Truckers in Canada have formed what is believed to be the world’s longest truck convoy as they protest against the Government’s vaccine mandate for truckers and other excessive pandemic measures. The Toronto Sun has more.
According to Guinness World Records, the longest truck convoy ever recorded was 7.5 km long, in Egypt in 2020.
The Freedom Convoy heading from British Columbia to Ottawa is said to be considerably longer.
“It’s 70 km long,” said Benjamin Dichter, spokesman for the Freedom Convoy 2022. “I have seen footage from an airplane. It’s impressive.”
By Wednesday, truckers hope to have taken their protest through to Manitoba and will make it to southern Ontario on Friday.
Plans call for the convoy to arrive in Ottawa on Saturday for a protest.
If it gets there on time – and if the convoy holds together as it has in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan – it could be 10 times larger than the world record. …
There are estimates the Canadian convoy could comprise 50,000 trucks from the West, East, and even from the United States. It’s difficult to speculate what will transpire in the days ahead.
It looks like Ottawa could be swamped with long-haul trucks on January 29th. But with winter weather and potential issues, including possible roadblocks or traffic snarls, time will tell.
Whatever happens, it won’t be for lack of support.
Thousands of Canadians have lined the route, cheered from overpasses and offered to feed drivers in their homes and restaurants.
It’s a grassroots demonstration that has become far bigger than anything organisers had envisioned. …
The protest, Dichter said, is about lifting vaccine mandates for truckers at the Canada-U.S. border and other issues relating to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, including forcing drivers to wear masks in trucks.
For the public, the convoy has become a beacon of hope that overreaching COVID-19 lockdowns, restrictions and mandates will soon come to an end.
However, the Liberal government is standing firm.
“The Government of Canada and the Canadian Trucking Alliance both agree that vaccination, used in combination with preventative public health measures, is the most effective tool to reduce the risk of COVID-19 for Canadians, and to protect public health,” said a joint statement from Federal Cabinet Ministers Omar Alghabra, Seamus O’Regan and Carla Qualtrough, and Canadian Trucking Alliance President Stephen Laskowski.

The main point of The Canadian Truckers for freedom is that they should not be subjected to “vaccine mandates.”
So let’s talk a little more about vaccine mandates.
If 12 months ago, vaccine boosters had said, “once we get the vast majority of the world vaccinated we will have …. record numbers of confirmed Covid cases ….,” people would have said, “What the heck?”
If, in Israel, vaccine boosters had said, “Once we get 95 percent of our population fully vaccinated, we will have … record numbers of Israel citizens being treated in ICU’s for COVID,” people would have said, “What the heck?”
If I had said these things in my social media post I would have been attacked as a heretic and a fool and probably banned from ever posting again.
And, yet, this is exactly what has happened. Any person who might have made such bizarre predictions would have been 100-percent accurate and prescient.
Really, all these truckers are trying to say is don’t trust the experts and authorities … And, here’s the kicker, this simple message is (finally) resonating with millions of people.
I hope we can get more updates on this “revolt” – the first major protest in North America. This is more important as it is clear the corporate press is working to suppress or ignore said revolt. For example, the Drudge Report has still yet to run a single story about this event.
Response to Mark and the other upvoters who were curious about the Australian truckies’ convoy.
As I recall it started with a couple of dozen trucks rolling around Sydney’s CBD in July(?). I remember it because there was a clip posted to youtube and my comment got removed two, maybe three times.
Something bigger was attempted at the Queensland/New South Wales border in August, but only two trucks showed up.
A much larger strike organised by the Transport Workers Union in September was supported by 6,000 drivers, but that was focused on pay and conditions. Covid was a secondary issue, if it was an issue at all.
So now there’s word going around that this time, Monday Jan 31, it’s going to happen bigger and better and for real.They’ve even got a Telegram group – well, yee haa. Sounds good, but after the border debacle I’ll be waiting to see what they’ve got to back up the words.
No swear words, threats of murder or displays of rudeness were used in the making of this post.

The word “nigger” isn’t absolutely taboo, under inclusive equality rules people of particular ethnic origins are allowed to repetitively call others niggers of the same ethnicity, in the name of diversity it’s only banned for people of lighter pigmentation. It’s a complex rule, but I think that’s about right, if that helps.

Thanks for covering this! I was out this morning on an overpass in freezing weather to cheer on the southern contingent. We were getting a LOT of honking and waves from passing vehicles even before the convoy showed up, Canadians are sick and tired of Dictator Trudeau.
