London Has Been Taken Over by Crazy Greens

Six London councils protesting against the new rules on single-sex spaces show how the city is being taken over by crazy Greens, says Charlotte Gill – and are a foretaste of Burnham's devolution revolution.

This week six London councils united to protest against new rules on single-sex spaces.

These were Lambeth, Waltham Forest, Southwark, Hackney, Haringey and Lewisham, which are apparently “boroughs with some of the highest trans and non-binary communities in the country”.

“Trans men are men, trans women are women”, chant the councillors in a video posted on social media, in which they individually deliver dramatic lines (full script below):

Councillor Paul Perkins, Leader, Waltham Forest Council (Green): “We serve 1.7 million Londoners and pledge to be boroughs of sanctuary for our trans, non-binary and intersex communities.”

Councillor Martin Abrams, Leader of Lambeth Council (Green): “No one in our communities will be excluded from public services because of their identities.”

Councillor Victor Chamberlain, Deputy Leader of the Council and Executive Member for Neighbourhoods, Strategic Planning and Wellbeing, Southwark Council (Liberal Democrats): “Today, potentially harmful new guidance from the Equality and Human Rights Commission comes into force.”

Councillor James McAsh, Leader of Southwark Council (Green): “We believe it fundamentally undermines the hard-fought rights of trans and non-binary people to access services with dignity and respect.”

Councillor Natalie Kane, Deputy Leader of Lambeth Council (Green): “Not only that, it poses a risk for anyone who doesn’t conform to conventional gender norms. We need the Government to do three things urgently to protect our communities.”

Councillor Hau-Yu Tam, Cabinet Member for Communities, Sanctuary and Healing at Lewisham Council (Green): “Number one, confirm the EHRC code cannot be interpreted to exclude trans people from services.”

Councillor Sally Zlotowitz, Cabinet Member for Healthy Communities and Adult Social Care at Hackney Council (Green): “Legislate to secure the rights of trans and non-binary people.”

Councillor Heather Farnworth, Lewisham Council (Green): “Number three, create an equalities framework that safeguards trans people’s right to dignity, equality and humanity.”

Paul Perkins (again): “The Government cannot claim to stand for equality when the rights of trans communities are treated as a life defeat.”

Martin Abrams (again): “We’re doing everything in our power. We now need national Government to do the same.”

In addition to the video, councillors wrote to the Equalities Minister, Bridget Phillipson, to set out several demands. Signatories of their letter included Zoë Garbett, Mayor of Hackney (Green), Cllr Mark Blake, Leader of Haringey Council (Green) and Liam Shrivastava, Mayor of Lewisham (Green), who don’t speak in the video but are very much part of the effort to undermine the Supreme Court.

The common denominator, as you may have spotted, is that most of these councillors are Green. London has been quietly taken over by the Watermelons (Green on the outside, Red on the inside) – as if Sadiq Khan’s Labour wasn’t bad enough. Incidentally, Khan doesn’t seem particularly bothered about the Green takeover, which is interesting in itself.

In a competitive field, Lewisham has to be one of the most woke boroughs to live in. It now has its own “Climate Action Officer” …

…as well as “Cabinet Member for Communities, Sanctuary and Healing”, Hau-Yu Tam.

According to Jewish News, Tam has shared posts on X claiming that “Zionism was undoubtedly and unquestionably the Nazism of our time” and she has “expressed support for lawyers acting on behalf of Hamas in a legal bid to have the group removed from the UK’s list of proscribed terrorist organisations”.

More recently, Tam protested immigration raids in the Borough – leading Lewisham Council to become the first local authority in the UK to refuse to help the Home Office wherever “legally possible”.

Comb through the profiles of any other Green councillors and you’ll find similar examples of far Left ideology. Take Martin Abrams, the Green Party Leader of Lambeth Council, who “won his seat in 2022 as a Labour councillor before being suspended following his support for a Gaza ceasefire motion in January 2024”.

Or James McAsh, another Labour defector (now the Green Leader of Southwark Council), whose priorities include “tackling the climate emergency and resisting immigration raids”.

It’s incredibly easy to work out what these Greens are likely to promote (not dissimilar to the political ideals of Novara Media), such as:

  • Pro Gaza policies (which are, of course, very relevant to Londoners. Not.)
  • Rent controls
  • Open borders and hostility towards immigration control
  • LGBTQA+ madness

Meanwhile, we are getting further and further away from bin collection.

Andy Burnham says further devolution will make Britain better, but London’s Green takeover clearly suggests we are in for very bumpy times ahead.

Just how many chicks with dicks live their fantasy lives in these “boroughs with some of the highest trans and non-binary communities in the country”.. and how many does it take to form one community, never mind multiple communities?

A good friend who travels the world let me know she will never return to London. She had many reasons, lack of safety at the top of her list. Top of my list…..pig sty. You only need to leave the M4 for Heathrow and dear god, you are suddenly in a third world. Despite the debris, you are then required to pay a fee TO DROP A PASSENGER off at the airport. The roadside verges deep in rubbish, a charge to bring a friend to the airport? I guess this is mr khans welcome to London signage. Many overseas friends won’t be back. The one thing the Uk depends desperately for its economy, tourism, is grinding to a halt because of the incompetence of your gov’t, both National and local. Simple fixes, but they cannot even manage to do that.

It’s the same at Manchester airport with ridiculous charges for drop off / pick up.

Governments and their crony organisations exist to constantly rip off and demoralise the public. Shysters!

of course they do, but when you have the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists referring to “sex assigned at birth” when it is a fact that it is determined at conception, it is clear that the lunatics have taken over the Royal Colleges as well as the asylum. The RCOG states that they “recognise maternity and gynaecological services will be accessed by women, gender diverse individuals and people whose gender identity does not align with the sex they were assigned at birth “. Presumably they believe that a man can grow a cervix, uterus and ovaries. I despair.

The single-sex spaces law needs to be enforced, and regular compliance checks. Then if they are not in compliance, fines and maybe prison time. This is the law of the land after all.

I find that flag particularly repugnant. Would the council help me have them removed, do you think.?

Hopefully, should any sort of devolution happen (unlikely imho), the voters will treat the election with a little more respect than the low turnouts which allow these people to be elected?

That’s democracy for you, they voted for them.
So all the migoes will find a welcome home in those boroughs., save Thetford, Bicester etc and give the young illegal invaders to these councils.
Its what the voters want.Police will not have to worry about a local community backlash there.

Councillor Tam has snagged a good gig: “Communities, Sanctuary and Healing”.
Difficult to see how she could obtain bad marks for such a vacuous role.
Could she do anything for my pesky Achilles tendon problem, I wonder?

I’ll see that and raise you a “Green Growth and Climate Project Support Officer” at a local authority near me. If that doesn’t scream ‘Non-Job’ at you I don’t know what does.

Lived in the Borough of Haringey for 25 years, moved to get away from metro liberals, don’t miss it a bit.
