Dozens of protesters have waded into the sea in Portsmouth to confront 140 illegal migrants rescued from a packed mega-dinghy and being escorted by British lifeboats, supported by a helicopter and a plane. The Mail has the story.
The group sprinted across Eastney Beach and entered the water yesterday afternoon, chanting “stop the boats” and “enough is enough” at the moment migrants arrived on a UK Coastguard vessel.
Clips posted online later showed asylum seekers being ushered off lifeboats to shore, where they were met by several buses which took them to a processing centre in Kent.
Hundreds of demonstrators blocked the road to stop coachloads of new arrivals leaving. After being dispersed by riot police, some got into cars and followed the buses on their journey to Kent.
It is the second major UK anti-migrant protest in two days after the Port of Dover was shut down on Saturday.
More than 500 protesters gathered on the Hampshire coastline and dozens entered the sea four miles from Britain’s Royal Navy headquarters to demand the asylum seekers be returned to France.
The mega-dinghy had set off from the Baie de Seine in Normandy – a 180-mile drive from Calais – suggesting people smugglers are expanding their launch points along the French coast to evade enforcement efforts.
But rather than intervene, the French coastguard shadowed the vessel for ten hours, claiming it was too dangerous because of the number of people on board.
British lifeboats, supported by a helicopter and a plane, then took over and brought the migrants to the UK.
Following calls to action on social media, protesters flocked to the coast and spent at least five hours on the beach and in the water.
They then attempted to stop the migrants being taken to Kent in a demonstration that went on until 3am on Monday, when police threatened arrests after a dispersal order was imposed.
Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp said: “The last 24 hours have seen multiple violations of the UK border by mega-dinghies full of illegal immigrants which the French authorities have allowed to depart.
“Andy Burnham and Shabana Mahmood have been boasting about French action, but hundreds of illegal immigrants arriving in just a few hours shows this is not working
“Their weak approach is leaving our border wide open, with almost 20,000 illegal immigrants crossing so far this year. Only rough seas have prevented even more crossings.”
Hampshire and the Isle of Wight’s Tory police and crime commissioner Donna Jones said it is a “significant issue” for the Government if people smugglers shift their destinations away from Dover.
In protest footage shared on social media, a riot officer appeared to be pushed from his motorbike as demonstrators, many wearing caps and hoods, shouted: “Shame on you.”
Further clips showed officers carrying shields ordering the crowd to “get back” before pushing some protesters away from a nearby police van.
The protest is thought to have been spearheaded by Daniel Thomas, the Tommy Robinson associate from Hampshire whose Patriot Platform group organised a mass demonstration in Dover on Saturday.
Livestreaming the protest Thomas – also known as Danny Tommo – said yesterday: “It was only [on Saturday in Dover] when we warned them that we will not accept this any more, and that it is no longer an option to tell us the boat numbers are down.
“This isn’t about the numbers being down. This is about understanding that this has to come to an end now.”

Excellent. But what of the flip side of the coin – mass legal migration?
What is done with these boats? Are they seized and destroyed or recycled? Are the crews allowed to take them back to France for another load?
My understanding is that they are seized, auctioned off, bought back by the smugglers for pennies in the pound, and reused by another batch of illegals. It may be, now they’ve been rumbled, this practice has been curtailed; I’m not holding my breath.
The government, the police, the NGOs and the RNLI are helping people traffickers smuggle people illegally into this country.
Why are they not being investigated for people smuggling crimes?
If I wanted a law firm to draft a letter to the Metropolitan Police asking why this investigation is not being conducted can anyone recommenced such a firm?
Of course I recognise this is probably a futile gesture but it’d be worth spending a few quid to see the response.
As I wrote in the previous post the RNLI are a charity – perhaps a letter to the Charity Commission?
Perhaps the protesters could also use shields? For purely defensive reasons of course.
Is at all possible that the problem is that our state is actually physically incapable of stopping ALL migrant boats without putting the country under some sort of quasi martial law?
And I really don’t get why all the attention goes to boat crossings when the vast majority of immigration – legal and otherwise – comes in through perfectly ordinary routes. The majority, not by a bit but by many many multiples.
The small-boat invasion is obviously being staged by our government. Which means that the focus on the criminal immigrants reaching our shores by dinghy is an attempt to distract us from the legal (but equally unwanted) immigrants coming here by other means.
