“Burnham arrives in Kyiv as he hands over secret missile plans”
Did he obtain the consent of Parliament or People or the UK Armed Forces for this Treason in Plain Sight?
It’s Kiev. Don’t pander to people who want to mutilate the English language.
Renaming places into the language spoken in that place doesn’t annoy me as much as renaming women as people who menstruate, breast feeding as chest feeding etc. but it comes fairly close.
You are absolutely right that it’s important to stand up to the Globalist attempt to force us to “mutilate the English language”, and it’s always been “Kiev”, and always will be “Kiev”, but I was just quoting the Round-Up headline link.
As for annoying, I’ve just tried to watch the following exclusive report on a brave Englishman who went undercover in an Illegal Alien camp in France, but every time he tried to explain or describe what happened, the Shrieking Harridan Camilla Tominey INTERRUPTED HIM to stick her oar in and put words in his mouth, breaking his train of thought again & again. I couldn’t stand it anymore, and stopped watching.
I really think this video ought to be required viewing for feminists of all ages, to open their eyes to this appalling behaviour by MOST WOMEN, relentlessly interrupting men trying to talk, and breaking their train of thought so many times that they often just give up and walk out, or just give up saying anything, and let the woman witter on… and on… and on…
I believe ALL WOMEN are guilty of this to a greater or lesser extent, and it’s time they opened their eyes, stopped… Read more »
May I add these two contrasting news items to the Round-Up:
Jason Arday’s family ‘deeply moved’ as fundraiser reaches £224,000
That’s nice, since Arday’s net worth has already been estimated at £500,000 – £1,000,000 from all the academic posts he fraudulently obtained, soon to have his new book royalties added to the pile, and now a quarter of a million pounds in “donations”.
Nowak murderer & his mum given £150k taxpayer-funded legal aid as killer ‘launches shameless bid to OVERTURN conviction’
“214,000 migrants let into the UK under a scheme that shut five years ago”
In other words, the Home Office deliberately acted illegally 214,000 times. On top of all its other crimes. And will anyone working there be prosecuted?
Readers may have seen my rant about Companies House a couple of days ago. I complained about the huge rise in fees for submitting an annual return (now called Confirmation Statement) even though it is all now online and self-service. I complained about the errors in their software and the high salaries.
Today I have received an email reminding me to submit the information I submitted days ago. It includes the usual threats if I fail to do it. I have checked online that Companies House records show I have already done what they now demand.
Their IT and Comms systems are clearly even worse than I thought. In the financial services industries, such communications sent to customers could lead to regulatory penalties. In the public sector it is the “customer” (aka enforced supplicant) who pays and puts up with the incompetence.
I have noticed the same since 2020. Communications from this odious Cardiff fortress are now gratuitously threatening and abusive. Their IT systems are incompetent and their staff are error-prone. Yet they answer to no-one.
So let me get this straight: they charge you for robbing you? I mean, if you get nothing worthwhile in return for your taxes, but you’re severely punished for not paying them, isn’t that robbery?
Computer says “No, but, yes, but…
Perhaps the announcement was “sexed up” by the Labour spin machine but if they really have handed all the design details of the missile to Ukraine it is a big mistake. We do not know whose hands these may end up in. We do not know if Ukraine will always be able to respect them. We do not know how many deep Russian spy assets remain.
What this story really discloses is the lack of manufacturing capacity in this country.
We should be building more of these missiles, or the mark three version for ourselves, and a production run ought to be cheaper than anything the Ukrainians can build. We know it isn’t because we have so few factories, so few skilled engineers and assembly staff and so few who are prepared to work.
To announce this at all is pure press spin – performative government.
More importantly, why has Burnham gone to Kiev and why does it now have to be called Kyiv? Are supermarkets going to have to start selling chicken kyivs? In English it’s always been, and always should be Kiev, it’s the same with all the other places that have been renamed, e.g. the country is Turkey not Turkiye. Presumably we don’t expect foreigners to say England or London, they use the names that exist in their language, we should keep using English.
Zelensky was the first foreign leader to visit London after Burnham became PM and now he’s gone to Kiev. Presumably he’s going to be the same as Starmer and spend loads of time grandstanding on the world stage, as well as his pointless grandstanding in No10 of the North once a week, because he hasn’t got a clue how to solve any of the problems facing the UK.
I think that’s already happened.
Why not go the whole hog (mixed metaphor?) and call it Chechen Kyiv?
Given how cheap the “value” ones are I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re partly hog, uterus, bollock etc kievs.
I think the Chicken must have complained.
More likely sold to Iran.
More than 70,000 social and affordable homes to be built across England over 10 years says Aunty
I guess that means that out of the 1.5m new homes that were previously promised, 1.43m of them will be unaffordable?
New houses require new infrastructure. Our electricity grid is already struggling since we knocked down most of our baseload power stations, and don’t even get me started on sewage/water… Do the people coming out with these announcements have a single clue what they’re talking about?
That was rhetorical, right?
🙂
If there were far fewer regulations about new homes being net zero they’d be quicker and cheaper to build and more might get built each year.
It’s not just electricity and sewage, there’s loads of other infrastructure that should be built alongside new housing. There’s a huge amount of new housing on the outskirts of Inverness, in one area enough new homes for well over 1,000 people have been built in the last 10 years or so. There’s only one road in and out of that area, the nearest GP surgery, shop, takeaway of any kind etc. is at least a mile and a half away and people are going to have to commute to work. Traffic on the road must be a nightmare during the school run and commute, I bet people who live further down the road and have done so for the last 10 years are pissed off about how much longer it’s now taking them to get anywhere.
It’s claimed that, in percentage terms, Inverness is the fastest growing city in Europe. Based on the changes I’ve seen in the 13 years I’ve lived there most of the increase in population is non-white, when I first… Read more »
Nope…
In some cases the water companies are refusing to allow developers to connect new projects to the sewers lines. Developers who apply to build their own local sewage disposal for the development are being refused by local authorities.
“Social and Affordable homes” = sold or rented (or free) at a loss, therefore welfare benefits funded by – I wonder who? The taxpayer?
Umm ‘mansion tax police’..so more snivel serpents sucking off the teat of the state? I would love to see what assessments are made of costs versus tax take. Plus the optics of tax inspectors nosying around? I think it will be desktop and another IT error strewn cockup if they even attempt it. Red meat to the lefty base though.
Costs – a few hundred each to do the visits, many of which will be to houses under the threshold. Then cost of appeals from clearly erroneous assessments (or because the owner tries to sell and finds they can’t get anywhere near the assessed value).
Have they passed legislation to compel householders to admit tax inspectors? Or is it all to be done by private intimidation like the TV licence people?
in other words, Labour’s plan to destroy Britain accelerates.
Is it Labour’s plan? I don’t see much difference with what the Conservatives were doing before them.
It’s basically the plan of the permanent administrative state. The parties just take turn to be the frontmen.
Indeed. And Badenoch thinks she can win an election using the rump of what was left after the carnage of the last election. (When you’re so useless that you usher in a Starmer government, it’s difficult to detect the possibility of bounce-back.)
