I signed the October declaration for the sake of British Jews who tend not to cause trouble on the streets, call for jihad or threaten my way of life. Mega-powerful Jewish dynasties have exercised corrupting influence in the world but so have non- Jewish ones. I don’t hold citizens who are Jewish responsible for the sins of the Israel government, any more than my neighbours for our own corrupt lot. I can’t get to the march but I wish it well.
Maybe try attending either of the marches Jane. At the Gaza ceasefire marches, nobody is ‘calling for Jihad’ (which means struggle BTW) and there is no ‘scorching anti-Semitism’. In fact many Jewish people (and organisations) also attend, which you’d know if you were talking from first hand experience.

Why are some Jewish people more fearful than others? Reining in the desire (albeit as an unwitting State tool or otherwise) to fan the flames of hatred and division might be a good place to start in reducing the re-triggering of traumas that many (if not all) Jews continue to experience courtesy of a history of expulsion, Statelessness and extermination.
