Trans Green Party Activist Elected to Women’s Role

A male transgender activist has been elected as a female representative on the Green Party’s ruling body, prompting gender-critical party members to consider legal action. The Telegraph has more.

Eleanora Folan, who self-describes as a “proud anti-Zionist trans woman”, won a vote last month to represent East Anglia on the party’s governing council.

However, gender-critical party members said the result contravened last year’s Supreme Court ruling that “woman” and “sex” in the Equality Act 2010 referred to biological sex. They are consulting lawyers, according to reports.

Folan, from Norwich, was elected to the Greens’ council last month by members in East Anglia. In a message confirming victory, Folan claimed to be a “proud anti-Zionist trans woman” committed to building a “radical anti-imperialist Green Party”.

Jude English, a Co-Chairman of Green Party Women and a Director of the Green Women’s Declaration, said party leadership “cannot simply ignore the law”.

She told the Times: “Following the Supreme Court judgment, we believe the law is clear about the meaning of sex, yet the Green Party has made no meaningful attempt to review its rules or practices and has instead continued to act as though nothing has changed. This is not an isolated concern.

“The party is currently facing several court cases because it has repeatedly broken equality law. The leadership cannot simply ignore the law because it disagrees with it, and it cannot claim women’s rights are being protected while allowing a women’s position to be filled in this way.

“The party has been repeatedly warned about these issues. This is an especially blatant example of why women in the Green Party have lost confidence in its willingness to protect their rights.”

Worth reading in full.

Stop Press: Folan has now been suspended from the party.

Another good example of why the Green party is so unpopular.

Loving that cabbage-colour hair!
As statements go, it’s indecipherable.

I can’t seem to see anywhere exactly what position in the Mad Greens he’s been given?
It implies he’s got a “women’s job”, which I didn’t think existed?

A transgender sporting a keffiyeh scarf is like turkeys wearing Santa hats.
Does this weirdo know what Hamas Palestinians do to LGPTQ and trans?

“Openly identifying as transgender or queer in the Gaza Strip is extremely dangerous because Hamas rules the territory under strict laws that treat homosexual acts and open non-traditional gender expression as severe crimes.
Queer individuals and transgenders risk arrest, physical torture, public floggings, and extrajudicial or honour killings.”

So this weirdo bloke is a “proud anti-Zionist trans woman” committed to building a “radical anti-imperialist Green Party”

Excellent. He will fit in nicely.

How much longer are females going to tolerate this cultural and factual misappropriation of their sex? Likewise vice-versa, but with less serious ramifications for sport etc. It is just as offensive as blackface, if not more so, and completely unacceptable. A male has no idea what it is to be a female, has never experienced female existence, and no matter how he mutilates his body with drugs and/or surgery never will, neither can he alter his male XY chromosomes. And vice-versa. It is deeply insulting to assume the identity of someone you are not and a person who attempts to deceive others by assuming a false identity is an impostor. It is high time people who fake an opposite sex to the one in which they were conceived are treated with exactly the same condemnation as with any other kind of cultural (mis)appropriation. It is actually surprising that society has tolerated this state of affairs for as long as it has.

Blackface and Drag are OK – just an act. Actually insisting that you are what you are not is another.

How long before having your chromosomes revamped is available (with a wait of only 15 years) on the NHS?

Nonsense! The wait for chromosome realignment will be 1 day. Hip replacement will be 20 years (book early to avoid disappointment).

Jude English, a Co-Chairman of Green Party Women and a Director of the Green Women’s Declaration…

Trivial, I know, but if Jude English does describe herself as Co-Chairman of anything I applaud her.

Chairman sounds like it might be a sex-specific word but is not. ‘Madam Chairman’ has always been a perfectly polite formal address where appropriate.

A few years ago, in idle conversation with a fellow dog owner/walker I was startled to be told that she had been a ‘manageress’ in some retail company. There’s really no need for the ‘ess’ on most job titles. Unless of course a transsexual actor wishes to protest that actually they’re an actress, for example.

I recall a court case where a GP had to explain his side comment in the medical notes to the judge, I think it was NFP (‘P’ being Portsmouth). Anyway, there is no shock value in the Greens anymore. We expect them to do the most outrageously stupid thing they can, and they seldom disappoint. This case is just beyond parody.

Back in the day, wherever I nursed around the country, there was a “normal for “ abbreviation that would appear in patients’ notes. Of course, this was a long time ago.
