Mark Drakeford Tells the Welsh Hospitality Industry to Prepare for Vaccine Passports

3 min read

Welsh First Minister Mark Drakeford has declared that vaccine passports may be imposed on the hospitality industry, along with the return of work from home mandates, to tackle an increase in the number of Covid hospital admissions. The Welsh Government also wishes to introduce vaccine passports to cinemas, theatres, and concert halls from November 15th. The MailOnline has the story.

Speaking on Sky News, Drakeford said: “We have to make a concerted effort over the next three weeks to bring those numbers down.”

It comes as Wales is set to tighten Covid restrictions to tackle a rising number of hospital admissions, with more than 680 people in Welsh hospitals with Covid on October 27th.

Positive case numbers have also been at their highest recorded total since the pandemic began this month, although numbers have dipped in recent days to fewer than 2,600.

Official data showed England recorded 33,903 new infections, 2,153 cases were confirmed in Scotland, while 2,664 were spotted in Wales and 1,122 in Northern Ireland. Cases appear to be trending downwards in all four nations.

And the number of people going to hospital who were infected with Covid seems to be plateauing. Some 962 sought NHS care on Sunday — the most recent day the data is available for — a rise of 0.3% on the 959 patients admitted last week.

Meanwhile, 165 people died within 28 days of testing positive for the virus, a jump of 43.5% on the 115 deaths recorded on the same day last week.

Despite cases trending downwards and No10’s modellers estimating there will be just 5,000 daily cases over the festive period, the Government’s Chief Scientific Adviser Sir Patrick Vallance said the UK is still in a “very uncertain phase'” of the pandemic and warned ‘Plan B’ should not be taken off the table.

Within Wales, adults who are fully vaccinated, and young people aged five to 17, will be asked to self-isolate until they have received a negative PCR test if someone in their household has symptoms or tests positive for Covid.

People who are not vaccinated will still have to self-isolate for 10 days following contact with someone who has tested positive, including close contacts outside of their household.

Asked what more could be done, Mr Drakeford told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “We can certainly extend the Covid pass into other settings.

“We will be talking to hospitality over the next three weeks to help them to prepare, should that be necessary. We hope it won’t be, of course.

“We will go back to the risk assessments we carry out in the workplace to see whether there is more we can do, more people working from home, back to social distancing in the workplace, looking at the way that schools are organised to try to prevent more young people from contracting the disease.

“The current level of restrictions in Wales are the lowest they have been since coronavirus began. I want it to stay that way, to keep Wales safe, to keep Wales open”.

This nonsensical devolved Parliament was imposed on us by Tony Blair’s, in a totally i undemocratic vote where only 1/3 of the population voted- mainly on Welsh language and parochial basis. Drakeford is a pleasantly incompetent man surrounded by second rate advisors. Those of us who have worked in the Welsh NHS despair as we see our health and economy destroyed by lunacy – but then again at least we do not have Sadiq Khan-

”… to keep Wales open.” And this pl*nker thinks this is the way to do it. So he really IS as stupid as he looks, then.

Surely now the Welsh hospitality will have something to say – or are they all of the same mind as Daffy Duckford?

Welsh Hospitality Industry: “We are being forced by the Welsh administration to demand vaxx passports, you can’t come in without one”.

All the unvaxxed, some 20 percent of tourists proposing to visit Wales: “Cancel my booking and give me a refund. I hope you all go bust. The Lake District looks good this year; so does Cornwall. In fact, anywhere in England, and if we like it enough in England, we won’t be back.”

Get this into your heads; having your own administration is worthless if they are so evil that you don’t have any jobs.

How much is Wales receiving to implement the passport system and from whom?

For a little country on its knees you would have thought they had better things to spend their pennies on, you know things like hip,and knee ops, cataract surgery, hernia repair, getting GPs back into surgeries.

I read the original article in The Mail. Luckily Drakeford has not mentioned pubs and restaurants yet but I’m sure he’s thinking about them. He’s not managed to make me wear a mask yet either – only Tesco round here seem to be bothered so I don’t shop there any more. That decision has cost them several thousand pounds already……

Will the Welsh have to prove they are not rapists to enter cinemas, theatres, and concert halls from November 15th? If so, that’s Drakeford’s rapist son not getting in anywhere.

We’re witnessing a Great Awakening unfold in the citizenry as ignorant government leaders and corrupt politicians continue to implement mandates that threaten jobs, livelihoods, children’s education, and our way of life…

Americans and citizens around the world need to take back their power, stand up, walk out and just say NO. We will unify for freedom and commit acts of peaceful civil disobedience to make our point: no masks, no vaccines, no testing, no green passes. No coercion. No mandates.

Kickoff is November 3rd!

