Ministers are facing calls to investigate Muslim gangs in English and Welsh prisons that are forcing white inmates to convert to Islam through coercion and violence. The Telegraph has the story:
Ministry of Justice (MoJ) data show that one in five Muslims in prisons in England and Wales is white, nearly four times the rate of 5.8% in the general population.
The number of Muslim prisoners in jails in England and Wales has also increased and accounts for nearly one in five (18%) of the prison population, despite making up 6.5% of the general population. …
It follows reports by government advisers highlighting concerns that gangs in some jails are ordering prisoners to convert to Islam or face violence. …
Jonathan Hall KC, the Government’s independent reviewer of terrorism legislation, said he found evidence in his report of Islamist terrorists acting as “self-styled emirs” controlling prisoners through “leadership and recruitment”.
This included recruitment of “vulnerable or lonely prisoners, using guidance, sharing of food or material gifts” and “conversion backed by implicit or actual violence”, he said. …
According to the latest MoJ data, there are more Muslim chaplains in prisons in England and Wales than there are Anglican or Church of England chaplains.
The number of Muslim chaplains in prisons is now 140, up from 128 in 2023–24, compared with 87 for the Church of England, down from 97 in 2024–25. There are an additional 94 Catholic chaplains, 64 from free churches and 23 described as “Christian”.
The number of white Muslims in prison has increased from 2,767 in 2022 to 3,218 as of June 30th, 2025, an increase of 16%.
Muslim inmates in England and Wales have risen from 14,037 in 2022 to 16,051 as of June 30th, 2025, an increase of 14%.

Why is it the public sector never has real time monitoring and recording of anything. They only react, if at all, following external information.
The systems they use do not record pertinent events and are unable to produce data.

Interesting how the main methods of conversion used by the religion of peace are threats, coercion, violence and war.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it turned out that people of a certain type of mindset are naturally attracted to Islam.
We all know nothing will be done.
The Aryan Brotherhood in the USA was established initially to allow white prisoners to defend themselves from black gangs. I expect we’ll end up with something similar here, if the state allows it of course. Watch them shut down white gangs but tolerate non whites.
Imagine what would happen if non-Muslim prisoners were trying to force Muslims to stop practicing Islam. They’d be hauled before the governor as fast as they could say “stop wailing five times a day” and spend the next month on a mandatory re-education course to become more culturally sensitive.
Obviously this isn’t the point but how many white prisoners actually convert to Islam rather than just doing what they’re told and going through the motions to avoid being beaten up?
