A couple of weeks ago on the Daily Sceptic, you may have read my article about the Labour MP Antonia Bance being an unpaid Director of Hope not Hate Ltd.
One of the funders of its charitable wing (Hope not hate Charitable Trust) is the Paul Hamlyn Foundation (PHF), which I wanted to introduce readers to in the course of my columns on taxpayer-funded woke projects ('Woke Waste', as I call my Substack on the theme).
PHF is an example of how charitable foundations add to the problem – sometimes even receiving lots of taxpayer funds too, as you will unfortunately soon see… Trigger warning!
Some may know of PHF’s existence already or know of its namesake. A German Jew who fled in 1933 following the Nazi’s rise to power and moved to the U.K. In 1949, Paul Hamlyn began a book-selling business, which grew and eventually brought him vast wealth. In 1987 he set up the foundation for charitable purposes.
When Hamlyn died in 2001 he left most of his estate to the foundation, which is now one of the U.K.’s most prolific funders. Between April and June this year it awarded 55 grants totalling over £12.22 million. PHF’s website explains that Hamlyn’s “significant and generous bequest allows us to be independent and bold in honouring his beliefs and aims”.
Bold is one word for it – never mind the question of whether his “beliefs and aims” have been honoured. “Paul was guided by

Congratulations to Ms Gill on her efforts to “follow the money” from our pockets to those who would destroy us. I hope that she, and others in the non-MSM and even eventually the MSM itself, can bring the issue to wider prominence.
Question: Should the state give any financial or other support to any organisation other than where that organisation is directly supplying goods or services that its the state’s clear role to procure? If the answer is “sometimes”, who should decide, and how?
The post-/neo-marxist state without a purpose we cannot do away with yet shouldn’t fund anything because it should just go away. In particular, it should fund neither COVID nor climate change nor Pride! nor transgenderism nor new-style feminism as it’s the entity gifted with the reverse Midas touch – whatever it touches invariably turns into shit – due to an inherent inability to understand that black is never white and vice versa because all things and beings aren’t created equal.

This is an obscene waste of taxpayers’ money. These organisations aren’t charities they’re propagandists.
Well it explains where the money for all those professional-looking placards, flags, ( probably the tea towels and masks too, I’m guessing ) tents and whatnot is coming from for the Jew-hating terrorist-supporters and Woketards that regularly pollute our streets with their bile and vitriol, I suppose.
I think it is much worse than a waste of money. It is funding the destruction nof our country. So again I note that after 14 years of Conservative branded government we find out what they have been supporting and it isn’t what we think they should have supported, not any government.
So many charities have been taken over by the anti-western left. Campaigning activities should not be a charitable activity.
