Three Ukrainians are in court today charged with an arson attack on Sir Keir Starmer’s home, and the absence of terror charges suggests the attack was of a personal nature. But the media are oddly silent. The Canary has more.
The UK ‘mainstream’ media are stubbornly silent today on the commencement of the trial of three men in court for arson attacks on property belonging to Sir Keir Starmer. The trial of Ukrainians Roman Lavrynovych, 21, and Petro Pochynok, 34, along with Ukrainian-Romanian Stanislav Carpiuc, 26, started at the Central Criminal Court in London. All have pleaded not guilty. The jury was sworn in. Yet it was met by deafening nothingness from the state-corporate press and broadcasters.
The court has not imposed any special reporting restrictions beyond the usual that apply to any criminal case. There is no ‘DSMA‘ (formerly D-notice) Government restriction on reporting that the Canary is aware of. Even if there were, it would not be binding and amounts to no more than a Government request – one that is supposed to be listed on the DSMA website. Yet no ‘MSM’ are touching it, at least yet.
Lavrynovych faces three separate charges of arson with intent to endanger life. Pochynok and Carpiuc face one count each of conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life. All targeted Starmer.
Yet the media have hardly mentioned the case and have asked none of the obvious questions. Why would the three target Starmer? Why are they all Ukrainian? Is there an intelligence connection? Is there a connection to UK involvement in the Ukraine-Russia war? Why are most of the ‘MSM’ refusing to touch the case?
What’s important to note is the context for the case. The CPS has not charged the three under counter-terror laws – therefore, indicating that the alleged crimes were not over Starmer’s politics, or that of the Government, but of a personal nature to the PM or his family.
Overall, objection that the silence is respecting the presumption of innocence or protecting the right to a fair trial falls down in an instant. All that is needed to show that nonsense up is a glance at the headlines regarding trials and the extent of press attendance at the trials to provide hour-by-hour coverage for the curious.

The DT is now (1700) carrying a fairly full account of today’s proceedings (Wednesday 29) .The defendants story is that it was a Russia-directed hit for which they received a small payment. Ukrainians employed by Russians? So far we haven’t established how high up the Moscow food chain this attack was known
I added this comment to the Telegraph letters page, “I understand that the jury has been sworn in for the trial of Roman Lavrynovych, Petro Pochynok and Stanislav Carpiuc on a charge of arson. Maybe it’s a minor case but the victim is apparently the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Sir Keir Starmer. I cannot find a report on the Telegraph web site. Has anyone seen it?” and it was deleted.
I then added this comment, “My innocent query on why no report on the trial of three arsonists has been removed. All I did was to mention their names and the name of their victim. What’s going on?” and it too was immediately deleted.
There is nothing wrong with reporting the existence of such charges, so I can only assume there is some super-injunction in force.
I believe the msm was threatened with imprisonment for reporting on this case. True or false? How do we find out. Why is it only X reporting. Anyone know?
There is no ‘D-Notice’ in force, and we probably wouldn’t know whether or not there is a superinjunction covering it
