The Government is set to introduce a mandatory vaccination requirement for all care home staff this Thursday, with one in 10 employees facing the sack because they haven’t received both doses of a Covid vaccine. In addition, the General Secretary of Unison, a trade union which represents public sector workers, has called on the Government to scrap the vaccine mandate as it will “cause more harm than good”. The Times has the story.
The Government’s policy requiring all care home staff to have had two doses of the vaccine comes into force on Thursday, and the Care Quality Commission said it would take action if necessary to ensure people’s safety.
Social care experts warned that the measure was likely to exacerbate existing staff shortages, leaving people without the care they needed, and one of the biggest trade unions urged the Government to reconsider its position.
In 76 out of 151 upper-tier local authorities in England, more than 10% of staff in care homes for older adults were not fully vaccinated, according to NHS England statistics up to the end of last month.
Nationally, 89.4% of the almost 462,000 staff working in older adult care homes were double-jabbed.
The lowest rates were in Thurrock, Essex, and Manchester, where only 79.1% and 79.4% of staff were double-jabbed. The highest rates were in York, where 94.8% of staff were double-vaccinated, and Rutland, where the figure was 95.6%.
Some of those who are unvaccinated will have medical exemptions, whereas others may not have recorded their vaccination properly.
Simon Bottery, the Senior Fellow in Social Care at the King’s Fund think tank, said the sector would lose workers, with the only question being how many. The Government’s own estimate is that about 40,000 staff could leave as a result of the policy.
Bottery said: “In the last full year for which we’ve got statistics, there were over 100,000 vacancies at any one time. We also know that although the vacancies fell in the initial stages of the pandemic, they’ve since been increasing, and they’re now almost certainly higher than they were before the pandemic started.
“There’s a chronic problem with recruiting into adult social care, and that problem is becoming really acute. And the moment the sector loses a significant number of staff on top of the existing problem, then it creates really significant serious problems for the providers but also crucially for people who rely on adult social care services.”
Mike Padgham, Chairman of the Independent Care Group, who has worked in the sector for 30 years, said at the weekend that the deadline could mean up to 500 homes across England having to close their doors.

One only hopes that the measure of unvaccinated care home staff has been compiled anonymously, as everyone’s decision to be vaccinated or not *must* be a private decision between themselves and their GP. I fear it was not. You wonder whatever happened to the Data Protection Act in these circumstances. I for one, would never give my GP or a clinician permission to share my medical history, unless another clinical professional requested an aspect of that and I gave permission.

Time to return to caring for our elderly at home? And to allow them to die when it’s their time, rather than pumping them full of drugs to keep them alive with very little quality of life?
These shoddy gene therapy injections were designed to deal with the original Wuhan variant, now they tell us that all there is in circulation is the Delta variant and the data I have seen from Israel, the UK and the other major vaccine junkie nations indicates that the original jabs do nothing to impede delta.
So even according to their own narrative they are trying to force people to get jabs for a variant that doesn’t even exist any more.
This is just stupid. If we assess the situation as it is now this is what it looks like…
If 90% of staff are already vaccinated and you believe the vaccines reduce the risks of catching & passing on the virus dramatically, then you’ve already reduced the risk to nearly the max already. That extra 10% is not going to make a huge difference.
So the judgement call now is to force the 10% to get vaccinated for a marginal gain or lose a large proportion of them resulting in far greater damage than the gain you were hoping for.
You can reduce the risk further by having unvaccinated staff work in areas away form vulnerable people, but really if we factor in natural immunity there’s a good chance it wouldn’t make much more difference if none of the 10% ever got vaccinated.
Then there is the alternative viewpoint that the vaccines do very little to reduce the spread of the virus which also means it’s pointless forcing the remaining 10% to get vaccinated.
Thanks for working for a minimum wage, potentially risking catching “covid” – especially when to “protect the NHS” the bastards in charge sent the sick wrinklies back to their care homes to die ALONE.

