A Christian man who sued the Government after saying he has a phobia of Pride flags has lost his religious discrimination case. The Mail has the story:
Mark Jennings was told he could not work from home during Pride Month – despite his belief that gender ideology is “the work of the devil”.
He had accepted a job with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in June 2024 after applying for a work coach position at a Job Centre in November 2023.
However, while receiving his job offer on a phone call he began making “unreasonable demands”.
The DWP insisted it could not accommodate Mr Jennings’ requests – such as not being subjected to Pride imagery or hearing people “using different pronouns” at work.
Therefore Mr Jennings turned the job down – but then tried to sue for discrimination.
His claims have now been dismissed at an Employment Tribunal in Ashford. …
Mr Jennings explained over the following days that as a Roman Catholic and evangelical Christian, “his faith dictated that gender ideology and the promotion of ‘trans ideology’ caused him great anxiety”.
The tribunal heard: “It is his view, in line with many others within the faith, that homosexuality and transgenderism is a sin contrary to the laws of God, and that a Christian should not promote LGBTQ+ activities.
“He also sees the use of the rainbow by the LGBTQ+ community as co–opting, a symbol of God and Christianity (referencing the promise made to Noah after the flood), which is offensive to him.” …
The DWP said they could not guarantee any policy change as because of their diversity schemes there may be information about Pride on the office notice boards, as there would be for Black History Month.
Mr Jennings therefore suggested the office could be divided into “zones” to keep him protected from the “iconography” – or that he could work from home, even if just during Pride Month.
He also suggested colleagues could be gently asked to remove Pride symbols but this was found to be “naive” on his part.
The DWP had told him they could not accommodate his demands because they had requirements to allow people to express their support for Pride, but they left the job offer open in case Mr Jennings changed his mind.
He did not – and took the organisation to an employment tribunal alleging indirect religious belief discrimination and a failure to make reasonable adjustments, a form of disability discrimination.

The only way we will learn to live together reasonably harmoniously is if all the social engineering projects which have been launched in the past few decades (Pride Month, Black History Month etc) are banned in the workplace and schools.
Ain’t gonna happen so you just have to do your best to ignore them and not participate.
TBH, this chap wouldn’t have lasted 3 months in the Civil Service. It would have driven him completely mad so for him personally, it’s probably for the best that he didn’t take the job.
They will be banned under a RESTORE BRITAIN government.
Imagine if a Muslim had made these ‘requests’. The result would likely as not have been the same.
Mr Jennings was being entirely unreasonable in making these requests. In doing so he is likely to bring Christianity into disrepute’. He could pay more attention to the scripture he believes in.
He is being unreasonable and just Taking the Michael, but he is NOT “bringing Christianity into disrepute”, because the Bible is very clear about Sodomy.

It seems to me that Mr. Jennings, who claims to be both Roman Catholic and Evangelical Christian, which means he is NEITHER, has hit upon this elaborate ruse in order to AVOID WORKING FOR A LIVING, and stay on welfare benefits for the rest of his life.
Or perhaps he’s a man of principle. They don’t come cheap.
I doubt it. Best find out if he has ever actually worked a day in his life. I detest the way God’s own beautiful creations like the rainbow and the butterfly have been seized by sodomites and paedophiles, respectively, to represent their perversions. But I think this man’s only real problem is an “Extreme Aversion to Work”.
Maybe, but I wrote to several commercial companies during Pride month to object to being subjected to their displays of Pride or any other flags – just so they know.

Simple. Get rid of Pride Month and just have Pride Day. Do the same for Black History Month and all the other tedious Months. A day is good enough for Armistice Day.
Private organisations can have a Pride Year as far as I’m concerned, but the DWP or any other public sector body should not be sanctioning any political or social campaigning activities whatsoever.
Absolutely! A body representing all the public has no business endorsing any cause – no matter how worthy. All propaganda is intrinsically controversial and forcing everyone to agree is coercion.

How strange that the huge Communist country supposedly founded upon the rights of the “WORKERS”, as depicted in their statues and such, only chooses to honour White Collar Workers, devoting only one day to the Working Class Labourers: “Builders Day”.
The trouble is, there’s always going to be some group that claims they’ve been excluded. Just ditch the whole lot, and retain only those “days” that mark historical events of national significance.
How about a day to remember the day that the law banning slavery received royal assent and remembering all the members of the West Africa Squadron who lost their lives trying to stamp it out.
And how much money it cost the British Taxpayers forced to pay off the Slave Owner Compensation Loan for abolishing slavery, up until 2015:

In an ideal world, totally. But back in the real world, if the rest of us have to suffer this woke ideology gender garbage then I don’t see why anyone should play the religious card to get out of it and expect society ( or a would-be employer ) to bend over backwards and accommodate their individual sensibilities. Get real. It was extreme enough to turn down the job, in my opinion ( he knew Pride month existed, surely? ), but to then go ahead and sue just shows what an unreasonable and entitled crackpot they guy is. No sympathy from this quarter because I’ve zero tolerance for snowflakes and I don’t believe in religious exemptions, full stop. Hopefully somebody who appreciated the role got the job instead. The guy needs therapy.
I suspect it’s intentional lawfare rather than actual offense. I read it as someone sick of this shit, trying to crack it open to criticism.
Unfortunately, he chose the wrong religion. If he said he was a Muslim, he’d be quids in now.
I’m in full agreement. Anyone electing to work for a government organisation under the current regime would be very naïve if they thought they could get away with not being exposed to all forms of state-sanctioned wokery, from Earth Hour to Black History Month. It’s like a vegan applying for a job at Burger King and demanding protection from the sight of meat products.
