Criticising BLM Ideology is a Protected Belief, Court Rules

by Will Jones
4 October 2023 1:00 PM

You probably haven’t heard of Sean Corby, but he has just won a huge victory for free speech, writes Alka Sehgal Cuthbert in Spiked. Thanks to him, opposition to Critical Race Theory has been recognised by a U.K. court as a ‘protected belief’ under the Equality Act for the first time. Here’s an excerpt.

Earlier this year, Corby took his employer, workplace-conciliation service Acas, to an employment tribunal after bosses ordered him to remove his social-media posts criticising Black Lives Matter (BLM). Last week, the tribunal ruled in his favour, confirming that holding a view that opposes critical race theory (CRT) is a protected ‘philosophical belief’ under the Equality Act.

The verdict is undoubtedly good news. But the events that led to Corby having to defend his freedom of speech are still troubling.

His problems started in August 2021. He posted comments opposing the divisive ideology of BLM and CRT on Yammar, an internal workplace-communications platform. In particular, he argued that a better way to address racial problems was articulated by the late Martin Luther King, who famously called on us to judge people according to the content of their character rather than the colour of their skin.

Some of Corby’s colleagues took issue with his advocacy of a universalist, colourblind approach to race. Of course, people don’t have to agree with the views of those they work with. We can disagree with others while accepting their right to hold and express those views. But it seems Corby’s colleagues were incapable of such tolerance. They complained that his comments demonstrated “a deep-rooted hatred towards black and minority-ethnic people who challenge racism”. As a result, they said, they would not feel “safe” when having any personal contact with him.

At this point, you would have hoped that Acas would have told these people, politely, that what they were saying was ridiculous – that Corby’s criticisms of BLM constituted neither personal hatred nor a threat to their safety. But that’s not what the bosses did. While they dismissed the complaints, they also instructed Corby to take the posts down, because they had caused offence.

Corby could have complied and agreed to keep his head down from then on. This is what many people do in situations similar to his, and they do so for understandable reasons. But not Corby. He recognised that, in asking him to take down his posts, his employers were abandoning any pretence of impartiality. They were coming down on one side of the BLM debate. They were effectively instructing him to publicly recant his deeply held views, which he expressed in a cordial manner. He refused to comply and took his case to the tribunal with the support of the Free Speech Union.

While celebrating the ruling, Cuthbert notes “caveats” in that the ruling relies on the Equality Act’s concept of “philosophical belief”, for which courts have set a high bar. “If we’re serious about free speech we should defend people’s right to air views that do not meet this threshold,” she says.

Worth reading in full.

To my mind, a further problem with the ruling is the implication that Critical Race Theory is also a protected ‘philosophical belief’. But we wouldn’t protect the belief that all black people (or people from any other racial group) are inherently racist and ought to be permanently disfavoured in the workplace and society to overcome their ‘privilege’, so why should we protect the same racist beliefs about white people? It’s plainly invidious to have different rules about what blanket statements can be made about white people and non-white people, and the increasing acceptability of doing so breeds resentment. Opposition to Critical Race Theory isn’t really a ‘philosophical belief’ so much as a commonsense opposition to anti-white racism, and this ruling, though welcome on its own terms, ultimately reinforces the framework that gives the divisive, anti-white ideas being spewed out of American academia their legitimacy.

The article needs updating a little:

The only question is how big it will be – unusually large like 2020-21, or unusually small like 2019-2020 before Covid hit?

. . . or unusually large like 2017/2018 when the UK saw an extra 50,000 deaths due to influenza?

Cherry picking years and winter flu seasons doesn’t show the bigger picture and lie.

