public. Why do you think the attitude of the Con government was changed overnight, and Boris “caught” Covid nearly fatally? Because an about face which could be sold to the public was required! Why did our chief of healthcare lie openly every day on TV? The answer is above. We no longer live in a functioning democracy, and Bliar is utterly responsible and now extremely rich. Any connection, of course not, but he put all these quangos in place to steer the system with palcemen (women or whatever).
Good article; thanks.
Sue her and the electoral commission, the whole thing needs tp be exposed
That needs money and while there would be a whole host of rich leftie scumbags falling over themselves to fund it if was a leftie case, on the right – or Faaar Right – we just get tumbleweed.
Well I don’t have a spare million quid, do you? You could report it to the Police as a case of malfeasance in Public Office, but they would ignore it completely, with the aid of the CPS. Basically the LAW is now broken, and with impunity. But they will proceed if you do 23 in the new 20 zones, crazy.
Where is the AC12 for government officials, NGOs etc?
On the Commission’s web site there is a very worrying statement about selecting the commissioners.
The first paragraph on the page says
Does anyone else spot the omission?
https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/about-us/our-commissioners-and-teams/selecting-our-commissioners
Wow. Well-spotted! Getting rid of “England & the English”, step by step…
Surely that omission means they have no power over England? No taxation without representation comes to mind?
Thanks for your endeavours to the cause. One major niggle, however – I’m a little surprised that someone that understood the importance of freeing ourselves from the globalist project, and watching the same beast push back with all its might, can say this…
WE DO NOT LIVE IN A DEMOCRACY. Volunteering to hold the chains of your comrade does not make you free. The system, which includes the systems institutions, has become violently corrupt. I understand it’s difficult to unlearn decades of trust and propaganda, but it is exactly this that we must do, and do it for our children’s sake. Knowing that the system is corrupt, and expecting that same corrupt system to serve itself justice and rehabilitate itself, is the height of propaganda-fueled delusion.
“When I volunteered to help the Vote Leave campaign I genuinely thought that the Electoral Commission was an independent body which sought to promote public confidence in the democratic process and ensure its integrity. Knowing what I now know, I cannot say in all honesty that I would volunteer again. In fact, I’d run a mile.”
——-
That was the whole point. To deter you – and others- from daring to reject the Establishment’s instructions.
They did the same to Darren Grimes, now a presenter with GB News.
It is State-sanctioned bullying and intimidation. If the Electoral Commission really wanted to ensure democratic probity, they’d do something about the blatant abuse of postal voting and the Muslim block-vote it permits.
I was Treasurer of our small party for approximately 18 months late 2019 – 2021. The experience of dealing with the Electoral Commission (Elcom) was bloody awful. Throughout the period they were all “working” from home. Calls were routinely ignored. If a call was answered it was usually by the “wrong person” but helpfully a message to the correct person would be passed on and I could expect a call back. Didn’t happen.
The Elcom website certainly throughout the time I had to use it was horrendous. Multiple dead ends and pointless circuits. An absolute joke and I am used to civil service tech. One of their operatives in a rare burst of honesty admitted it was not very good.
Any questions I needed a answering were routinely ignored ot I was given false information. On one occasion I was given advice which I followed only to be told a week later that what I had done was wrong and the penalty for non compliance was prison.
Elcom – utterly, utterly useless. Rude, ignorant, incompetent, lazy and a waste of money. The worst example of British officialdom I have ever come across and that’s some achievement. The stress I went through with Elcom was worse than anything I have ever experienced in work and I was an unpaid volunteer. A dreadful experience.
Funnily enough we were a Brexit supporting party.
I wonder what overpaid public sector Ms (or is it now Mr) Claire Bassett now has. Did the Tories honour her.
I had to deal with the Electoral Commission in UKIP days and it was clearly partisan against us. It was clear to us that some of their enquiries were sponsored by the Tories.
Now Reform have more than two MPs they should get representation on a Parliamentary consultation committee where they can challenge ElComm. In addition to cutting it down to a more modest role and size Reform should commit to a detailed investigation into the past 30 years of its behaviour.
Just like the FSA/ FCA it has failed to perform its primary function but instead it pursued alternative actions which better suit its corporate and personal values.
“Claire [Bassett] is the Interim Chair and a Non-Executive Director of the Serious Fraud Office and a Non- Executive Director of the Solicitors Regulation Authority and Law Commission”.

As the Water Authorities have been finding to their cost of late, sewage always rises to the surface.
Also a trustee of the Internet Watch Foundation (a registered charity) which, in 2020/21, received a grant from the EU commission of £473,000.
Absolutely
This is appalling behaviour by the Electoral Commission in general and by Claire Bassett in particular, and needs to be looked into.
Two things that obviously didn’t get looked into, and in my opinion still need to be investigated are;
What needs to be looked at is why the Electoral Commission put so much effort into investigating pro-Leave groups and information and hardly any, if at all, effort into investigating a far dodgier pro-remain campaign.
Maybe they could make a TV drama out of the story? Oh, I see…
Claire Bassett joined the Trade Remedies Investigations Directorate in January 2019 and stepped down from her role on 31 August 2020.
Claire was the Director of the Trade Remedies Investigations Directorate of DIT and Chief Executive (Designate) of the Shadow Trade Remedies Authority.
