Some of the comments you here about people like Ron DeSantis and Brazil’s Pres Bolsanaro would indicate that these people are the embodiment of right wing fascist evil up there with the worst of the 20th century fascists. And yet when you hear DeSantis talk about the right to visit your loved ones in hospital, when you hear Bolsanaro talk about the freedom to choose whether to have a vaccine or not, these people seem like balanced, level headed individuals. I am not going to pretend for a moment that either of them are perfect in every way, they both have their faults but they both seem to act as if they really believe and try to live up to the spirit of Lincoln’s Gettysburg address;
that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.
