Last November, an invitation-only gathering of politicians, journalists and policy figures assembled at Westminster Central Hall to hear what was billed as an authoritative, expert-led “National Emergency Briefing” on the UK’s climate and energy crisis. The final speaker, awarded the “energy transition” slot, was Tessa Khan – lawyer, campaigner and founder of an NGO called Uplift. Her message was crisp: fossil fuels are the root cause of the UK’s energy price shocks; roughly half of all British recessions since 1970 have been caused by fossil fuel price volatility; and a fully renewable, electrified energy system will deliver lower bills, energy security and a just transition for workers and households alike. The audience, carefully curated, received this vision with the reverence one might accord a scientific briefing. No awkward questions followed about system costs, grid reliability, or the fate of the 100,000-odd workers in the North Sea supply chain. The “emergency” format, it seems, does not lend itself to inconvenient complications.
There is a peculiar growth industry that has flourished in the green movement: the professional climate litigator. Funded by an interlocking web of American and European philanthropic foundations, staffed by lawyers with no grounding in economics, energy engineering, or the lived realities of working people dependent on affordable power, this industry pursues a singular goal – to achieve through the courts what democratic electorates have repeatedly declined to endorse via the ballot box. Nowhere is this enterprise more vividly embodied than in the career of Tessa Khan.

Never forget that the Tories put net zero into law. Without that she would have no grounds to litigate.
According to Wikipedia this woman was born in Australia of Bangladeshi parents. She was involved in human rights in Thailand but learned in 2015 of a court ruling in The Hague ordering the Netherlands to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions. She was so inspired by this she (sadly) moved to London in 2016. She has helped activist groups sue governments in Canada, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan and South Korea. In my opinion she is an international troublemaker who serves no useful purpose but delights in causing trouble for others. If she wants to be a nuisance then she should limit herself to her home country where she could be held accountable. She seems to be another Greta Thunberg but with more brains. I am fed up with people who have no connection with this country coming here and creating mayhem.
Two major problems stand out from this sorry tale:
1) in any sane judicial system these cases would be uncereoniously tossed as being plainly vexatious and ridiculous. There is no “chain of custody” ie any semblance of empirical evidence that her claims have any merit whatever. Therefore the blame doesn’t lie with this lady it lies with who allowed the judicial system to be so clamorously corrupted
2) the link between actions and consequences is completely broken. People in positions of power can enact the most absurd, stupid, damaging decisions in the knowledge that they will suffer no negative consequences at all
How in hell we correct these two fundamental problems I don’t know, but these are the upstream problems leading to this dire situation.
It’s hard to see frankly how we can fix it with out the credible threat of violence.
It is obvious that TPTB are not bothered by voting or by peaceful protest. Ok so we move to phase III.
All net zero roads lead back to the CCP. They fund the economic carnage caused in the West: they reap the vast economic and geo-political rewards.

The Net Zero mob seem to assume that all oil is burnt. They totally ignore all the things that could not be made from any other raw material.
Simple solution make Khan live for one year without any product, service or person which is a product of the fossil fuel industry. That means no Pharmaceuticals, nothing that requires any form of transport using fossil fuels, no food grown using fertiliser, nothing bought from an employee of the fossil food chain, no fossil fuel electricity, gas. Clothing that has been grown or made using fossil fuels.
If she can do that for 1 year and survive without compromise her current living standards then she can prove an exmple to us all. However; if she chooses not to do this, or cannot cope with the year of living like a medieval peasant then she exposes what I suspect she really is, a Grifter like the rest of them in the Climate change bandwaggon.
So Ms Khan are you and your immediate family willing to take up the challenge?
I wonder if she drives a electric car, has a heat pump, solar and batteries? Does she live the life she preaches??
grows her own food, does not use any form of Pharmaceutical except herbs, no food from fertiliser, no clothes utilising the fossil fuel in its production process, no form of fossil fuel transport, in this i include the electric car because the electricity will in part be from traditional fossil fuels, the car itself will be made of components using fossil fuel products, the manufacturing process in factory will have used energy from fossil fuels, and the workers who made the car will be complicit in the continued utilisation of fossil fuels, the cars and its parts will have been transported across the globe using yes you guesed it fossil fuels, likewise if she has one a heat pump, her solar panels. So a grifter, unless she lives the life of a homespun wearing person with sandals or footwear she has made from hemp or products not using fossil fuels in any of its production, and that she lives on vegetables she has grown organically and eats raw.
Unless she does all of this and from the clothes and the hair my guess is she does not, then she is a hypocrite making her living off lies.
Rapid, just, transition. Pick any two or prepare for disappointment. Alternatively put Uplift on the first list of NGOs to be defunded and disregarded.

Why do so many ultra rich people and foundations put so much money into left wing causes like mass immigration, climate scams, “social justice”, “trans rights”. I would love to know. Do ultra rich people really care about any of this stuff or making people’s lives better? I doubt it.

It may not have been Australian taxpayers who provided that kind of life – let’s assume her and her parents were/are smart and hardworking – but the reason the standard of living in Australia is higher and life is better is because of the people that settled in Australia and the culture they brought with them and developed, which has not been the case in Bangladesh. I reckon Bangladesh will never catch Australia up in any measure of material wealth and quality of life, ever, no matter how much money you give Bangladesh. The only way the reverse the fortunes of those two countries would be to swap the populations.