“…without putting the country under some sort of quasi martial law?”
Some argue that is the intention.
With sufficient buses, tents, pyjamas, and riot police readily on hand to facilitate this latest “invasion”, from an unexpected place in France to an unexpected destination in England, does it not suggest that it may just be a government sanctioned operation? Only asking.
No merely government sanctioned, but government organised.
The government will need foreign mercenaries to help crush the British people. Military barracks are great places to train them. Go figure.
They are anyway.
Do any of the “men” from the police or RNLI ever think that their wives, daughters, sisters, mother might become victims?
Or sons..?
“Iraqi man, 33, appears in court accused of raping boy, 14, in an alleyway in Portsmouth and stalking a woman” Daily Mail
Police – supporting crime? Illegal immigration is crime isn’t it?
I thought the police’s job was to stop crime, not to stop members of the public from stopping it.
Silly me.
YES. The psychological manipulation is clear for all to see. Double standards. We have a government which is clearly hostile to the British public.
If they condone vigilantism, they’re basically admitting they can’t keep law and order by themselves. That’s not going to happen, is it?
They’ll change the definition of a crime before allowing vigilantism. Or they’ll tell you that what is a crime isn’t really a crime. As indeed they are doing. (They’re refugees, not illegal immigrants. They’re poor hungry people responding to the intolerable inequities of our society, not scumbag petty supermarket thieves. What grooming gangs? etc…)
And still they keep pushing the Tommy Robinson establishment narrative which Farage clearly approves of. I’m surprised they didn’t take the opportunity to remind us of his real name. Why don’t they do that with Zac Polanski and his history of boob whispering? I wonder how long before Danny Tommo is arrested on trumped up charges and banged up in solitary confinement for his own safety of course.
On The World at One today, they spent several minutes interviewing one of the activists who admitted being part of that. Admitted having been a participant with T R activities in London etc.
What do you expect if you challenge authority? A pat on the back?
Just to dispel any illusions, the BBC and other licensed media are the mouthpieces of authority in Britain and the police are its pretorian guard.
At least we live in modern times. Once upon a time, challenging the ultimate authority would get you hung, drawn and quartered.
It says everything about the hierarchy of crimes that the most brutal, terrifying, horrific punishment was reserved for that particular crime. Not stealing, not killing, not rape, not mass fraud, but challenging those who considered themselves the ultimate authority.
Dover, no arrests and compliance with dispersal order. Portsmouth, no violence, water splashing, family groups in plain clothes while police in riot gear shoving men and women with shields, despite the people doing nothing. But the ordinary people are branded as thugs last night and this morning. Also, despite no evidence of wrong doing and to support the government bullshit press remarks, we hear this lunchtime of injuries to police and damage to vehicles. Prove it, I say. Keep calling the ordinary people thugs, keep calling them racist and they will oblige you by becoming those things, as the government fails to keep the scum out.
And the far left media like the BBC and Guardian are desperately trying to portray these as violent thugs although all the evidence is there was no violence, whilst describing the BLM riots with huge damage to property as largely peaceful. Go figure.
This reminds me of what happened in Epping. The locals staged a peaceful and good-natured protest. The only trouble was when the Lefties were bussed in to turn things nasty.
Injuries to police? Damage to vehicles? Don’t care.
At this point they can only be viewed as traitors.
100%
They chose the wrong side, they should in fact have turned around and arrested the home office staff, the RNLI and the NGOs on the beach.
Human trafficking and people smuggling is after all illegal.
….and not one word from the Government….. nothing. On Tousi TV last night there were a series of reports of the migrants in Italy and Spain now physically attacking people.
Meanwhile on the TV the RNLI are appealing for people to leave money to them in their wills……
I will, pun intended, not leave them a penny.
Neither donate nor bequeath. They are complicit in the invasion of illegals.
As we were keen sailors when we were younger, and we have no children, we originally planned to leave money to the RNLI. That idea went out of the window some time ago, as soon as they started to treat their volunteers appallingly, followed by their taxi service to the illegals.
MODERATOR HERE
Well done, afterguard, full approval from the foredeck crew [and I’ve been towed in, if not exactly rescued, by RNLI many moons ago – rope around prop, would have cut it off if need be]…….

Funny how the Tories have only started speaking out like this now they’re no longer in government.
No surprise there. They understand how a uniparty system operates, it’s the sheep that don’t get it.