Given Pope Frank’s more recent behaviour – and the incontinent company he lately kept – I think the answer to your first question is, clearly, ‘Yes’.
As to the second; only to drink from the baptismal font.
…though polar bears are indisputably white supremacists.

hahahaha, with that type of question, no doubt you are a protestant!
The catholic Church is the only institution on earth which has survived 2000 years, all others disappeared; have you ever wondered why? Didn’t Jesus stated that ‘not even the gates of hell would prevail against her’?
If you got a bible, it’s because the Church created one with the aid of the Holy Spirit; since printing was only invented in late 15th century, surely no protestant existed for 1500 years – that’s a lot of time.
You see, we kept ‘what we first learned’, our faith was transmitted from generation to generation until today, unaltered because God is just one and unchangeable.
Scripture itself warns against the coming of false teachers who would promote ‘another Gospel’, but none of you is entirely hones while reading the bible’ yo pick and choose what is more convenient to your erroneous ideas.
Lol, don’t get me started… I’ve seen this and done that; I’m well used to arguments like yours!!!
Since the time of Abraham that God always had one man at a time to be the intermediary between Him and His children.
To finish, let me inform you that Bergoglio is an impostor, an ecclesiastical freemason; our genuine pope is Benedict XVI, and that is exactly because he never left the vatican.
So to answer your argument, you are right to say Bergoglio isn’t a christian, he’s an impostor… but Benedict XVI is!

Who cares? I doubt the combined covid/influenza hospitalisations will be much worse than a bad flu season.

Despite the mask wearing and lockdowns SARS-CoV-2 has already spread across the country (and Europe) so it is patently absurd to think such measures will start working this time round. People who developed Covid19 have either died or gained immunity so, along with the much vaunted vaccination programme, our herd immunity is already quite good. It could, however, be a lot better if we just back off and let the virus, and consequent immunity, spread a bit more amongst the huge majority who get few or no symptoms.

I agree, but unfortunately the people that now appear to rule our lives (the medico-psycho-political cabal) seem unable to understand the futility of the mask and lockdown measures. These, along with the near-useless inoculations, with their known and unknown toxic and detrimental effects, are the leaking boat in which such people seek to save themselves from responsibility, blame or opprobrium i.e the consequences of their decisions and diktats.

I believe the actions are known as “doubling down”, but in this context, rather more than “double”.

You think they are unable to understand? They’ve known throughout that what they’ve been doing has only amounted to the early stages. They’ve long had the next stage planned. Their “decisions” aren’t public.

You could say this is far more than doubling down. But really it isn’t anything like doubling down. There’s not a debate with another party.

They’ve been very successful so far.

An innocent explanation might be that they have taken us so far down the road to pointless ruination compounded by their reliance on a Saviour Vaccine that has not only been proved useless but quite likely toxic they now simply don’t know what to do other than batten down the hatches.

That is an innocent explanation which does not consider prior malign intent.

No – not ‘symptomless’ (that’s a myth from the Narrative). They just have another cold.

But this is getting worse. My grandaughter has been sent home from school (a generally pretty sensible one) because of cold symptoms. She has had actual SARS-CoV-2 (mild as mild can be), so has real immunity . Testing obviously negative.

Will the U.K. Face a winter Covid surge of protests? Let’s see.

Dispatches from the sticks…

“Get up… stand up… stand up for your rights! Get up… stand up… don’t give up the fight!

One attended the utterleigh butterliegh Totnes freedom bash yesterday. Which the star turn AWAKENING conference event [planned for late afternoon till 22:00] had been crushed by the local council shutting it down with what was once Public Health England now termed UK Health Security Agency legislation.

See what they did there?

The local Mayor too was also persuaded to run a hit piece in the local rag claiming all attending were right-wing extremists, anti-Semitic and worst of all crazy anti-vaxxer conspiracy theorists.

The value part from my perspective was holding up the central medieval town from 20mins of vital Xmas shopping. The collective commotion and Bob’s rallying call blearing out I would say had a fair few tooting horns of support.

Though once the rabble of heretics had slipped into the Devonshire river kissed fields the PR value of a counter-point completely evaporated.

Organizers note.

Ditto seems key to me to furnish a flashmob style swiftly dismantling PR address system of punch. This requires a tech head and at least half-a-dozen bods to pull off.

