Andrew Bridgen, the British politician suspended as a Conservative MP over allegations of being anti-Semitic in a tweet criticising the Covid vaccines, has been defended by the Jewish Israeli academic whose article he linked to in the tweet in question.
Dr. Josh Guetzkow, a senior lecturer in criminology and sociology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, told the Daily Sceptic that as a Jew living in Israel he was “surprised” by the accusations against Mr. Bridgen, because “there is nothing at all anti-Semitic about his statement”.
Mr. Bridgen became embroiled in allegations of anti-Semitism after tweeting on Wednesday morning that the Covid vaccines are “causing serious harms” and the vaccination campaign is “the biggest crime against humanity since the holocaust”.
Shortly afterwards he had the Conservative whip removed – meaning he was suspended from sitting as a Conservative MP and has to sit as an independent – for “crossing a line” in spreading “misinformation about the vaccine” and “causing great offence in the process”.
Tory Chief Whip Simon Hart said:
Andrew Bridgen has crossed a line, causing great offence in the process. As a nation we should be very proud of what has been achieved through the vaccine programme. The vaccine is the best defence against Covid that we have. Misinformation about the vaccine causes harm and costs lives. I am therefore removing the whip from Andrew Bridgen with immediate effect, pending a formal investigation.
John Mann, the Government’s independent anti-Semitism adviser, was unequivocal, saying: “There is no possibility that Bridgen can be allowed to stand at the next election. He cannot claim that he didn’t realise the level of offence that his remarks cause.”
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that he “completely condemn[ed] those types of comments in the strongest possible terms”.
“Obviously it is utterly unacceptable to make linkages and use language like that and I’m determined that the scourge of antisemitism is eradicated,” he told the Commons on Wednesday.
“It has absolutely no place in our society. I know the previous few years have been challenging for the Jewish community and I never want them to experience anything like that ever again.”
The Board of Deputies of British Jews tweeted: “For an MP to suggest that Covid vaccines are the biggest crime against humanity since the Holocaust is unconscionable. We will be writing to the Chair of the Conservative Party Nadhim Zahawi to express our deep concern and to ask for clarification as to what action will be taken.”
However, Dr. Guetzkow, whose tweeted article details the alarming, recently-released analysis of vaccine adverse event data from the U.S. CDC, said this is a “tempest in a teapot”.
“The hollow accusations against him only distract from genuine examples of anti-Semitism and ultimately hinder attempts to draw attention to them, much like the boy who cried wolf,” he said.
It is clear from the statement by the Chief Whip that Mr. Bridgen’s chief sin is to have criticised the vaccines. Mr. Hart’s statement notably does not mention anti-Semitism, but rather says that Mr. Bridgen is having the whip removed for “misinformation about the vaccine”, which “causes harm and costs lives”, adding only that he had caused “great offence in process”.
The allegations of anti-Semitism therefore appear to be just the opportunity party chiefs needed to mete out the punishment to the vaccine heretic.
What’s worse, as Dr. Guetzkow says, the anti-Semitism allegations are plainly ill-founded and only distract from the real anti-Semitism that continues to harm Jews around the world.
Stop Press: Dr. Guetzkow has pointed out that Holocaust survivor Vera Sharav has been drawing parallels between the extreme and discriminatory public health measures during the pandemic and the Holocaust throughout the the last three years.

Coming to think of this, this doesn’t seem likely because of the careful weaselwording of the BBC statement: They mean to imply (and everybody’s going to understand that) likened but they didn’t actually write it, just compared. And The Holocaust was worse than X is certainly technically a comparison of X and the Holocaust.
So here is the thing. With his very statement Bridgen is trying to force a debate about the issue. And it’s a bit of “check” move. If the government wants to rebut the statement it is left with some difficult options.
I’m not sure why simply not saying anything wasn’t an option. Maybe they tried for a while and he just wouldn’t shut up and go away, so they’ve dealt with him with option 3.
This is why ultimately I have no respect or trust in our system or the people in it. The accusation of anti-semetism leaves no room for debate or discussion. They are signalling to Bridgen that the only exit for him is total submission to them. Toe the line or get destroyed.
Bridgen has a tricky few days in front of him to decide whether he bows to them or commits political suicide, at least for the immediate future.

I’m curious as to how calculated Bridgen’s statement is – whether he chose the words quite deliberately knowing it would bring bigger attention to the issue or whether he was inadvertently giving another example of Godwin’s law.

It has been admitted that all of the vaxxes have led to the deaths of people. First that was denied, until that was no longer possible, so slowly a handful of deaths have been admitted and payments have been made. There have been precious few autopsies and a lot of denial, we have no idea how many people died directly due to the vaxx. It will, of course, ultimately come out that and how people died – cardiac events and cancers undoubtedly leading the way, followed by debilitating neurological and autoimmune diseases. When this has been fully established, as it will be, then we can start totting up numbers. Having administered this toxic garbage to several billion people worldwide, it is not a far stretch to say that over a number of years we may easily be looking at 6 million or more deaths, certainly if they keep pumping this carp into people. All due to governmental malfeasance. The comparison may well be more apt than it appears at first.

