V&A children’s museum has a display of protest and political campaign posters. Also a promotion text for Extinction Rebellion.

there is no poster or narrative about Brexit, restricting immigration or saving girls from rape. Museum Trustees need to be held to account – ie, fired.

Labour women’s conference hit by outcry over ban on trans delegates

Why does Labour hold a Women’s Conference ‘on Saturday, on the eve of the main conference’?

Not at the main conference, obviously.

I’m reminded of Morgan Freeman talking about Black History Month. His point was that history is history and relegating black or any other history to one month is patronising.

Is there enough Black history to fill a minute, never mind a month?

“Matt Brittin, the BBC’s top executive”
The Brittin Empire? A blast from the past… Expect hopeless management initiatives and demotivated staff.

“Dale Vince has [left] his climate allies baffled”
Must be the heat induced by El Ninho and that climate change stuff.

Pooter’s revenge:

‘The Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Civil Service is responsible for:

1) Leading official delivery of the Government’s and Prime Minister’s priorities in support of the Government

2) Acting as the Prime Minister’s principal policy adviser…’

And this is what Mr/Ms Pooter has advised the Prime Minister to do:

‘Rewiring the State says: “Central government must become smaller and more strategic, releasing savings and enabling resources to be transferred to local areas alongside policy responsibilities. Where powers and functions are transferred, we will not duplicate them.’

Yes, Mr/Ms Pooter, you will duplicate them. You know you will. You always do:

‘…moving between departments and the wider public sector will be a routine fact of life for civil servants.’

You will simply change certain ‘civil servant’ titles for ‘local government official’ titles as and when convenient…to make the civil service look smaller.

Nothing about this was in any manifesto. No-one voted for this. In fact, when given the opportunity, most voted against it (*see below).

Only a purblind fool could think that the answer to Britain’s problems is more hopeless Pooters spread about the place…

‘The deputy prime minister, John Prescott, tonight experienced the bitter taste of defeat after the north-east overwhelmingly rejected his dream of an elected regional assembly on his doorstep.

Over three-quarters of voters showed themselves unwilling to test out devolution, voting against the proposal by a majority of 499,209 on a turnout of 47.8% of the region’s 1.9m electorate.

696,519 (77.93%) voted against devolution, with only 197,310 (22.07%) voting in favour of an elected regional assembly to give the region a stronger voice.’ 2004

Mrs Doyle: (puzzled, short pause after someone refuses tea)… Ah, you’ll have one anyway.
