Rishi Sunak declared “now is the moment for Britain to choose its future” as he announced the General Election will be held on July 4th. The Telegraph has more.
Speaking in Downing Street in the pouring rain this afternoon, a soaked Mr. Sunak vowed to “fight for every vote” as he pitched the election as a direct battle between him and Sir Keir Starmer.
The Prime Minister took a swipe at Sir Keir and suggested his counterpart was not fit to lead the nation, claiming the Labour leader had shown “time and time again that he will take the easy way out and do anything to get power”.
The premier said: “Now is the moment for Britain to choose its future. To decide whether we want to build on the progress we have made or risk going back to square one with no plan and no certainty.”
Sir Keir hit back as he addressed the media following Mr. Sunak’s announcement. He said a vote for Labour on July 4th would be a “vote to stop the chaos”.
He described the contest as the “moment the country needs and has been waiting for”.
The announcement follows some better news on the economy as inflation returned to 2.3% with interest rate cuts on the way.
Rishi Sunak has “chosen suicide over total obliteration” by opting for a July election, Nigel Farage said.
The honorary president of Reform U.K. said in a social media video that the General Election would enable “deliverance day from a bunch of charlatans who call themselves Conservatives but govern as big state liberals”.
The former Brexit Party leader said: “The lack of professionalism is unbelievable. To stand there getting soaked in the rain, to read from the notes like a robot without passion, without belief, without vim, without vigour.
“But it sums up 14 years of conservatism, why they are going to get wiped in this election.
“But what he has done, he’s chosen suicide over total obliteration because as the months go by, it’ll get worse and worse and worse. No planes will go to Rwanda whatsoever.”

So the fake conservative pm has let in the lefty Starmer early to bring in blasphemy, speech and euthanasia laws. Seems like this election has been arranged by the deep state.
It’s not deep, it’s floated to the surface and is in plain sight.
I reckon these guys will be made up with Starmer at the helm. I’m still trying to work out if this is parody or not..

Totally effed up, no hope is there.
Democracy is the belief in the collective wisdom of individual ignorance. Was that a Chesterton quote or one by Mencken, I can’t remember? Both 100 years ago anyway.

It will be a hung Parliament, it just screams it. Nobody really wants either half of the Uniparty. Starmer, you’d at least know the outcome if you jumped off a cliff, Sunak you already live the outcome.
There is only one option that makes any sense and if you can’t see that this is the perfect time to vote Reform, well, join the Lemming Queue.
”Nobody really wants either half of the Uniparty”
Depends what you mean by “really wants”. Latest polls suggest 87% intend to vote for left wing parties (I include the Tories in that total), 11% Reform, hardly much better, 2% the rest. I wish it were otherwise. It’s the era of Big Government which will continue long after I’m gone.
That the Tories haven’t managed to find anything somebody wanted to buy their shrunken head government still controls directly since they sold “the Queen’s head” (Royal Mail, what Thatcher famously wasn’t planning to do) doesn’t exactly make it ‘big’.
By “big” I mean it intrudes into too much.
That’s a pleonasm as intrusion is already something that’s not supposed to happen, ie, there is no such thing as an acceptable level of intrusion. I think your statements is therefore equivalent to
By (too) “big”, I mean it exists.
and that’s the precise reason why the wokes rule the roost: They’re prepared to harness the power of government to further their political goals while the opposing position is pretty much restricted to “Isn’t there anything left we can still sell to someone?” This is, strictly speaking, a form of robbery because whatever assets a government has belong to the people who paid for them and not to the politicians no one can stop from “privatizing.”
The unfortunate conclusion is that so-called common people can only choose between those who want to enslave them (the so-called left) and those who want to rob them (the neoliberals transconservatives¹).
¹ The self-identify as such but what they actually want to conserve – beyond their own money – is something nobody managed to work out yet.