Yes, a poor choice of words for a tweet but the swiftness and severity of the response suggests to me – and I say this as a Jew – that purported anti-semitism (which I do not see here by the way) is being used as a smokescreen when there are growing questions about the vaccines themselves. I think what this boils down to, as alluded to here by Will, is that nobody had a counter-argument worth a carrot to levy against the nuts-and-bolts substance of Mr Bridgen’s arguments; the arguments condemning his speech as containing “misinformation” obviously hold no water. For example, it is merely stated and not backed up, that “the vaccines are the best protection we have against Covid” and that they have “saved millions of lives” (something that can never be demonstrated to be beyond reasonable doubt).

I very much doubt anyone think he hates Jews. Possibly some people are genuinely offended by whatever he said, but most of those condemning it are just seizing on it as a convenient way to smear and silence him.

He only cites and, if anything, he, or rather the source, compares the crime with Nagasaki, Stalin’s, Mao’s&co, the Vietnam war, the 500.000 children killed in Iraq that were ‘worth it’ or with Thalidomide&co, but certainly not with the Big H. and, if anything, he is not relativizing the Big H. thereby, but cementing it further on its pedestal.
But as the statement of Mr. Hart shows, they fully know that and are basically just using this to put into writing and action that any criticism of the holy gene-therapies is completely verboten.
This is, of course, a move now born out of sheer desperation and, as Berenson just remarked, solely made to shield everyone involved from any liability.
There is only one thing that is really wrong with Mr. Bridgen and his source’s statement: they might eventually be proven right, personally I think they will, but at the moment, the bigger and biggest crime since the Big H. is the deliberate sabotage of early Covid treatment options and cocktails on the basis of readily available cheap medicines like Ivermectin, HCQ&co.
That crime is enhanced further and really constitutes a hate crime, because it was done not just out of neglect, but primarily to obtain the EUA for the gene therapies.
And that hate crime was made even more heinous, when they also went for the children, solely to obtain liability protection for the fully approved product versions.

Andrew Bridgen is being attacked for expressing his political/philosophical beliefs – which is unlawful discrimination under the Equality Act 2010.

A few days ago on GB News Andrew Bridgen asked people who wanted to help to write to their MPs.
So pick your main points well – there are plenty here to choose from and write remembering to confirm you are a constituent.
And if you get no response write again. And again. And again.
If you want to cut the head off the serpent there is no doubt whatsoever that corruption in Whitehall enables all of this.
In the 1980s, Whitehall civil servants were first allowed to develop contacts to and ties with commerce and industry. It was predictable then that would lead to an increase in corruption and it has. It has had 40 years to develop to where it is now.
Direct experience of corrupt practices in Government agencies and some statutory bodies is that corruption can only take place at the grace and favour or direction of the most senior civil servants. Whilst I am sure they will all disagree with this view, to me it is the only consistent coherent and indeed inevitable explanation. Even our security services are tainted.
Thatcher’s favourite sitcom “Yes Minister” was in truth a comedy about Whitehall corruption in the proper sense of the word.
Most troubling is the silence about it from politicians – especially the majority of UK MPs – who never address it.
And of course the left are happy to have democracy undermined so keep silent to control us all when they get power.
A public example of the web of Whitehall corruption is the recent Greensill scandal. Greensill was reportedly first brought in by the cabinet secretary at the time. The government’s chief commercial officer began working as an adviser to Greensill Capital in 2015 – while still employed in the civil service. He was given official approval to do this. And then in 2016, after leaving office, David Cameron became an adviser to Greensill Capital. He was given share options reportedly worth tens of millions of pounds. Clearly, if it was not for the actions of the civil servants, Cameron would not have been exposed to a person and company which he presumably believed from his civil servants was beyond reproach. His subsequent actions were however still unwise.
There are many other examples the public never gets to learn about.
There is reason to believe manipulation from Whitehall is far more common than anyone realises and is across the board and includes at least several statutory bodies.
Former Whitehall civil servants appointed as executive day-to-day management to run some agencies and statutory bodies can oil the wheels of and ease the way for manipulation.
How is it the Statistics Authority is able to publish false statistics like the Covid death statistics? It is only possible if sanctioned at the highest levels in Whitehall in my view.
It is unlikely the UK is alone in this. A recent example is Dr Fauci of the USA, made public in Robert F Kennedy Jnr’s book The Real Anthony Fauci. It is now in a documentary film. The book had sold over 1.1 million copies by early last year and had 22,144 Amazon ratings [more now no doubt] giving it 4.8 out of 5 stars.
Why is the UK NHS costing 40% of GDP when historical scientific knowledge tells us our generations should be the healthiest to have trodden the earth?
And why are there so many chronic illnesses with only palliative treatments and not cures?
