UK Govt Spends £30 Million on Woke Research Including Gay Porn After Second World War and Syrian Harvesting Songs

by Richard Eldred
15 June 2025 5:00 PM

Nearly £30 million of UK taxpayer cash has been blown on bizarre, woke academic projects. The Mail has more.

UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) has been given the staggering amount of funding for a number of overseas projects, which appear to have no clear benefit to British taxpayers.

The funding includes £850,000 for Birmingham City University to delve into the circulation of gay male porn and porn magazines at the end of the Second World War, a Telegraph investigation revealed.

The University of Oxford received more than £350,000 in a bid to preserve the threatened language of Enggano, spoken by just 1,500 people on Enggano Island, in Sumatra, Indonesia.

Meanwhile, £784,000 was given to the University of Exeter to build a historical account of the development of child soldiering in Africa.

It also received £307,000 of funding to revive ancestral territories, including the language and cultures of the K’omox, Pentlatch, and E’iksan in Vancouver Island, Canada, and the Maori of New Zealand.

Edinburgh University were given £123,000 to record “harvesting songs of displaced Syrian refugees living in Middle Eastern countries”, while the University of Warwick received almost £800,000 to study “invisible women in Italian cinema”. …

Another project includes a joint study between the University of Roehampton and Stellenbosch University in South Africa, which was given £2.8 million in funding to research how music could help the mental health of expectant mothers in Africa. …

Roehampton University also received £805,000 to recreate a performance of the 16th-century play Galatea by John Lyly centred around “female, trans, queer, disabled and migrants”.

While, the University of London received £323,000 to make a film-making union to assist the Mursi agro-pastoralists of the Lower Omo Valley of Ethiopia.

Other projects that were given funding included a look into housing rights for marginalised citizens of Lagos and São Paulo. University of Manchester received nearly £250,000 for the study.

Around £300,000 was given to Birmingham University to “promote reproductive justice” for the Pankararu and Xukuru communities in north-east Brazil.

“invisible women in Italian cinema”

My wife was very taken with this, and we’re now going to be conducting “research” of our own by watching Italian films to see if we can identify the invisible women. Is it possible that they leave a kind of shadow? Or do they move things around in the background? But why do Italian directors bother putting them into their films since no one can see them? And do the invisible women get paid? In any case, where do these invisible women live in Italy? I’ve never seen them … And do the invisible women also work in radio? With non-speaking roles, perhaps.

Clown-world is a very odd place.

All I can bring to mind at the moment are highly visible women in Italian cinema. Anna Magnani, Claudia Cardinale, Anita Ekberg, Ingrid Bergman, Monica Bellucci…

I suggest looking for scenes where male characters seem to be embracing and kissing something which isn’t there and I’m very much looking forward to findings being published!

Summarised very politely. My first thought was simply…

Basically, I feel the same, but sometimes literalism is a good way of highlighting the sheer weirdness of the madleft ideologues, and their increasing habit of disappearing up their own backsides.

Only when the well runs dry will this rubbish stop.

As far as I am concerned, the well ran dry some years ago.
Seeing as the “well” is our taxes.

To be fair there are some interesting anthropological studies here such as trying to preserve a soon to be lost language .

But the overall impression is one of pissing tax payers’ money up the wall because there is no concept of accountability.

It is nonsense the Brits don’t spend a penny without their being an ulterior motive. Do you really think that the demons in charge give a toss about these groups. That is a crazy idea. Gey porn was used to good effect about eight years ago in a demoralisation bombardment campaign. At that time Facebook was stil popular and they saturated it. If you see an image of two men together you think that it doesn’t affect you at all but it does and a few of those images in rapid succession and you’re a changed man.

The efforts taken to provide some select educational establishment “researchers” with foreign holidays is truly staggering.

Indeed. Like all organizations, the state seeks to perpetuate itself. As there is not much of value for the state to do (apart from apparently hard stuff like mending potholes and protecting our borders) it creates “work” so that more people depend on it. The losers involved in most of this research would be extremely unlikely to vote for a non-Uniparty party because they know that would be the end of their gravy train.

We like to think of ourselves as the awake ones as opposed to the sheep like how we resisted taking the vaccination. But this is a very inadequate model. The point is that just by being alive these days every day even the most astute person is programmed by the system. It is by eighty percent rather than a hundred percent. The spirit of the times affects everything in these times every moment will have a different flavour. Just bear in mind that no matter how clever you are that you are being brainwashed everyday. It is the movement of the disruptive spirit in the world and few transcend it. Even with your enlightened consciousness everything that you are thinking is covered in a deep layer of effluent. You should never feel conceit because you are a bit brighter than your neighbour. The first step to understanding is acknowledging that there is a fog that surrounds us all and we haven’t managed to deal with it or understand it yet.

Charlotte Gill deserves some credit for her research on this stuff, a lot of which has been cribbed by the MSM.

Charlotte Gill has led the way in exposing this. I’d recommend everyone to browse the UKRI website – it is a gold-standard example in organised waste.
