Another Campus Speaking Engagement, Another Cancellation – MP No-Platformed From University of Reading Talk

by Ian Macleod
16 April 2023 9:00 AM

These stories seem to follow a pattern. A university group arranges for a speaker to visit with some conservative views. Some activists protest before they are due to speak and the invitation is rescinded. Then a university spokesperson issues a statement affirming the institution’s unwavering commitment to free speech.

This time the intended speaker was Bracknell MP James Sunderland. The former Army Colonel was scheduled to speak at the University of Reading.

The Express has the story.

James Sunderland, the MP for Bracknell, said he feared “for the future of our students” after a planned appearance at the University of Reading was cancelled.

An undergraduate representing Reading University Politics Association told him in an email: “Having previously had such a successful event with MP Tan Dhesi, who’s the Labour MP for Slough, and having many students from across the university thanking us for bringing an MP that quote, ‘looks like them’, we feel it would be inappropriate to bring in somebody whose views [on] immigration conflict with the ethos of the society.”

Mr. Sunderland… a former Army Colonel, said: “I thought about it and thought it was outrageous and shocking. Not only the language being used, but because it was clearly bringing attention to the difference in how I look as the white male with Tan, who is a great friend of mine from neighbouring Slough.”

The MP told GB News: “[The student] came back to me and said that he was the elected President of the student-run body affiliated with the Students Union, not the wide University. And then I said to him, afterwards, how appalled I was with the language.

“I told him how insulted I felt personally, as a former Army Colonel, who’s given 27 years of regular service to my country, served eight operational tours and who commanded the largest and the most diverse unit in the British Army.

“If universities are tolerating this kind of behaviour, and this kind of language, I really fear for the future of our students.”

A spokesperson for Reading University said: “The University has a long and proud history of encouraging debate and discussion. We welcome people of all backgrounds and political viewpoints to our campuses.”

Worth reading in full.

‘Experts have warned the constant stream of daily figures are now almost meaningless’

They were always meaningless.
With PCR tests looking for fragments of genetic material that were based on Drosten guessing what he thought this supposed new virus contained the whole thing was based on a fraud from the word go.

PCR pandemic – 97% false positives – end the testing and the ‘pandemic’ and the “Emergency”

That’s why hey carry on testing.

However who is really “ill”? See Mark Steyn for the shocking truth about Covid outbreaks among the multi-vaxxed, hiding in plain sight in the Government’ s own Official statistics.!

And surely we’ve always known that the presence of a virus (or fragments) isn’t indication of infection, haven’t we? Or so PCR’s real inventor made clear.

Didn’t we have this story yesterday?

Anyway, for me, the story that counts is that Sweden had below average mortality from January 2020 to June 2021.

No they haven’t. Because these are neither “covid”, nor “cases”, and never were. They are claimed positive test results for SARS-COV-2 carried out using inappropriate and hugely over-sensitive tests by cross contaminated commercial labs whose continued existence requires them to sell positive test results, or self reported by bed wetters wanting just one more week of Netflix binging.

This remains just as true when the meaningless number is dropping as for when it is rising.

Don’t give in to the language now that it looks like it’s over, because it will be back again soon enough with a new name and a whole new set of “convenient” tools for “fighting” it.

‘Do I have to get injected against Covid?’
‘No. If you’re insane, you’re exempted.’
‘How do I get exempted?’
‘You have to ask.’
‘And then I’ll be exempted?’
‘No, because then you wouldn’t be insane, so you’d have to get jabbed.’
‘Wow. That’s some Covid, that Covid-22!’

Yes, and if they use the same testing method, but change the genetic primer to match a sequence of varicella, we would have a chickenpox “epidemic” by their standards.
Yet, the questioning of test results was considered as heresy.
I shouldn’t have mentioned that, don’t want to give them any ideas….

The line is drawn and the curse is cast. The Divoc worked its magic in priming the pump for all that follows. They even have wargames which describe this trajectory. And then of course the economic Armageddon. Not to mention the nukes. They’ve got you in exactly the mental state that they want you in. If one person changes their consciousness it affects the entirety of the world scheme. There has to be a strong pulse to the idea that there is everything left to fight for.

This metric (daily number of positive test results) was never reliable because it was always volunteers testing and repeat-testing themselves (who held the country hostage with that since last year). One can nevertheless draw a reliable conclusion from that: It was claimed that mass testing of the healthy was necessary to hold COVID at bay, ie, the prevent a public health catastrophe. Free mass testing of the healthy ceased. No public health catastrophe materialized itself. Ergo: Whatever COVID numbers are still being produced are irrelevant except insofar as they document that there’s no deadly COVID pandemic.

For once I partially agree with many here. Posting case figures is pointless given the change in testing and the story is not worth reading in full or repeating here. Admittances and deaths have more significance but of course they are out of date and subject to the “because of Covid”/”with Covid” uncertainty.

The most meaningful metric has always been the ONS infection survey, reporting the % positive.

Reply to  tree

The ONS infection survey has always been completely meaningless: Prevalence of a property which isn’t randomly distributed can’t be assessed with random probing. Even if it was randomly distributed, the outcome of each individual round of probing wouldn’t mean much as it’s going to differ from the actual number by an unknown amount. A series of such probes could be used to assess the actual prevalence as the cumulative results would converge towards it. That is, if these series of probes would actually be assessing the same thing, namely, the unknown, static prevalence. But prevalence of virus RNA among a population of humans isn’t static.
And there’s a final obstacle on top of that: On its own, prevalence of virus RNA isn’t interesting.

This isn’t really good for anything except generating headlines intended to impress the gullible.

Its called SPRING! Surprise, surprise.