I see the vaccine surveillance report has now been comprehensively “ adjusted” to get rid of easy reference to vaxxed/ unvaxxed incidence. And it contains many caveats that are no more than random thoughts or guesses.

bound to happen, I guess,

Then supermarkets, then your job. Once these are out there then they’ll expand to everyday life. How thick can you be to implement these saying they will reduce cases but in reality cases are rising. So they expand them to more outlets. They don’t fucking work! It’s obviously about control!! We did warn them!

So – you wore the masks, you obeyed the restrictions, you cancelled Christmas and you had the jabs … and still they have not returned your freedoms despite all the promises – in fact you are worse off this year than you were last year without the jabs.

How on earth can this have happened? Didn’t Wales’ mask mandate ‘keep everyone safe’? Don’t the jabs? And clearly there hasn’t been enough vaccine passporting to make them effective.

How anyone believes any of this any more is beyond me.

The slimy little tyrant has been relatively clever here.

He’s waited until case rates peak and just start to drop (peak was Oct 18), introduces new restrictions so in a few weeks time when cases are dropping fast (as every model also predicts) he can claim his restrictions did it.

Very cynical political point scoring going on here.

I’m reliably informed that todays threats are a reaction to an almost universal refusal to take the booster or jab 12 to 17 year olds in Wales

Been told there was an almighty row between Drakeford and the half witted Health Secretary who is refusing to go along with this

It’s not just in Wales that the screw is being tightened.

In this sponsored article in the Daily Mail (and maybe other MSM) the UK Government tries to reintroduce face covering wearing into supermarkets, shops and cinemas by the back door by now specifically characterising them as being ‘crowded places’.

‘Give COVID the cold shoulder this winter: Make sure you’re protecting yourself and those around you’Sponsored by UK Government

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10073041/Give-COVID-cold-shoulder-winter-Make-sure-youre-protecting-you.html

Contains specific advice :

‘But you should also be wearing a face covering when in a crowded indoor space such as a supermarket, shop or cinema.’

So, based on this, one might expect more mask wearing in those places and possible confrontations between maskees and non-maskees.

Sick fucks

cinemas – lol. Death traps. Crowded is not a cinema with aircon for fuck sake.

shops, like all constructed buildings, have to have ventilation in line with Building regulations. So that’s a no too.

why no mention of hospitals when they contribute at least 25% of cases.

sick sick fucks.

Here’s an abridged response from Ken Skates, Labour Member of Senedd.

“Thank you for writing to me about the possible introduction of domestic Covid passes. I understand your concerns about the imposition of a blanket vaccine certification scheme, but I hope my response helps to ease those concerns.

…

The aim of the Covid Pass is not to make it harder for people to access these venues and events but to give people the confidence to attend them, knowing everyone else attending them will either have had a very recent negative test result or has been fully-vaccinated (or both).
Wales is currently at alert level zero – there are fewer restrictions now than at any time during the pandemic. We all want to keep Wales open and to keep Wales safe. The Covid Pass is one of the measures that does just that, alongside the other measures the Welsh Government retained, including the coronavirus risk assessments and all the things we each do (such as washing our hands, vaccination and wearing face coverings) to help to reduce the risk of people catching and spreading coronavirus.
Throughout the pandemic, the Welsh Government has sought to balance people’s freedoms with the… Read more »

Considering that people where attending these venues before the vaccine assport was introduced, the statement about it giving people confidence to attend them is obviously a lie and Ken Skates, Labour Member of Senedd thus knowingly peddling falsehoods.

How long can the pandemic keep growing? It’s been growing for 20 months already.
Perhaps the answer is to shoot anyone who shows up as ‘positive’ – I bet that will get the ‘cases’ down in 5 minutes!!

Ken Skates says you are all very naughty children and must listen to the advice of SAGE, for they are the sage ones. And if you don’t he’s going to “get tough”.

Ken Skates is another one with big gnashers – a cousin of Shergar Ardern? Maybe he will bite you.

Once upon a time the pope was the most powerful man in Christendom, because people did what he said. Now the pope has no power over non Catholics and Atheists, if the pope decreed something, then I as an atheist would just ignore him.

If people just ignored politicians then they have no power. Yes they can try and fine or imprison you but if enough people just ignored them they have no power. Politicians only have power if you obey them .

Ceausescu found to his detriment that once your ignored you fall from grace.

In fairness, an awful lot of people died to knock the Popes off their position of secular power.

You can’t just ignore airport security and waltz through. It’s hard to ignore a restaurant that won’t let you in because you have been ‘fully vaccinated’.

Has anyone here sent an e-mail to Susan Michie yet?

You’re not comparing like with like. Ignoring what politicians say is easier to do than airport security. Politicians only have power because we consent to follow their diktats. Airport security is now part of an airports infrastructure. You can turn your back on a politician but not at passport control.
