BBC Journalists ‘Like’ Videos Celebrating Hamas Terror Attacks

by Richard Eldred
17 March 2024 1:05 PM

Journalists from the BBC, responsible for a scathing report accusing Israeli soldiers’ of abusing medics at a Gaza hospital, have been found to have ‘liked’ videos applauding Hamas terror attacks and anti-Israel content on social media. The Mail on Sunday has more.

The story last week led to worldwide condemnation of Israel, and was called “very disturbing” by Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron who called for “answers”.

Now the Mail on Sunday can reveal concerns about the views of two BBC Arabic reporters, Soha Ibrahim and Marie-Jose Al Azzi, who were credited with working on the story.

Earlier this month, Ms. Ibrahim liked a video on X of Palestine Action activists slashing an oil painting of former British Prime Minister Arthur Balfour, who helped pave the way for the creation of Israel. On the day of the Hamas attacks on October 7th, she liked videos of people in Lebanon and Tunisia chanting, dancing and waving Palestinian flags in the street in apparent celebration.

London-based Ms. Ibrahim, who has worked for the BBC for 12 years, also liked another post on X on October 7th which celebrated “the first of the martyrs of the operation”. The tweet featured a picture of an Egyptian man who was killed after shooting dead three Israeli soldiers last June.

Ms. Ibrahim also liked a video of Egyptian football fans chanting “we sacrifice our souls, our blood for Palestine” following the attacks.

Meanwhile Ms. Al Azzi, who has worked at the BBC since 2019 and is based in Lebanon, described Israel as a “terrorist apartheid state” in a post from 2018 that has since been deleted, according to antisemitism researchers. …

Jewish Tory MP Andrew Percy called the BBC “institutionally Israel-phobic”, saying: “The fact they are using reporters who appear to be openly hostile to Israel and potentially openly hostile to Jews, again demonstrates the issues the BBC has here on reporting this conflict fairly.”

Worth reading in full.

Stop Press: The Mail reports that during a recent Whitehall training session, Foreign Office staff were told there was “no future without Hamas”, instructed not to refer to Hamas as terrorists and Israel was portrayed as a “white, settler colonialist nation”.

The BBC is a socialist propaganda machine staffed by evil, leftist scum. BBC output, and the behaviour of its staff, will reflect this. The license fee should have been abolished long ago and the BBC made accountable to its consumers via a subscription funding model. Anyone paying the license fee is colluding with evil.

Indeed

I fear the most likely outcome is some feeble reprimand for those in question and privately they be told to be more subtle next time

Actually, investigative journalist, David Collier, did a thread on this very topic. Here’s his expose;

”I want to tell you a story.
Last week the BBC Verify team posted a demonising report that accused Israel of abusing Palestinian medics.
The BBC Verify story relied on six separate sources. I think you should meet the people @bbcnews
rely on:

The first is Soha Ibrahim. Her social media accounts are full of anti-Israel venom. On X she even liked posts that celebrated Oct 7 and support Hamas.
This woman is not a random bystander. She WORKS for the BBC.

The second was Marie-Jose Al Azzi – another BBC employee.
Here she is openly calling on Shakira to boycott Israel.
The third was a Palestinian, Muath Al Khatib. His timeline is also no different from an anti-Israel activist – and in 2016 he even got triggered by the number of Jewish people he saw in Thailand.

Those are the Arabic speaking journalists that the BBC Verify team TRUSTED and RELIED ON. But then the BBC also rely on three Gazan eye witnesses. – it is important you meet them as well.

One was Dr Atef Hout – here he is celebrating a rocket strike on Israeli civilians.
Another was Abu Sabha. Here he is publicly glorifying and celebrating the terrorist Uday Al Tamimi.
The last was Hatem Raba. He was clever enough to create a new social media profile in December so people would think he was a doctor rather than a professional political activist for the PLO.
He is a Fatah activist and another one who glorifies terrorism.

That is it. Three Arabic journalists who support terrorism / hate Jews and three Gazans who support terrorists / hate Jews.
These are the people the BBC rely on to create the BBC Verify reports.
This is how the lies go mainstream and antisemitism spreads.
We fund this!!

