Sturgeon Won’t Rule Out Further Lockdowns, as Restrictions Partially Eased in Scotland

2 min read

Restrictions have been partially eased in Scotland today, but it’s not all good news. Scots must continue to wear face masks on public transport and inside public spaces and, more worryingly, Nicola Sturgeon has refused to rule out introducing further lockdowns in the future, saying: “Keeping this virus under control depends on all of us continuing to do all of the sensible things I’ve been talking about.” She told BBC Breakfast (as quoted in the Guardian):

This has been a long, hard year-and-a-half, but we’ve got to continue to exercise care and caution – this virus is unpredictable, and I think it’s true that we underestimate it at our peril. …

Every fibre of my being hopes that the restrictions we are lifting today in Scotland will never, ever have to be imposed, and am I optimistic about that? Yes.

Can I guarantee it? Well, I could tell you that right now for the sake of an easier interview, but it wouldn’t be the right thing to say because keeping this virus under control depends on all of us continuing to do all of the sensible things I’ve been talking about.

We also know that this is a virus that has already mutated, new variants continue to be our biggest threat, so we’ve got to be careful and we’ve got to be realistic.

But I very much hope that all of that, coupled, of course, principally with the power of vaccination, will mean that never again do we have to face lockdowns.

Worth reading in full.

Is the woman trying to go for the Aussie “solution” of “zero covid”? If so, shouldn’t she level with the Scots? If not, shouldn’t all the nation’s leaders level with us and tell us what level of deaths, hospitalisations, infections, damage to9 the economy etc they consider acceptable?

This is what Devomax has led to. Thank you David Cameron. Boris Johnson needs to hold his nerve and keep England out of lockdown. Perhaps in time as our freedoms return, the Scots will realise that they have been duped and vote the SNP out at the next available opportunity.

Refusing to rule out further lockdowns means they are literally planning them. We’ve seen lockdowns DO NOT WORK, the evidence for this is strong, there is no contingency in which locking down can ever help, hence anyone planning them as a “contingency” wants them for their own sake.

I was in Scotland earlier in the year for my “staycation” (god help me). I had a lovely time all in all, but the mad maskers were everywhere. I exempted myself a long time ago and in my city I have never been challenged. Maybe I have been lucky. Visiting Edinburgh castle, I was asked to put a mask on 3 times in about half an hour. I was asked in every hospitality establishment I went to. After saying I was exempt, one girl even said “where’s your lanyard then?”. On one train between Arrochar and Edinburgh, the tanoy announcement said words to the effect of “masks are mandatory blah blah, we are checking the cameras so we have evidence of rule breakers etc”. Sturgeon’s on a mad one.

Did you ask her if she had herpes? And if yes, why doesn’t she have a sign round her neck declaring it?

There were minor scuffles, and no arrests made. It amounted to nothing. Now they’re at Broadcasting House, things are getting heated but they are just about keeping a lid on it, despite the police and usual agitators. Over 5,000 watching currently on Resistance GB, figures the BBC can only dream of these days!

This is a set up, for us to fall for and look stupid. Sadly a lot of people/sceptics already have apparently. The poster has been printed and laminated from French govt publicity document templates available online, with the false date combo etc. Apparently you can tell it’s not the real thing because it doesn’t follow ‘French govt house-style guidelines’ for layout etc.

Amtrup

Reply to  Amtrup

Update/postscript: it may not be deliberate; the errors in date and house style may be innocent publication mistakes/hasty central press office errors, according to French journal “liberation” and they’ve just been leaped on by people who’ve become hypersensitive to any signs of govt manipulation and deception, as yet more proof of that, and with good reason, but perhaps not in this case.

This is the best video you will ever watch about the virus, how it spreads, how the vaccines don’t work and are in fact making matters worse and how governments and politicians are promising the impossible – watch it and share it as much as possible.

This is what we need right now – hero’s standing up and speaking the truth.

Governments have convinced themselves and the public that they can defeat this virus – it will never happen – this is why we are all over the place and implementing measures and restictions that do not work and never will – this is why nothing works – this is why we are still seeing rises is cases – this virus like any other respiratory virus (flu, colds etc) is not going away and never will – in fact those who are being vaccinated right now are wasting there time and deluding themselves into thinking they are safe and immune when in fact they are probably the biggest spreaders of the virus variants.

Fantastic video … a must watch and as I say – please share it.

Report: 14 Israelis have caught COVID-19 despite receiving booster shot
8 August 2021, 5:55 pm

https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/report-14-israelis-have-caught-covid-19-despite-receiving-booster-shot/

Internal Health Ministry data shows that 14 Israelis have been infected with COVID-19 a week after receiving a booster shot, Channel 12 news reports.

The network says 11 of those infected are over the age of 60 — two of whom have now been hospitalized — while the other three got their third dose because they are immunocompromised.

If confirmed in larger samples, the figures could cast doubt on the effectiveness of the booster shot, which Israel has started administering before major health bodies around the world have approved it.

Afternoon, rational extremists.

So, here were are, in Free Caledonia, now at Level -1.

Still muzzled, still begging Queen Nicola for permission to hold events, still being tracked every time we buy a sandwich or a pint.

Masked while sitting at wedding ceremonies but unmasked while sitting at the reception – but God help you if you stand up to make a toast without putting your muzzle back on.

Still utterly unclear on what, if anything, the distinction between a nightclub and a pub is, and whether punters tonight will be standing around quietly, muzzles on, not approaching the bar, and swaying to their imaginations if music remains verboten.

Oor Greet Leader has no intention of giving up power, and has never intended to control “the virus”, only the proles.

Madness isn’t it? I now, (more often since 19/7), see some people with them just over their mouths which is bizarre. I find myself sitting in the cafe watching folk with their little comfort blankets. The ritual of ordering with a mask on, sitting down and taking it off, putting it back on to collect their drinks, taking it off when sitting down again, putting it on to select a paper to read, off again to sit down, then on again for the 4-5 steps to the exit and finally off when outside, (mostly), must surely be behavioural- no sane person could possibly think that this could affect a virus in any way- especially given the variety of masks, the way the things are handled, left on tables, etc. It’s so obviously pointless and yet the majority still do it. On the train station platform, there are messages constantly imploring us to wear masks to consider others, respect others, keep everyone safe, etc. but not one mention of them being effective at stopping the virus. It’s constant propaganda and the message is clear- I don’t care because I don’t wear one. Sorry, but I have to respect myself before I… Read more »

It’s just become a normal behaviour. Remember that until very recently, it was considered perfectly ‘normal’ to sit down at a pub table and take out a roll of paper containing the dried leaves of a plant, set fire to it and inhale the smoke. Nothing rational about it, it was just accepted.
