More evidence has come to light suggesting that Ukraine was behind the Nord Stream sabotage. According to intelligence seen by the Washington Post, the head of Ukraine's armed forces may have been involved.
According to a new report in the Times, German investigators are "unconvinced" that Russia was responsible for the Nord Stream sabotage, and are “exploring fresh leads in a theory implicating Ukraine”.
Yesterday evening, news that “pro-Ukraine saboteurs” may have been responsible for the Nord Stream sabotage was simultaneously reported by at least four Western newspapers. But should we believe it?
In a recent interview, French historian Emmanuel Todd argues that the war in Ukraine is really about Germany. When asked who sabotaged the Nord Stream pipelines, he said, "Of course the Americans."
The Washington Post cites "numerous" officials who say "privately" that Russia may not be responsible for the Nord Stream attack. "Analysts have not heard or read statements from the Russian side taking credit".
According to the New York Times, the U.S. believes Ukraine was responsible for the assassination of Darya Dugina. Was this leak a way for the U.S. to signal to Russia that it wasn't behind the Nord Stream sabotage?
The German magazine Der Spiegel has reported that, earlier this year, the CIA warned Germany about a possible Ukrainian attack on the Nord Stream pipelines. The warning was based on intercepted Russian communications.