Tiny megaphones with an audible reach of just 20ft for a crowd of 400 doesn’t cut it.

Best moment of the event was being branded “Morons” by middle-aged bedwetters both blue masked tight wheezing outdoors in the cool fresh air street.

Pure magic.

Be seeing you

Yes indeed. The term “food security” has also been on the rise. The move is towards war against the enemy both “within” and “without”, with full-scale mobilisation albeit different in top flavour.

+1 for “utterleigh butterleigh” with respect to Totnes.

There is serious illness now in the vaccinated in Israel.

“they seem to have gone through immune erosion.. 83 dead in the past month…15 seriously sick….we have no data to learn from…no other country has vaccinated to this extent…”

They also complain that the Health Ministry is being secretive ands not sharing data with the public

Israel appears to be in serious trouble.

Oddly, there’s evidently open discussion on TV.
The professor is asked if he has a clear position on boosters.
He replies that the rationale for boosters is not found anywhere in Pfizer’s clinical dossiers.
He says that there’s no good scientific rationale for a 3rd dose or for mass vaccination of the population.

The rationale is that they’ve already purchased ship loads of the sludge – and some idiot in the Israeli government signed a contract that would be very difficult to get out of.

I found the following bit in an article in the Jerusalem Post of 19 November:

“But Prof. Yehuda Adler, a specialist in cardiology, internal medicine and health management and a coronavirus consultant to local authorities, told N12 on Friday that a study at Sheba Medical Center found that even four months after receiving the booster there is a decline in antibodies, calling into question for just how long these booster shots will be effective.”

The current headlines are about a new wave starting – but in the children – the same children for whom Israel okayed the toxic sludge just a week or two ago. This virus is some amazing thing – it is always attacking just that one age group at just the exact time they want to stab that age group. It is indeed a formidable opponent.

So they go ahead and blitz 85% of the population, to uphold a contract and save an ‘idiot in the Israeli government’ from embarrassment. Yes, that does make sense.

In early July there was a major spike in positive “cases” among the 20-29 cohort in NL. This was directly related to the idiot that is our health mininister encouraging young people to get the one and done (haha) J&J. The original advice was to wait 2 weeks after getting it before going out and doing your thing, but because they were so keen to jab this age group, they said you can get it and go partying right away, they were even offering jabs at night clubs. This led to an immediate spike, which was blamed on allowing the group to mingle, rather than the obvious known fact that the jab suppresses the immune system for at least 2 weeks after being jabbed.

A few weeks ago it came out that the primary reason for the push was because the J&J batchs were about to expire, so they wanted to get them in arms so they wouldn’t have to throw them away. Classy.

They have evidently changed, or my original perceptions were well off-beam, as plainly the recent emergence of “the beast beneath the skin” demonstrates. Nothing like a good civil war, with the citizens under fire; a bit “South American”, and one wonders how long before the pariahs are thrown out of aircraft Argentine-style.

Absolutely correct, and a spot on, common sense article Will.
A most laudable, and totally futile, effort.
Their mindset is completely frozen, preparations are being made to rollout vaxx passports- see the yougov poll yesterday, a total farce.
All they had and have in mind is increasing the vaxx rate and/by following Roy Anderson’s script.
Only people dropping like flies due to the gunk and that not being possible to cover up anymore will wake up the mob, make it drive them out and then, hopefully, send them to the Gulag.
And they know that too.

Look at it from the rulers’ point of view. Of course it’s time to spread one of the following, big time:

  • a new SARS variant
  • a new or existing flu variant
  • a new or existing bacterium.

There will be a surge all right – not just in Britain but across Europe.

There will be shocks. But given that there’s still a lot of value in the “Covid” brand, my money would be on a new SARSCoV2 variant together with a flu variant. Perhaps they will insist on a combined vaccination.