I think there’s a fair amount of truth in your “unfortunate conclusion”. Whatever arrangement people make for delegating functions to a body like the state is going to be imperfect. I just think the current expectation that the state should solve or try to solve all of our problems and be involved in everything is negative on balance. I will give a couple of examples – we now have (or are about to have) a “football regulator” that will be in some way appointed by/paid for by the state and there’s some kind of football governance legislation either proposed or already law. Another example is my least unfavourite MP Sir Desmond Swayne who thinks mobile phones are bad for kids (I happen to agree) but wants it to be made illegal for kids to be sold them. There are certain things it makes sense for the state to do, but IMO not as many as seems to be the expectation now. I am out of step with current thinking.
Swayne was a hero, until the jab rollout that is!
He voted against vaxx passes and I think he also voted against mandates for healthcare and care home voters, but he was “pro-vaxx” yes which was disappointing.
In that case I can live with that.
His blog is usually quite sensible though I did disagree with him on banning mobile phones for kids – much as I think mobiles are dangerous I think it is just more nanny state stuff.
His speech in the Commons when he referred to following what everyone else was doing about “Covid” as “herd stupidity” was a rare moment of relief in those dark days
The trouble with the present (Western) system of self-governing parliaments is that the sole real yardstick all proposed policies are measured against is “Is this popular enough to help us with the next election?” That’s where stuff like football regulators come from. Instead of someone saying “These are private people forming private organizations for their private entertainment and the state has no business interfering with that.” I competely agree with you regarding that.
Sadly true. I must try harder to persuade my fellow citizens to think more like me.
Polls don’t mean anything much, generally they come back with the commissioned result. When was one last right? I honestly can’t remember.
I doubt the result will be significantly different from the polls. From my POV, most people will vote for parties that are light years away from my ideas.
If it is on Policy I choose Reform. But I am waiting to see what the polls say. My instinct is to want to bloody the nose of the fake conservatives, but what would be worse would be Labour. —–Oh dear what to do what to do? ——-Will it make any bloody difference anyway, as these politicians are all taking their instructions from all the globalists anyway? Their hands are all tied behind their backs by International treaties and agreements.
Voting Reform UK may be as close as I can get to registering my support for the restoration of conservatism so that’s where my vote goes.
I am suspicious that they are (or would become) controlled opposition. They may be put into place. Tice has already been to Ukraine. He mentions Tories & Labour both socialism; he has an opportunity to hit them both where it hurts and call them out for what they are: Globalist puppets.
I want absolute zero immigration, not net zero. And they want to give more money to the NHS!
Strewth, I wonder if it’ll be as bad under Starmer as what I envision. All will be revealed. Well the Khant and his ilk will no doubt be overjoyed, as will the crims of London now they know the police will leave them even more alone than they were already with this latest news. It does make you wonder what’s gone wrong in society if this is the state of play though ( although I’ve got a hypothesis up my sleeve ), and I’m not buying this ‘blame everything on the Scamdemic’ tactic either. I wonder if this means they’ll stop rocking up at people’s homes because they’ve been declared ‘enemies of the Left’ and misgendered someone online while having a pic of a Union Jack in their bio;
”Police are being told to make fewer arrests because of the lack of space in prisons, The Times can reveal.
Chief constables are being advised to consider pausing “non-priority arrests”, and also to suspend operations that may trigger “large numbers of arrests”, until there is enough capacity in prisons across England and Wales.
The measures, which emerged in an internal document drawn up by the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC), are the latest consequence of the prisons overcrowding crisis.
The prison population increased by 5,200 in the year to June 2023 because of the ongoing impact of the Covid pandemic, the barristers’ strike and tougher sentencing laws. The rise has outstripped an increase in the capacity of cells.
The advice to police to scale back arrests marks another escalation in the crisis and is likely to further hamper Rishi Sunak’s efforts to restore the Conservative’s reputation as the party of law and order.”

