Thirteen members on the Scottish Green Party have been expelled for daring to declare that “sex is a biological reality”. The Sunday Post has the story.
A former Scottish Greens co-convener is calling on members to oust the current leadership after a group of rebels was expelled for declaring “sex is a biological reality”.
Robin Harper, who was leader between 2004 and 2008 before tearing up his membership last year, revealed he has been approached by several individuals to see if he would be interested in forming a breakaway party.
It comes after 13 people – including office bearers and some who have campaigned for the Greens for more than 40 years – were accused of making the party less safe for trans and non-binary members.
The group signed a declaration stating women have a right to maintain the sex-based protections enshrined in the Equality Act.
It added that “women and girls have the right to discuss policies which affect them without being abused, harassed or intimidated”.
Complainants said the signatories broke rules prohibiting the undermining of party policy and behaviours that constitute prejudice and are a threat to others.
The party has had a rule since 2018 that states “trans-exclusionary individuals of any kind are not welcome as members”.
Harper told the Sunday Post the claim that the group had been expelled to keep trans members safe is “utterly laughable”.
He said: “We went through that letter sentence by sentence to see if there was anything in it that could be represented as being aggressive or critical to trans people. It’s just not there.
“Really what needs to be done now is the party needs to get together and lodge a vote of no confidence in the current leadership and take it from there.” …
He believes the Greens have been infiltrated by a group with political views that have little to do with the original aims of the party and hopes members will be able wrestle back control to return the focus to environmental issues.

The Scottish Greens believe in rewilding Scotland and restoring nature however gender reassignment and the pharma support are contrary to what nature has provisioned (is it even “net zero”?). Nature knows best, except when politicians know better.

I read a book once, sadly I cannot recall what it was, and it studied the fall of civilisations. THe conclusion was that in all fallen civilisations throughout history there was a common trait: the leaders made insane decisions that even they did not understand.

As to trans and gender et al, there are two sexes. The rest is simply bilogical traits and psychological. I’m not saying people are mentally ill, their mind and biology just works the way it does. One of my sons is happily married and gay, he is just who he is just like anyone else. Only the dysfunctional feel the need to make a fuss.
Objecting to the statement that sex would be a biological reality implies denying that humans are animals capable of sexual reproduction because if human sex doesn’t exist, then, begetting new humans by fertizling eggs with sperms cannot happen. So, what does contemporary Green theology say about the origin of all these humans everywhere around and about chemical contraception? When human sex doesn’t exist, preventing pregnancy cannot be necessary, either.
Considering that the Greens reject reality for political reasons, of which quality must the climate change they claim is happening necessarily be? Or anything else the Greens are very fond of, say, structural racism. Can’t we just put these madmen and -women into mental asylums and exclude them from the political process until they demonstrate at least a marginal understanding for the world in front of their eyes they refuse to take note of?
We wouldn’t let someone who denies that pedestrians exist drive a car.
Any Asylum would be used on the “Far Right”.
Bad approach. The battle to be fought isn’t whether one is critical of transpeople or not. The battle is whether one has the right to be critical of transpeople.
Why shouldn’t one be able to be critical of trans people. Everything should be open to question and criticism. Free speech and all that.

I wish I could be like a shrill woke person and aggressively demand that all these things to be eliminated because they trigger me and make me feel very unsafe.

People who are having serious problems with their ‘feelings’ need to see a shrink instead of trying to make everyone dance to the tune of their mental issues.

Unfortunately, there’s no driving license for politics. Every crackpot can try to become a politician and if he manages to convince enough other crackpots to vote for him, he’s perfectly to decree that humans are supernatural beings¹ with some set of properties he dreamed up and force everyone else to act as if this was true.
¹ The Greens probably prefer subnatural, ie, worth less than anything else on this planet.