The coronavirus season tends to be mid autumn to January. The flu season tends to be December through to February. This is data for Frimley Heath trust for autumn 2019. They were kind enough to separate out the respiratory admissions into influenza, pneumonia and others. I am aware it’s two years old, it was data I obtained to see if SARS-CoV-2 was present earlier than generally acknowledged, but I think it’s still valid. It does cover the autumn period of 2020 and goes into the beginning of this year.

REINER FUELLMICH SPEAKS TO PSYCHOLOGIST ON WHY SO MANY FOLLOW THE COVID/VAXX NARRATIVE
This is a useful discussion even though it covers many previously known points as it is clear about the mental state of those still unawake, and may help those of us who have family and friends still in this condition.
If anyone here has experience of dealing with sociopathic people (as I have) you will know that when under stress they lie more.
So I expect our governments to use the increase in sickness (in the vaxxed) to increase the assault on the UN-vaxxed.
My experience is that once you have exposed one lie, you are met with many more, but as these people are degraded and inadequate individuals, their lies become increasingly unbelievable to the normal people they think they can delude. They are essentially truncated and inadequate people.
These sociopaths do not realise that they are losing credibility with the normals, as their own personality deficiency prevents them from understanding this.
I think more and more people will wake up, confronted with stratospheric levels of fantasy and corruption from our rulers

Crikey… The BBC (Boris Broadcasting Corporation) must be on something or spice if they are reporting this…

Fresh unrest has erupted in the Netherlands against new lockdown rules amid rising Covid-19 cases in Europe.

People hurled fireworks at police and set fire to bicycles in The Hague, one night after protests in Rotterdam turned violent and police opened fire.

Thousands of demonstrators also took to the streets in Austria, Croatia and Italy as anger mounted over new curbs.

A warning to our Government or is in store for us in the UK.

Yes but….. It’s not about what they say it’s about. I don’t think the crisis has done what it was intended to do yet and that, I suspect, is to collapse the West. I expect that they will keep driving the abject madness to breaking point. Ultimately we could see them attempting to force inject everyone including children even while it is commonly known and obvious that the shots are useless and dangerous. Governments could fall. UN peacekeepers needed to restore order.. order from chaos = happy globalists. Can’t see this going any other way, doesn’t look good. Did UK leave the EU because their financial collapse (along with the USA) was inevitable?

My prediction is that our acquired immunity will keep this down below last year’s level, perhaps to around 60%, but this is really just a guesstimate.

You did not mention ADE-related illnesses……..the ones procured by the jab, the ones that the jab exacerbates.

If the jabs do cause people to drop like flies, then one thing is guaranteed…….the government will blame the UN-jabbed.

I suspect we will be seeing a bad season for respiratory illnesses, which may or may not be corona. It does look like the jab suppresses the immune system for some time, perhaps with regard to all respiratory ailments.

Bumped into my jabbed 18-year old neighbour yesterday who about 5, 6 weeks back had the worst cold ever. He’s now onto his second horrible cold. I told him about the anecdotal evidence of seemingly worse and more respiratory ailments in jabbees. It’s the type of thing people shrug at at first, but they will start noticing as they look around them.

The size of the wave is going to be interesting. Vaccination should keep the wave small, but the evidence of the last few months is that vaccination increases cases — will we get to 100k per day or even 150k?

Hospitalisations/deaths with covid should be reduced compared with last year even with increased cases (because of the vaccines), but watch out for non-covid hospitalisations/deaths (because of the vaccines).

Or more probably because the current dominant variant causes less-severe symptoms than the one which dominant last winter…

They should try ivermectin – nothing else has worked, the virus comes and goes completely ignoring the best efforts of Big Pharma, and only the already frail or compromised suffer. Stopping replication of the virus is, at least, a novel approach and nothing ventured nothing gained.
So far the medical authorities have thrown their collective hands up in despair over their failure to protect people presenting with early symptoms of disease – rather like Ned Flanders’ parents saying “we tried nothing, and it didn’t work”.