a broader point. Any government who explored using the Mental Health act to force vaccination on people will not think twice about forcing you into a position of jab or Job. There is political capital in keeping on with the vaccines (which are not vaccines)
I would have a degree of confidence that this “mandate” never actually happens because the timing of the measure is telling. The Government want to get through winter and then will be desperate to pretend Covid is no longer a thing, around 4-6 weeks before this mandate is expected. Like snow in the rain. Many experienced care workers are gone already. My sister in law, a qualified nurse and an assistant manager in a care home left her job in June, as she knew which way the “vaccine” wind was blowing. Three other staff resigned at the same time and for the same reason.
My wife has also left. She’s been a carer for 19 years. Working for the same supermarket as me now.

In the States the Unions have been taking the Government and employers to court, they have staged protests, sick days. What have the unions been doing over here? I thought the Unions in the 70’s had become out of control but it seems the pendulum has swung in the other direction completely. We all need to support these care workers in any way we can. For those who are able to attend, ‘Save Our Rights’ in association with #UniteForFreedom are organising a stand in solidarity with the health care workers in Parliament Square this Thursday 11th at 3.00pm.
When all are jabbed there are no excuses when it makes no difference whatsoever. But they’ll just move on to ‘compulsory’ for the next sector. Heads we lose, tails they win!

1) After making a “terrible mistake” in 2020 that killed off many residents of care homes, the government is now making another “terrible mistake” in 2021 that looks as though it will have the same result.
2) The government delays sacking NHS staff from hospitals who aren’t spike protein catalyst-injected, ostensibly because it will need their labour over the winter, but it steams right ahead and sacks care home staff who are similarly uninjected, despite their being employed to look after patients who are mostly over 80, many of whom suffer from chronic illnesses, and who are most at risk from the type of pneumonia called “Covid”.
3) Anybody remember Professor June Andrews, the senior nursing “expert” who told a Scottish parliamentary committee that a killer pandemic could be “quite useful” in ridding the earth of bed blockers? (And guess what – she then whinged that she’d been targeted online. How dare members of the population call out their betters for advocating mass murder!)

Sometimes I believe that scientists like him are genuine and honest: when they get shafted by the pharma/government complex, they get angry as their trust has been betrayed.
In November 2019 the WHO held an international conference to discuss the increasing problem of ‘vaccine hesitancy’ amongst the public and Doctors.
Incredibly this meeting was recorded and the footage released, the WHO essentially admitted that most of the criticisms of vaccines made by the anti-vxxers are valid.

Had to watch a relative recently make a massive fuss to ensure her son wouldn’t catch chicken pox when he was at extremely low risk of doing so, but in a matter of days she plans to take him to the jabbing centre for his first jab. Said relative is always lecturing other family members on all matters health related and eats organic etc etc (all of which I approve) but the disconnect between that and passively surrendering to the jabs is very hard to fathom. Unless, of course, she has been given some kind of wink that what her family is getting is only saline.

I have been wondering about this magic pill. Is it being slipped out because so much info is now coming out about the vaccines (so a get out of jail card)- namely they are neither safe nor effective. On the other hand I feel whatever is in the jabs is crucial to the global agenda. I saw an insert label for these new pills and the list of possible side effects is pretty shocking. On the other hand a pill is less damaging than an injection as pills only last for so long in the body and have to by pass the digestive system.

I just had the misfortune to hear part of the Jeremy Vine show on Radio 2. Once again, there is an assumption that anyone who doesn’t want the vaccine is influenced by online conspiracy theorists and an ‘educational’ conversation with a health professional (?) would get them to change their minds and steer them onto the path of righteousness. Sheesh!

All I needed to know was that this was a ‘warp speed’ medical product and that was enough for me to decide not to have it.
The horrendously high number of deaths and injuries reported on the yellow card system and VAERS only confirms my decision was correct.

I am fairly certain that if I was to try to have an “educational” conversation with one of the few health professionals I have access to, their knowledge about the content and effects of the injections they would be trying to persuade me to have would not go very far beyond the fact that they get £12.50 per arm they stick the needle into.