BBC Verify are amateur anti-Israel hacks who couldn’t verify a tomato.
A bunch of supremacist naive fools with greatly exaggerated opinions of their own ability and intelligence.
It is time the BBC STOPPED with its toxic anti-Israel agenda and accepted it has a problem.”

Nice try to deflect from the fact that Israeli soldiers abused medics.

Did they though?

Genuinely just asking.

Knowing it wasn’t a pandemic is one thing. One very easy thing to know.

But establishing anything during the fog of war?

Video evidence, testimony from medics and the general manager of the hospital, the International Red Cross, the World Health Organisation and people with compassion believe it to be true.
Zionists, the Israeli government, Islamophobes and racists are denying it.

“believe it to be true”??? ——–People believe all sorts of stuff. I had a good friend who believed UFO’s were flying over his house. Believing stuff can get you into a whole lot of bother. ——-Best to either know something or don’t know it…..But don’t believe stuff. That is called religion.

Hamas and Islamists are all sweetness and light then are they? Or do you also condemn what they do?

The creation of Hamas was a natural reaction to 75 years of Israeli brutality.
Netanyahu is at fault for the rise of Hamas. He told his Likud Party’s Knesset members in March 2019,
“anyone who wants to thwart the establishment of a Palestinian state has to support bolstering Hamas and transferring money to Hamas. This is part of our strategy- to isolate the Palestinians in Gaza from the Palestinians in the West Bank.”

Islamic terrorism is blowback for US and their vassals wars and interventions in the Middle East which have killed 4 million Muslims since 1990.

Perhaps I’m a pedant but I despise the continued lazy application of the “-phobic” suffix. It’s supposed to mean ‘fear’ but it’s used to mean ‘hate’. It’s so hideously overused. I’d far prefer the article to say these idiots ‘hate Israel’ or ‘deny that Israel has a right to exist’

In a similar way it irritates me that every scandal is ‘-gate’, making the original Richard Nixon scandal something to do with water.

End of rant.

There are a great deal of “phobias” in the Liberal Progressive toolbox. Somehow if you disagree with them you must be suffering from some malady or other and you require treatment (brainwashing)

The truth is there is no longer truth, only propaganda remains. What I do know with certainty is civilians are being killed in numbers that no morally intact nation would accept. I also know with certainty that hundreds of thousands of Muslims protesting on our streets is a visual indicator of a ticking time bomb – a small window into the belly of a Trojan horse. The uncritical support of Palestine is an act of self harm so incredibly myopic it’s difficult for me to understand. Although I also cannot comprehend the uncritical support of the death and destruction of large swathes of Gaza. Choose your propaganda carefully, and always check which direction your propaganda-fueled moral compass is pointing to.

I recommend “BBC, Brainwashing Britain” by David Sedgewick”. ——-Ok so people may be left wing in their views and others may be right wing. Both are legitimate world views. What is not legitimate is bias by a state broadcaster funded by us all. Yet that is what we are getting.

Remember when you put your red thumbs down that this article is about the BBC which is supposed to be impartial showing bias by “liking” videos that celebrate terrorist attacks. It is not about your opinion or mine.

I have suspended my monthly payments to the Daily Sceptic About What Exactly, so this may be my last comment.

The story is certainly worth reading, in the right order, fact first and comment later. There is one definite factual claim. Who made it? The Mail quotes the Beeb.

three Palestinian doctors who said they were beaten, doused with cold water and made to kneel for hours by Israeli troops following a military raid on the Nasser hospital last month.

Who quoted them?

two BBC Arabic reporters, Soha Ibrahim and Marie-Jose Al Azzi, who were credited with working on the story.

and also

a freelance photo journalist Muath Al Khatib, based in Jerusalem, who works part-time for WAFA, the Palestinian state news agency.

but

The IDF denied the claims.

Has the story been investigated? Why yes.

anti-Semitism researcher David Collier

Has investigated not the three doctors but the three reporters and their social media accounts. His discoveries have been publicised by CAMERA, the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis.

Mr Collier said: ‘It’s quite scary really, considering how much influence they have.’

Truer words were never spoken.