‘When covid hit’ exactly when was that 🤔

Huge numbers of people getting really ill around Nov and Dec 2019 and this includes me, my wife and one kid, ive spoken to enough people and been on enough forums to verify the Nov and Dec illness

ONS stats show no massive spike or upturn in mortality till the lockdown in March 2020, in fact, in the build up to the lockdown, apart from the 2nd week in January, all cause mortality trends below its 5 year average week after week.

So ONS only started to record covid deaths in March, then months go by, and i started to see one or two allocated to February on the updated spreadsheets i would download, interestingly

So… It was here before March then, had zero impact on our excess all cause mortality before the March lock down

First recorded case i found was 17th November in China, it took along time to get to the UK didn’t it, if it was indeed March, then i thought will Wuhan must have a small airport, so i thought I’d check..

102 destinations available and the 16th busiest Airport in China, at the time of my research. So not small, very busy, and when did they stop flights, not in Nov or Dec.

It’s more plausible that it was here before March, than it took 4 months to get here from Wuhan or wherever to then start to have an impact – I’m sure we all know 50% of the excess mortality was care home related

Smell a rat, always have done, right from the off

I think the next thing we’re going to see is a surge in Europe is locking down because ot The Deadly Virus[tm] while cold-hearted Tories obsessed with economic gain … headlines regardless of what happens with official COVID numbers. And – of course – Light touch measures like mask mandates or culling of health pupils to protect the vulnerable must urgently be introduced now! etc

If we ignore April 2020, then the Winter spike in mortality has resulted in January being the highest age standardised mortality in England in every Winter between 2001/2002 to 2020/2021 except for 2006 and 2012 when it was February.

So you’d expect January 2021/2022 to be the highest all cause death month this Winter.

Which respiratory illnesses, influenza or covid will most responsible for respiratory illness that is part of the normal winter spike it’s hard to say. I don’t really understand how different viruses compete in the virome to make a prediction. But I expect lots of deaths will be labelled as covid regardless.

Many unvaccinated deaths will be put down to covid even if there isn’t a positive test, there is a death certificate code U07.2 (COVID-19, virus not identified). And that I suspect will be used even if another virus has really been relevant to the death. The code won’t be used for the vaccinated. You can appreciate why doctors who have been acquiescent with the vaccine propaganda would want to do that for their own peace of mind.

The winter surge could be avoided if everyone took Vitamin D at an appropriate dose, e.g. 4,000 iu/day.

Our daily intake is 4,000 iu Vit D, 1,000 iu Vit C, 15 mg Zinc and 500 iu Quercetin and we haven’t had any sickness, not even a cold or indeed hayfever! I cannot say the same for our jabbed friends and family.

4,000 iu/day is definitely on the low side in winter, though that is the ‘generally recommended’ amount. 2 or 3 times that would be better in winter. And get some Ivermectoin, and check the Internet for the Protocl of how much to take etc. (if you can’t get human Ivermectin, use animals (I use dogs). I am not a doctor or medically trained, but I know others have used it successfully, and better get it that way than not get it at all, because of criminal govt. and MHRA suppression of the human form. They are aiding and abetting genocide.

They test for the flu since they’ve never isolated Covid-19. Which makes me wonder how they can tell there is a delta variant. They never isolated the virus but they use a test to show the damage of a solution does on monkey kidney cells then show the cellular debris as proof of the virus. So, they can use this method to claim an UNENDING! amount of variants. A lot of cancers and “viruses” are probably just different forms of parasites. Since the tests can’t differentiate between cold and flu and covid then doesn’t that mean ivermectin cures both the cold and the flu? Welcome to “they’ve been lying to us our entire lives about everything”. Get your Ivermectin while you still can! https://ivmpharmacy.com

It is more than obvious by now, that the Daily Sceptic is yet another tool being used to confuse and mislead people away from any relevant facts; note that C19 doesn’t exist, do everything else are lies… these hopeless and useless articles serve to keep ignorant people distracted from what is relevant.

