Nigel Farage has accused Labour of “losing control of our borders” after Education Secretary Lucy Powell admitted not every boat could be stopped, on a day where 780 more illegal migrants arrived on Britain’s shores. GB News has the story.

Education Secretary Lucy Powell said “[You] can’t stop everything all of the time”, the day after 21 people were detained when a boat evaded Border Force to reach the beach of Samphire Hoe in Dover.

She told GB News: “Small boat crossings remain a challenge, but we have seen a significant fall this year in the number of people coming across on small boats thanks to the range of measures that this Government has brought into effect.

“It does require a huge range of measures to do that, from dealing with things at source, from tackling people coming here in the first place, from the pull factors, from having strong border security, from having the tough powers that we need to detain to deport people.

“All of these things which this Government has done over the last two years, are starting to bear fruit, with significant falls in the number of small boat crossings and a significant fall in the number of asylum hotels and accommodation around the country as well.

“But more needs to be done and we’ll continue to do it.”

Reacting to the news, the Reform UK leader said: “Multiple boats even arrived undetected. It’s insane! Labour have totally lost control of our borders.

“Reform will put the Royal Navy in the Channel and return every illegal to France.”

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, who has ordered an urgent review by the Border Security Command, said the failure to intercept the two boats was “not acceptable”.

It’s the worst day in the Channel so far for Andy Burnham:

Over 780 illegal migrants have arrived in the UK on the worst day recorded since Andy Burnham replaced Sir Keir Starmer as Prime Minister.

A total of 781 migrants arrived in the UK after crossing the waterway.

The cumulative number of arrivals by small boats in 2026 now stands at 18,565, according to provisional figures from the Home Office.

This is down 42% on the equivalent point last year, when the total stood at 32,188.

The latest figures showed [10] boats arrived on Wednesday, which suggests an average of 78 people per boat

Build internment camps, look how quickly the “nightingale Hospitals” went up.
Stop all benefits to non British passport holders with immediate effect.
Stop all access to free healthcare, schools etc for non British passport holders.
provide basic food, healthcare and clothing but no luxuries such as mobile phones to the interred.
Deport immediately to either France or a 3rd Country if they refuse to state where they came from. I am sure Afghanistan would take them.
Do those things which could be done in a matter of months and watch how quickly they choose not to come here.

Powell says the Government is tackling the pull factors. Looking at the damage being done to our economy, I have to agree with her.

They haven’t stopped any boats.

What she really meant was “we’re really jolly cross that two boats got here without using our free ferry service.”

Yes, it falls outside the Agenda 2030 requirement for managed migration. It must be managed.

I didn’t think any of the boats were ever stopped, and I am sure there are many more illegals than the ones we are told about, who arrive undetected or overstay their visa undetected (do we even track people overstaying their visas?)

Just a thought – could a legal case be made to allow for the citizens arrest of the Police, home office officials, NGOs and RNLI for people trafficking?

They are only upset the boats got through as they can be deported immediately that way, (no excuse to keep them) if they are collected they are considered irregular passengers or some such BS and as such can claim asylum. This is why our Government ferries them over from midway.

“Minister Admits Not Every Boat Can Be Stopped” well I will take anything they can do. But we all know they are doing the opposite.

The government clearly not prepared to do anything to stop this invasion (actually they’re facilitating it), meanwhile they arrest the only man trying to stop the boats.

And throw him in prison for two years as an example in a matter of days.
Or is that someone else? Why don’t civilians defending our borders call themselves “The Home Guard” ? There is a precedent for this. See 1939-1945.

I was referring to Danny “Tommo” Thomson, however I just saw the case you are referring to…

Which is frankly insane – 2 yrs + in jail for throwing a plastic bottle and shouting at Police.

Meanwhile, illegal migrants (criminals) get free stuff paid for by us and the people traffickers aka, the Home Office, RNLI, the Police just carry on unhindered.

From the BBC
The charge – ‘suspicion of -destroying ships or fixed platforms or endangering their safety under Section 11 of the Aviation and Maritime Security Act 1990’.

Ship – a major water vessel built to carry cargo or passengers over open water, generally larger than a boat. – I don’t think so!
Fixed platforms – No
Endangering their safety – No – they had already been evacuated and no one was expected to return home in this unsafe inflatable. The Frenchman would only have been in danger if there were no rescue boats ( he could have taken his pick from about 5 ).
Criminal damage, – ‘criminal damage with intent to endanger life, and conduct endangering ships, structures or individuals under Section 58 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995.’

Criminal damage – to whose property? If it is somebody’s property – how many have Border Force returned so far?
Intent – since the warning was given to evacuate the boat – there was no intent to endanger life.

This is a vexatious charge and should be considered far more leniently than the charge of facilitating illegal entry into the UK by the UK and French authorities.

It’s not even clear from the video that he managed anything more than scraping the surface of the dinghy a little bit.

Of course they’ll throw the book at him – and make it stick. I’m expecting 5+ years in jail.

This of course will only increase public anger, frustration and animosity towards the police/Government/RNLI etc.

It will only hasten the slide towards full on violence.

THE POLICE ARE YOUR ENEMY.

Prepare accordingly.

Whatever he did it will be illegal once the Labour Party has passed retrospective legislation to make it so.

It is clear that he was not being punished for the offence but as a warning to others. Where is the law on this?

It’s seems more akin to a medieval serf being thrown into the dungeons for failing to bow low enough to his Lordship.