It’s bad enough with Khant still in charge for another 5 years but now we’re hearing the police are being instructed to make fewer arrests, how exactly is that meant to work as a deterrent? Well it isn’t is it? Crime is just going to get worse and the police are now completely disincentivized in doing their actual job. I wish I could say this is an exception but if I’m not getting stabbings or attempted stabbings in my feed it’s paedophile hunters apprehending paedos, the latter thought they were meeting up with underage girls after online exchanges in chat rooms, or it’s chavs on bikes robbing people in the street or gangs of non-white yobs beating up a white person. Just one example from today, but it’s only a matter of time before there’s another major incident resulting in multiple deaths, with crazies like this on the loose. Says in the comments he was arrested then released on bail, FFS;
”Happened in clerkenwell today a man chased 2 people with a. Knife tried to stab them but was pinned down by the two people..”

If we had proper sentencing instead of the mamby pamby social justice sentencing that tries to rehabilitate everybody except Harold Shipman and Ian Huntly then the criminal class would have said to themselves “No way am I going down for 30 years”, and we would have lees of the scum locked up, but instead we have them not worrying at all about getting caught for anything, except maybe swearing at a Muslim, which according to the left is worse than taking a baseball bat to your gran.

“ Well, the nancy boys of GB News have decided – a year-and-a-half late – to butch up against Ofcom. Sir Jacob Rees-Mogadon, a presenter who only has his show because the UK censor got rid of his predecessor, is now a-huffin’ an’ a-puffin’ almost as unconvincingly as Nigel. Are the Blowhard Boys actually appealing the latest Ofcom ruling, or just mouthing off?”
Stockpile for an imminent crisis. DS haven’t mentioned this!

What sort of utter, utter Next Tuesday stands in the rain outside no 10 to announce a G E?
How much firkin lower can we go ?
There’s no deadly pandemic at the moment so no need to hold press conferences indoors in an enclosed space.
I think it’s a cute English custom. “Put the kettle on, dear. I think I’ll just nip out and call a GE. Oh, and start think about our summer holiday.” Or John Major’s soapbox. Contrast the US system in which everybody knows when elections are and how the complex machinery of nominations, primaries and all the carnivals and rallies work. It goes with the custom of cobbling together polling stations from 1950s
signage, bits of 4 by 2, and antique trestle tables, rather than voting machines, hanging chads, brass bands and vote stuffing.
I think it’s much better than the American system, as one elderly American Patriot once explained during Trump’s term in office:
“These presidents are all the same. They spend their first year in office just coasting, then the next three years trying to get re-elected.”
The answer to your question is, perhaps, that a true “wet” wouldn’t notice it was raining.
I find it amazing that this incredibly wealthy man does not possess a raincoat.
Or an umbrella
Or the commonsense to move his announcement to an indoors venue.
Or hire an architect to modernise the Downing Street stage with proper protective cover. No shortage of outdoor events there. The journalists would be happy with that.
“The UK is to have a general election in July in which we get to choose whether a blue or red party continues helping Israel bomb and starve children in Gaza.”
Jonathan Cook, journalist
Thanks Jonathan.
You forgot to add about supplying arm to Ukraine.
“Now is the time to choose” not a government to govern the nation, but which bunch of local administrators taking their instructions from the UN, the WEF, the WHO, environmental commie groups pretending to save the planet and all the other Liberal Progressive clutter that tells us to accept every illegal alien who happens to find their way here. We are not voting for a government. We are only choosing which bunch of UN lackeys to give the keys of Number 10 to
Indeed. Get ready for Rona scam 2.0; the Climate Lockdown, more invaders, and the further demonisation of whites and Christians via blasphemy ie ‘online harm’ bills etc.
Sunak…”people coming in illegally, I don’t think it is fair”….Well fu@k me they have had 14 years of lying to the British public about keeping immigration to the tens of thousands. He seems to enjoy pissing on the back of the British public to tell them it’s raining!
Spot on.
I just heard that pillock Ed Davey say “The nation is crying out for change”. ——-What do these handwringers mean by “change”? ——-It attempts to sound like it means something, but means NOTHING. None of these parasites are fit to tell the rest of us how to live our lives.
