Free Speech Fears as PM Launches “National Centre for Information Defence” to Wage War on “Untrue Narratives”

Andy Burnham has announced plans for a new “National Centre for Information Defence” to fight so-called “disinformation” as he blamed Russia for “amplifying far Right narratives”, prompting fresh fears for free speech. GB News has more.

The Prime Minister, addressing the United Nations, announced the centre to improve “community cohesion” and prevent a “distorted and untrue narrative about Britain”.

He has ordered security chiefs to set up the quango, which will detect, attribute and disrupt “hostile information attacks” and “deepfakes” which hurt British interests.

It is initially being led out of the Office for the Prime Minister and Cabinet, with the new centre working alongside intelligence agencies, Government departments, the police and social media firms.

He told the UN there was no “national security without a strong, cohesive society”.

“That’s the starting point for everything we hold dear and everything we want to achieve,” he added.

“But the fact is that it has been under attack.”

Burnham then accused Russia of engaging in a “industrial-scale assault by hostile actors on the information environment”.

He added that Vladimir Putin’s men had used “every means at their disposal to spread lies and disinformation and prey on people’s fears”.

“They’ve used bots and fake websites,” the Prime Minister said. “Falsified newspaper articles and forged the branding of 28 British organisations – including universities and the BBC.

“They’ve amplified far Right narratives. And we have evidence that they tried to interfere with the 2019 General Election.”

Russia has previously been accused of using illicitly-acquired documents about UK-US trade talks to try to influence the 2019 vote.

Burnham also claimed Moscow tried to “stoke tensions and unrest in the wake of horrific events”, describing the actions as “repulsive”.

Burnham also claimed Moscow tried to “stoke tensions and unrest in the wake of horrific events”, describing the actions as “repulsive”.

“In fact, Trump has already spoken out against these kinds of regulations, which will be used, of course, to control freedom of speech.”

I, for one, welcome the “National Centre for Information Defence”  because will make it easier to identify government propaganda. A more concentrated resource than the BBC perhaps?

So there’s no amplifying Faaah Left or Net Zero “narratives” which are destroying our manufacturing base, I suppose.

The Ministry of Truth is born. Only left wing opinions are allowed.

George Orwell was not concerned that the news reports did not cover every single detail but that they used language and omission to make lies respectable and attack the very idea that independent reality exists. It is as plane as day with Burnham.

We don’t have free speech in the U.K.

This has been the case for a long time under both Labour, Conservative and Lib-Con governments

A government only does this when its worried. And has things to hide.

I assume that the first recommendation from this new National Centre will be for the government to shut down and dissolve the BBC, given the non-stop stream of lies and distortions they broadcast to the whole country during the covid bollox years and the subsequent roll out and mandating of the death jabs. Yes / no ??

I rather expect that the “National Centre for Information Defence” will use the BBC as a raw resource.

“… and prevent a “distorted and untrue narrative about Britain”.

That we are multicultural, diversity enriched paradise with British Whites in raptures?

“…centre to improve “community cohesion”… by banning our flags, labelling White people Far Right, Fascists, racists, thugs, White Privileged, White Supremacists, treating us a second class citizens.

So Andy the dimwit will employ the security services whose main purpose is to Lie. I understand the Yanks are employing similar measures. I think it was Prof. David Gibbs of a university in Arizona. I’ll see if I can find the article or maybe it was a video. But clearly this is another conspiracy!

Here’s a link. It’s really interesting but quite long. There is a bit where he explicitly states that the manipulation has increased to combat misinformation.

there is another video posted about 3 hours ago which I’ll watch. But it’s becoming clearer by the day that MI6 and associated agencies are operating against the interests of the population.

Burnham “blamed Russia for “amplifying Far Right Narratives”.

WHAT!!!???

The last time I checked, Russia was still a COMMUNIST DICTATORSHIP, so how in blazes can Communist Burnham blame Communist Russia for “amplifying Far Right Narratives”???

This really shows how desperate the Satanic Communist Globalist Mafia are to drag the West into war against Communist Russia, for no other purpose than to continue slaughtering millions of White Men in the Meatgrinder War, while installing a Muslim Army of Depraved Criminal Africans into every nook and cranny of the West.

There is no Russian disinformation, only the truth.
The UK government and their presstitutes in the main stream media will be pleased that most people have believed their lies, propaganda and omissions of the truth.

National Centre for Ideology Defence.

Why can’t they just have the guts to say “We wish to censor all viewpoints which do not align with our own”?

Well, we know why, it’s because they know the majority of the electorate would disagree with such an idea. So they are therefore, by obfuscation, behaving undemocratically.

It is high time these people were reminded who they are supposed to work for, because in reality it seems as though they are working for an entirely different agency altogether.

“national security without a strong, cohesive society”. He won’t get a strong, cohesive society if he keeps importing thousands of military age r@p€ jihadists who need a government produced leaflet and training courses to tell them not to r@p€ indigenous white women and girls. And men apparently.

Speaking as someone who has often been accused of being a Russian bot living on the shore of Lake Ladoga by people on this forum and Daily Telegraph (I am in fact an 80 year old living in Cheshire who has spent a significant part of his life working on national defence projects), I am sceptical the the government can distinguish between someone with an inconvenient view and provider of Russian dis/misinformation. Hence my alias.
More of a problem are those who blindly repeat the government line, even when it is contradicted by self-evident facts.

There are many more of his persuasion in the DT, and he does contibute other stuff which is more normal than many on the Telegraph who are one track ponies, to misquote the descriptor.

Who among us would trust a government on censorship when it quite clearly is prepared to incite a civil war with its own people over criminals who arrive illegally in this country as shown by its actions yesterday. The cost to the taxpayer of the massive police convoy to take the criminals into a life of cushy luxury while without a trace of irony – as you would expect from Far Left scum – the Guardian is bleating about poor households on housing benefit are finding the payouts coming up short. The latest scum to arrive will be costing taxpayers another £8bn.

I am a free thinker, with eyes and ears to see what is going on and assess what I believe and disbelieve. I don’t need a Government department to vet the information for me. I see an awful lot of rubbish on Substack and Guido. I know it’s rubbish because I go to other sources to assess the veracity. Most is from the left not the right. Strangely, I struggle to find anything here that doesn’t stand up to scrutiny.

This morning, GBNews was judged to be the most trusted TV channel for news and was instantly attacked by left wingers questioning its reporting (they obviously never watch it, because they would know how many socialists appear). It was also attacked for losing money, which is hilarious when you consider the evil campaigns waged against their advertisers, scaring off all but the most resilient. And where does that campaign of hate come from, not the right but that evil bunch of scumbags Hope Not Hate.

Just so Burnham knows, we can see the migrant boat crossings, we can see how they are housed, we feel the pain of energy bills, the cost of living, the level of taxation.… Read more »

It could be satire if it wasn’t so important, but the day the Cock of the North demands information “integrity” with the other hand the Government insists that Official Information about crime statistics by nationality/ethnicity shouldn’t be released because its against the interests of the criminals.

Nothing demonstrates better that under the Ministry of Truth, you will only be given the information the Government wants you to get.

“He told the UN there was no “national security without a strong, cohesive society”.”
So why do we pander to, and import members of, a parallel society which it clearly states has no allegiance to this country.

Strong cohesive, stable societies are monocultures because it is culture upon which a society of common language, shared morals, values, ethics, manners, heritage, history, outlook and law is built and it is these things which are the glue for social cohesion.

Is it really the case Andy Capp and his bedfellows really do not know and understand this? Are they really so thick? Maybe.

Introducing competing cultures can only lead to fragmentation, conflict and ultimately warfare, as the history of the World records.