Before that, she was Chief Executive of the Electoral Commission, the UK’s independent elections watchdog and regulator of party and election finance. Previously, Claire was Chief Executive of two other government arm’s length bodies: the Parole Board and the Criminal Cases Review Commission which investigates potential miscarriages of justice.
Earlier in her career, Claire was a Director of Nacro – the crime reduction charity and Chief Executive of Connexions Milton Keynes, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. She also held various roles at the Legal Services Commission. She began her career as a management trainee in the construction industry.
Claire is also a trustee of the Internet Watch Foundation, the charity which aims to remove child sexual abuse content from the Internet.
A propos of nothing, said charity received a grant in 2020/21 from the EU Commission of £473,000.
There are tens of thousands of Claires’ who having taken their Danegeld engage in, and prosper from, holding the whole corrupt establishment machine together.
Those who think themselves to be superior simply could not understand how we could come to such a decision: it simply had to be corrupt. They still believe that. In my opinion, if it had not been for the murder in the last weeks, ridiculously alleged to be “Far Right” and bizarrely “linked to the Leave Campaign” we would have won by 10%.
If it had not been for the untold millions the Government spent of your money (who investigated them?) it would have been 35-40%. The EU never did us any good from the very beginning but it did the likes of Claire Bassett handsomely. She will, no doubt, end up on yet another gravy train but, hopefully not an EU one.
That is, in the end, what it really was for her: dashed dreams of millions of lucre in the EU.
Excellent, eye-opening article by Brexit Warrior Alan Halsall.
He was a victim of the Globalists, whose motto is, as the great American Patriot Charlotte Iserbyt revealed:
“TARGET THE RESISTERS”
I doubt that these institutions are capable of change. They are too embroiled in the system to want to change anything that would make them less appealing to work for. The revolving door syndrome would be undermined if there was the faintest whiff of self regulation. There needs to be root and branch reform of our democratic process, but it won’t come from the top. The people themselves have to wake up and implement the change even if it means marching on the streets to show TPTB that they are not currently representing the people’s will.
A victory in the east would be worthless if our enemies in the west would meanwhile defeat our forces there or even just force them to abandon the shore of the North Sea because our most dangerous enemy isn’t Russia but England. The conspiracy against Germany stands or falls with it.
[General Erich v. Falkenhayn, chief of the German general staff 2nd OHL, letter to colonel general v. Hindenburg, supreme commander in the east, 18th of November 1914, emphasis added. Quoted after Der Weltkrieg 1914 – 1918, volume 6, page 96]
Unfortunately with Two-tier Keir in charge, it like asking Hitler to investigate the Gestapo
I also volunteered in the Vote Leave campaign (in a lowly role canvassing and leafletting) and worked out a loophole in the system which meant that those not entitled to vote would be able to vote (it still goes on). I wrote to the Electoral Commission about it and they ignored me. I happened to be canvassing with Lord Owen’s PA and she said to email her about it and she would pass it on to Lord Owen. I did and he took it up with Electoral Commission as well! He got nowhere. Probably my first shocking realisation that the system, the government and ALL our institutions are corrupt to the core. The betrayal of the vote subsequently absolutely confirmed it. No surprises I was an instant lockdown sceptic. How many Labour voters have now had the scales fall from their eyes after the recent Starmtrooper crackdown? How long until most people wake up and we drain the swamp?
The glass is half empty.
Time is already against us because you and so many others only have one eye partly opened.
You all have not realised it is the people behind the creation of the corruption in all our institutions we have little chance of identifying and even less of understanding what they have in mind for us all.
And beyond those string pullers are the people pulling their strings whose strings in turn are being pulling by the conductors of this orchestration.
Then why didn’t you include what you supposedly discovered in this comment? Just referring to it without any details helps no one.
Considering how UK electoral law works and which of the various scenarios was chosen, bussing in citizens of Commonwealt states on temporary leave to remain to vote leave, possibly in exchange for much more generous immigration rule handling for them in future had been entirely legal. And the explosion of Commonwealth aka global majority immigration certainly happened immediately afterwards. That’s one thing about this 27% decision (17.4 million of 65.61 million people) which is seriously fishy and which was particularly grating for the millions of legally resident and tax paying EU citizens in the UK who were not only declared to be illegal immigrants overnight despite they had never broken any laws but who have a strong reason to suspect that this might have been accomplished by ferrying Pakistanis etc here who never paid penny in income tax.
Ergo: Hic Rhodos, hic salta. Name what you claim to have discovered instead of just alleging that the victims of this sorry spectacle did something wrong.
Excellent article a forlorn hope at the end I fear.
Good luck with the pitching wedge!
I would very much like to know, given the Police’s shredding of the EC over this case, why the organisation – and even it’s CEO – were not prosecuted for what is clearly their malicious investigation and subsequent recommendations for prosecution?
We are all naive.
There is a level behind the level we see.
There seems to be a network of cooperation between different levels of government which seem cooperate to bring about outcomes which should not happen.
A somewhat simplistic example is the story depicted in the movie Breaker Morant.
In C21 the levels of cooperation are manifold and more sophiscated than they have ever been.
We, the proles, have no chance unless certain things come to pass. They might in the sense that Hollywood movies end with the good guy winning.
Sadly, in our world, that is a rare outcome.