Where does Will Jones think flu “disappeared” to, if not into the fiddled COVID stats – along with other common resiratory ailments – to help keep the manufactured Big Pharma’s “pandemic” ponzi scheme on the road?

Almost since the start of this whole COVID fixation I have felt it was analogous to the Great War. A mass collective hysteria driven by fear of an enemy ridden by so called elites who want to be in power.

The analogy becomes more relevant by the day. It is clear that governments have zero answer. So they just keep doubling down on repeating the same failed policies: more masks, more lock downs, more vaccines. Zero rationality. Just as (to any sane person) Verdun, Ypres and the various battles of the Isonzo lack rationality too.

The reality that this disease (I genuinely do not believe the causes are fully understood; the viral explanation reflects medical dogma as much as anything) is far less dangerous than everyone believes is now an argument that is impossible to make. Similarly, at Christmas 1914 the rational thing for the belligerent powers to do would surely have been to agree a compromise peace. But they had gone too far and could not do so. This is similar. Am increasingly thinking that western civilization is yet again choosing to destroy itself.

Climate change and Woke both have the same dynamics too, in my view. These are super evil times.

Covid Crusher: Mix one heaped teaspoon of Iodine table or sea salt in a mug of warm clean water, cup a hand and sniff or snort the entire mugful up your nose, spitting out anything which comes down into your mouth. If sore, then you have a virus, so continue morning noon and night, or more often if you want, until the soreness goes away (2-3 minutes) then blow out your nose and flush away, washing your hands afterwards, until when you do my simple cure, you don’t have any soreness at all, when you flush – job done. Also swallow a couple of mouthfuls of salt water and if you have burning in your lungs, salt killing virus and pneumonia there too.
My simple salt water cure, kills all Coronaviruses and viruses, as soon as you think you have an infection, or while self isolating, before the viruses mutate into the disease in your head and body, for which there is no cure.

Thanks Richard – I came across your remedy some months ago when I first became interested in natural medicines and tried it out as an experiment even though I haven’t been sick. Its on my natural cures list!

Make the figures up and you’ve got a winter covid surge. See page 226 of Agenda 30. It’s already been planned.

Of course there will be a large surge. As the vaccinated get every winter cold going they will have no immunity and will tragically suffer. This will be blamed on the unjabbed being carriers which leads very nicely into a lockdown if the unjabbed. OR WORSE. The stage is being set. The gaslighting continues. As the Danish Army said…..stop complying, stop going to work in the public sector, stop your council taxes and every other tax to the government, stop doing as the government tells you and start living your lives. The numbers to break this evil are there. It just needs a consolidated effort to say NO. MORE.

Is Will Jones unaware what doctor after doctor, and scientist after scientist, has said about Cytokine Storms, and the fact that the ‘Covid jabs’ & ‘Boosters’ are progressively destroying people’s natural immune systems?
These doctors and others predict a very high death rate this winter, not from ‘Covid’, but from Cytokine Storms caused by the jabbed people’s decimated immune systems making them vulnerable to whatever bug comes their way.
Needless to say, the govt. and ‘Health Authorities’ (including the NHS) will never admit to the truth, and will likely come up with some new fairy tale, like an even more deadly strain of ‘Covid’.
It should also be borne in mind that many people suspect some of the jabs are placebos, so not all peole who have had jabs may be effected.

Expected Cytokine Storms are likely to bring very high death rate this winter, after people’s natural immune systems have been decimated by the jabs.

It worries and saddens me how many people will quite happily agree with removing the freedom of those who for what ever raison don’t want to be vaccinated it makes me wonder how soon they will be persuaded to remove the freedom of other groups “for the greater good ” of cause not long I fear

“As I see it, the only realistic way there would not be a Covid surge on some scale is if another influenza-like virus takes over, which seems unlikely right now as flu is almost nowhere to be seen.”

Cos it’s called COVID these days!