I await Matt Hancock’s book reflecting on the last two years. I’ve heard through the grapevine that two titles are being considered:

Or,

Hmm… positive tests down.. perhaps that’s due to the huge fall in tests administered.

Certainly rises in positive tests was always “explained” by increased testing.

Anyway, did you think it was all over? Well it isn’t if you live in north-east England, at least that’s what the local government parasites in this area would have you believe. Have a look at this load of extreme bollocks:

https://www.beatcovidne.co.uk/

And it was backed up by television adverts the other night. So according to these scroungers, face nappies, anti-social distancing and meeting others only outside are STILL the order of the day.

Isn’t that where they sent whatsherface, the civil servant who wrote the actual covid restriction rules? She moved on from the cabinet office and I think she is now in NE. She recently apologized for attending the famous party.

Nugget:

There are also lots of people who still feel anxious about going out and about now that restrictions have relaxed and seeing others wearing masks could make them feel more comfortable.

Optically, face masks signal that there’s a danger afoot. That’s extremely unlikely to make people who are already scared about it more comfortable. A Step up to beat your local authority! campaign would seem more sensible here.

The text above continues with

Think of wearing a face covering like other things we do that aren’t mandatory, but we do them out of courtesy for others – like washing our hands.

The subtext here being that the undersigned authorities (Durham County Council, Gateshead Council, Newcastle City Council, Northumberland County Council, North and South Tyneside Council and Sunderland City Council) badly want people to hide their faces in public (using Chinese throwaway products manufactured for this purpose). In order to achieve this, they employ a full round of COVID propaganda, specifically

  • asserting that permanently hiding once’s face in public by covering the breathing apparatus would be functionally equivalent to long established, short personal hygenie procedure like washing one’s hands
  • asserting that this would be a courtesty to others, IOW, that people who refuse to hide their faces by covering their breathing apparatus would be impolite and selfish
  • asserting that some people feel anxious about COVID and that other’s permanently hiding their faces in public would make these feel more comfortable

None of these assertions holds water. Washing one’s hands is a short cleaning procedure in order to improve a state. In contrast to this, face masking is a highly visual signal that humans are naturally filthy beyond redemption and thus, must not show their faces in public. Based on this assumption, the undersigned councils decree that doing so ought to be regarded as courtesy to others, despite it’s actually very impolite as it eliminates most of the visual cues humans use to read other humans moods. Lastly, assuming someone his genuinely afraid of COVID, seeing masks all around will mainly serve to remember them that there’s a reason why they should be mortally afraid. In contrast to this, some months of living among unmasked humans who are obviously not succumbing to anything plus the experience of also not succumbing oneself ought to reduce COVID fear. The safety behaviour is gone, yet nothing happened. Maybe the danger wasn’t so great to begin with.

If these local authorities had troops at their disposal, they’ll doubtlessly try to execute their own Zero COVID policy based on the original concept of dividing the country into districts with forcefully secured borders people must not cross and then progressively establishing green zones of allowed travel between districts where Zero COVID has been achieved. If it would work, that is. The reality would be a neverending nightmare of open borders suddenly slamming shut whenever a COVID case has again occurred somewhere.

From the madness of Australia, I implore people to fight for their freedoms while they still have them.

The masks, those hideous abominations, are instruments of terror: meant to intimidate and to maintain people in an almost constant state of anxiety (for one reason or another) in public places.

Not where punishment occurs for those who are not compliant.

In Western Australia, one of Australia’s most totalitarian states, people who do not wear a mask and have no exemption (which must be attested by a letter from a doctor) can be sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment or a fine of $50,000.

There are people who hate the masks with a passion and believe that they are useless or worse than useless; but wear them for fear of being informed upon and, at the very least, subjected to police questioning.

Look in your back garden. Can you really say that there is anything healthy about the future that we are moving into. You can just ignore the precipitous decline in insects and wildlife or you can be a man and ask what is going on. I wouldn’t leave it too long. These people have a very different agenda to that of your friends and family. You need to acknowledge it and act accordingly.

I have to ask: falling ‘cases’ – anything to do with falling tests? Yes? So in the past all that hysteria about ‘surges’ in cases was just lots of CoVid Piss-pants snorting cotton swabs?

646 death in a week 😱. But, but, there are usually around 13 000 all cause deaths in a week. And we known, yes we do, CoVid does not cause any additional deaths in the population, just reduces the waiting times in God’s waiting room.

I wonder why more isn’t said about the FOI results from borough councils, giving numbers of cremations/burials over the five years up to 2020. Little difference in the figures from year to year. But then suddenly there was that strange ‘spike’ in the winter of 2021. Now I wonder what could have caused THAT…….

Funnily enough, this seems to correspond with the change in charging for tests. Before the government stopped giving free tests, the so called infection/case rates were through the roof. Here we are four weeks after the tests weren’t given away for free and the infections/cases are through the floor.

Funny that, don’t test and covid goes away, who knew.

The tests are a fraud for reasons and from studies that have been mentioned repeatedly for 2 years now. So forget the word cases and infection in the title, it’s all meaningless. As Dr Mike Yeadon has said repeatedly, everything is lies. And since when does a respiratory type illness never want to end exactly? They only ever last for a few short months and then you move onto the next cold or flu. Unless you want a Trojan horse to introduce the NWO of course. So people need to let this go now and stop testing themselves for the “new” type of cold or flu and stop writing about it too. Focus on what is now going on behind the scenes to control more and take away freedoms and what you can do.

Well said. I doubt very much if there were ever a great number of ”covid deaths” all through this mad manipulation. Most people who’ve ever die of flu (or similar, like SARS) have been suffering from something else that was affecting their health. How laughably easy it has been for a doctor to scribble ”covid” on the death certificate. Covers a multitude of ”sins”, doesn’t it?