Just changing up a gear on all the Globalist policies.
Standing there in a downpour and doing nothing to stop the soaking is a fitting metaphor for what the Not-a-Conservative-Party has done to this country over the past 14 years … and particularly the last 4.
They need to be euthanized.
Terrific
My paper Debunking the climate change hoax is all of a sudden very topical now that Sunak has called a general election. It warns against voting for the Net Zero-supporting Uniparty.
https://metatron.substack.com/p/debunking-the-climate-change-hoax
A good read. Thanks for the link.
Thanks for that, but I have lectured everyone on here like a broken record with all what you just said in your paper for almost the last 2 years here on the Daily Sceptic. A lot of the regulars on here will have often said to themselves “Oh look Varmint is on his climate change high horse again”, but just as the climate establishment keep repeating over and over their climate emergency messages then so to must all the rest of us who realised this is a globalist scam 20 years keep harping on till hopefully at least some people realise they are been sold down the climate change river with policies designed to remove their standard of living in line with UN Sustainable Development nonsense that thinks our standard of living is too high while pretending it all about the climate, with not a shred of empirical evidence.
A good advertisement for the need for Net Zero policies… and also to show that the alternative, opening an umbrella, is beyond our present generation of politicians.
It’s sadly the case that the great majority of the UK public have been brainwashed into accepting Lefty progressivism. Let’s not kid ourselves. Reform is failing to cut through. Perhaps we should rejoin the EU and catch up with the populist current there!
Or apply for Dutch Nationality
“Now is the moment” HELLO we chose & gave you a landslide in 2019 ! You utter flaky fake Prime Minister !
Bunch of Globalist traitors I would call them.
Nigel’s decision not to even turn up at the Reform Party’s election launch today, after declaring that he will focus instead on helping the AntiChrist Drumpf get elected in America (what???!!!), after thinking about it overnight, makes you wonder if someone offered him a knighthood to try to destroy the fourth patriotic party (after destroying the BNP, UKIP & Brexit).
But Richard Tice still went ahead boldly, backed by the indefatigable Anne Widdecombe, who would make a much better Deputy Reform Leader than the bizarre choice of yet another Pakistani, Habib, busy elbowing out the Co-Deputy Leader, David Bull.
Good news is that the Traditional Unionist Voice Party of Northern Ireland (TUV) have made an election pact with Richard Tice to agree on candidates there, so they will not feel left out of the UK general election. This will also complete Richard Tice’s courageous vow to field candidates in every UK constituency, with absolutely no forcing candidates to withdraw or kneel to “tactical voting”.
Two great quotes against “tactical voting” from the public comments today in the Daily Mail:
“I don’t trust anything with LibLabCon in it. They sold us out, gutted our nations and brought unending millions of migrants and let violent crime run rampant and told us we must accept it all. NO! They can call us whatever they like. Far Right? Really? Fine.”
“We can start the wind of change. Be brave, let’s unite Britain once and for all and protect what was once ours.”
Yes I totally agree. But I feel a bit like Hiter in his bunker as the Russians are storming all over Berlin when Albert Speer told him “My Fuhrer, the war is lost”————Hitler loved Speer and instead of having him shot he said to him “Please tell me if you HOPE the war can still be won”. —–I hope it can as well but I fear it is LOST.
Sigh. Hitler was an Illuminati Agent, whose task was to invade 20 countries to start WW2 and help the Globalist Depopulation Plan. His deliberate bungling of the war was so disastrous that his own German generals tried to assassinate him several times, to save the German people from destruction.
He faked his own death and escaped to the Illuminati Hideout called “Andinia” with Eva Braun, helped by his Soviet allies. See Henry Makow’s many articles on this.
M A G A!
Habib sounds more articulate to me, Tice is mates with Hand cock and thought care workers should be made to take the experimental or lose their job. There was said to be a shortfall of 100K care workers after that. Tice has already been to Ukraine but not sure what Habib thinks of that. Habib does not take kindly to emotive language from the left and thinks if pushing Boats back and they deliberately throw themselves in, they should tempt their own fate. That would break the back of the illegal cartel in a heartbeat.
