Former Dutch Health Minister Ernst Kuipers, in his capacity as a member of the World Health Organisation’s Pan-European Commission on Climate and Health, declared last week: “The impact of climate change is enormous… so enormous that there is really no escaping it.” This statement, highlighted in a hard-hitting analysis published on Saturday by Marcel Crok of the Climate Intelligence (CLINTEL) network, perfectly captures the rhetorical strategy now being deployed by the WHO.
The WHO and aligned outlets like the Lancet are once again framing climate change as an “international public health emergency”, complete with dire warnings about heat-related deaths, extreme weather and the spread of infectious diseases. Yet, as Crok meticulously documents, these claims amount to “shameless climate propaganda” that conveniently ignores readily available data showing dramatic declines in weather-related mortality and vastly greater deaths from cold than from heat.
The timing is telling. Even as the IPCC has quietly moved away from its most extreme RCP8.5 scenario in preparations for its Seventh Assessment Report, the health scare machine is being cranked up to full volume.

The BBC (dumped license) make me laugh Hottest May since records began. Records began around 1930. The medieval hot period of 950AD to 1250AD isn’t mentioned. No wonder Fake News BBC is going under.
BBC Pravda TV News was certainly doing its bit last night. My Better told me off for groaning when they proclaimed the current hot spell as a record for Spring temperatures. The records were achieved at Heathrow and Kew Gardens, where London records are always 3 degrees C above the suburb gardens or countryside. Kew is taken next to the huge greenhouse. These records were compared to the RAF Coningsby one taken while jets were on the runway. And of course it may be Spring but mid Summer is close.
Next week 18C and raining. We have had many hot Mays in the past. Maybe your ‘better’ might remember 2 weeks ago – cold and raining. Normal spring season. How to set up a protection racket to get.money and power.
Step 1. Make up a plausible threat to people’s safety. If the threat isn’t convincing enough, instigate it.
Step 2: Tell everyone that only you can deal with the threat.
Step 3: Set up organisation and charge money for dealing with the “threat”.
Step 4: Collude with government so you can use its monopoly of violence to collect.
Step 5: Make sure the “threat” never ever quite disappears.
And step 6: Register it as a charity to save tax!
Yes, and the organisation set up supposedly to deal with the threat is also in charge of assessing the extent of the threat – they are the “experts” to whom the politicians defer (as long as it suits them). See also SAGE.
It’s VERY misleading to characterise WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus as a Doctor. Tedros is NOT a medical doctor, he just has a PhD in a non related area.
Doing so gives him totally undeserved credence.
