A new scientific study says we should worry more about glaciers getting bigger than shrinking! The Mail reports:
While many of the world’s glaciers are in rapid retreat, scientists have been baffled to find 3,100 that are “surging”.
While this might sound like a good thing, the experts warn that it could be even more “troublesome” than glacial retreat.
During a surge, a glacier sends large amounts of ice built up over decades racing downhill, where it rapidly melts in the warm lower-altitude weather.
Scientists aren’t entirely sure what triggers surges, but research suggests they are probably related to conditions in the glacier’s underside, where ice meets the ground.
The problem with this latest silly study is that we have only had the technology to measure remote glaciers in the last few years – things like satellites and GPS. Nobody, least of all these researchers, has the slightest idea whether these or other glaciers have been doing exactly the same thing for decades or even longer. In other words, it is probably just a normal, natural event.
And as they admit, they have not got a clue why the glaciers are getting bigger. That does not stop them, though, from blaming global warming and making the mandatory reference to ‘extreme weather’, which we apparently never had in the past.
Scare stories like these depend on inculcating the myth that glaciers were unchanged for thousands of years until man came along with his SUVs. But as real glaciologists have known

But WAIT———–The science is settled. Everything is to melt and engulf us. —–Except science is NEVER SETTLED. The only thing that is settled is POLITICS and that is what Climate Change is all about. Why are “experts” warning about things they don’t actually understand? And if they don’t really understand, perhaps they shouldn’t be referred to as experts.
So called “experts” warning about things they don’t really understand has caused a lot of mayhem in the past, COVID being a salient case. “Climate change” being another.
It is to laugh – ‘The Scientism’ of this cult.
Warmtarding would mean shrinking and melting. But no, it also means expanding and freezing.
Please send U$1 trillion per year in more funding, whilst we figure this out, concoct fraudulent models and get the word salad chefs organised.
Yes but if they don’t “warn” they will be looking for alternative employment. If you are a scientist these days and you study Puffins or Squirrels then failure to report on how these creatures will be affected by climate change will likely mean you will struggle to pay your mortgage and feed your family. So you make sure you devote enough about climate in your reports just to be safe.
They are dreaming of an imaginary stable planet, in which nothing changes beyond a certain position. There is no such thing.
Or perhaps they are creating alarm in order to secure more research funds.
They’re exploiting our natural fear of the unknown by claiming that whatever changes in whichever way is another step towards unavoidable man-made armageddon unless they get to turn over lifes upside and we pay them lavishly for doing so.
In a nutshell —YES—-The big surprise though is how the vast majority fall for this scam. But then that is the power of propaganda for you.
If you speak to friends and family on the issue of climate change I guarantee you will hear things like “The weather is all messed up”. “When I was young we used to get snow every winter”, “I remember the tar melting on the roads” etc etc etc. ————They have become programmed to think that everything is changing but without realizing that is what the climate has always done. It changes on all time scales from yearly to decades to centuries. What would be unusual and of concern would be if the climate didn’t change. Your friends and family with little exception will be blissfully unaware they are being manipulated for political purposes and if you say to them something like “Polar Bear numbers are going up” I guarantee they will look at you as if you are from Mars.