We don’t want to be like Scotland, having a Pakistani Muslim shoehorned in as Prime Minister against the democratic will of the Scottish People, after the Indigenous Scot stepped down to enable him.
Is Englishman Richard Tice planning to do the same thing, step down to enable Yet Another Pakistani Muslim to seize power?
How can so many people be so appallingly gullible?
Habib is one of the very few politicians I agree with. There are very few that sound right wing anymore but Braverman, Anderson and Habib certainly do
Well, you can just swap him for Humza in your native Scotland, swapping one Pakistani Muslim for another.
Just keep naively believing everything he says.
I don’t believe anything anyone says mate. ——-I said Habib sounds right wing to me and I agree with a lot of what he says. Humza and Habib are different animals
No, they’re not. They’re just pretending to be.
Can you not see that the Third World invaders come to the West with one goal, as someone said: To install themselves and their offspring into the ruling class.
And why the blazes can’t we have AN ACTUAL ENGLISHMAN as Deputy Leader of the Reform UK Party? Or a Welshman? Or a Northern Irishman traditionally, faithfully and religiously LOYAL to the United Kingdom? We’ve already had far too many Scots running the country— just look at the list of past Prime Ministers, and what they did.
Why complain about Third World Invasion while at the same time encouraging them in our government, just because they are adept at spouting the things we want to hear?
The Third World lobbyists like Habib have already quietly persuaded Richard Tice to water down his splendid “Net Zero Migration” policy to the newly announced “Smart Migration”, encouraging totally incompetent, lascivious Third World doctors, nurses with fake qualifications like those 700 Nigerians hired by the NHS, blah, blah, blah.
I don’t think Habib is Muslim.
Regardless of that, since Pakistanis in Pakistan would most sensibly object to some blond Swedish man representing them in the Pakistani Parliament, so can we.
Looks like Sushi was being dissolved along with Parliament.
So – a Labour Government – I feel better already.
Labour in Government to prove the maxim: nothing’s so bad it can’t get worse.
Some old sheep on Five Live….They brought Brexit to deregulate everything”….and transfer wealth to the richest few”…..I think the latter should be charged at Lockdowns mate!
Whoa! Please have a look at this staggering comment from a Breitbart news item on the sudden UK election announcement:
“Not going to happen.
Neither the UK PTB nor the USA Deep State want to lose their current status and 4th July is a perfect date for ‘something’ to occur beforehand to have both events cancelled in the name of National Security.
Global financial crisis? Pandemic Mk2? NATO in Ukraine? M.E war? Taiwan?
There are plenty of ‘excuses’ to prevent debates and elections from happening, and given the way the Globalists are panicking over their loss of control, I see no reason why they couldn’t/wouldn’t fabricate a scenario to stop them all.
Any coincidence the UK Government have just launched their ‘preparedness’ website???”
And the sudden government warning to the public to have three days emergency supplies…??
And Sunak suddenly raising the spectre of nuclear war with Russia, and declaring that only he would be able to deal with it??
I too am suspicious of this ‘preparedness’ website, and not many people even on the freedom side are paying much attention to it. As long as the state has a monopoly of firepower over the citizens, we will be on the back foot.
I’m glad that at least you on here are taking it seriously. Elsewhere some have said “the emergency” will involve sending the last remnants of our own British troops abroad, as a pretext for putting the dinghy mob in special paramilitary uniforms to act as emergency services “assisting” the British people in “the emergency” (Lockdown Enforcers?). Ditto everywhere else in the West.
I don’t believe nuclear weapons exist, but there are other ways of convincing the public that they do, such as firebombing like Hiroshima, practiced at Dresden.
Who knows? But “Forewarned is Forearmed”, as they say. And as an old hymn says,
“Courage, brother! Do not stumble,
Though your path be dark as night.
There’s a star to guide the humble:
Trust in God and do the right…”
