GB News presenter Patrick Christys and his pregnant wife were ordered to flee their home in the dead of night after Metropolitan Police issued a formal threat-to-life notice following his undercover work exposing people smugglers in Calais. Christys says he was subsequently tracked on a London street by a trafficker he had confronted in France, and that police disconnected the couple’s panic alarm without warning. A prominent television news journalist is living under a death threat from human traffickers following a confrontation with small-boat gangsters in northern France.
Patrick Christys, who presents the Tonight current affairs show on GB News, has told The the Mail the threat is so serious that the Metropolitan Police ordered him to abandon his home in the small hours of the morning.
Christys and his heavily pregnant wife – fellow GB News presenter Emily Carver – were warned the intelligence services believed their lives were at risk because of his work exposing people smugglers in Calais. They were told to pack their bags and hide with friends.
Today, recounting his ordeal for the first time, Christys says he is angry and exasperated by the failure of the British authorities to tackle the gangs, who he says operate in plain sight.
He is also concerned his young family were exposed to danger when the Metropolitan Police disconnected their panic alarm without warning. In one chilling episode, Christys says he was tracked down on a London street by a trafficker from Calais. Twelve months on, the couple have round-the-clock security.
“This is personal for me,” he said. “I want everyone to understand the reality of who we’re letting in to our country. These human traffickers wanted to kill me in my own home while my wife was eight months pregnant.
“Who knows if they’d have tried to harm my wife and son in order to get to me? It makes me incredibly angry that we let illegals into the country – who we all pay for. Then we let those same people make millions of pounds trafficking yet more illegals to Britain.
“They feel so emboldened, they thought they could kill a TV journalist in his own home and get away with it.”
The couple’s extraordinary story began in July last year when Christys started identifying human traffickers and alerting the authorities.
“I realised how easy it was to track them down,” he explained. “They advertise on TikTok. Then to talk about locations, times, prices, you move on to WhatsApp.
“Yet nothing seemed to be done. So, we decided to front them up ourselves.’ Christys and a camera crew arrived in Calais at 9am; by midday he had confronted three smugglers, receiving death threats in the process. But it was on his return that the ordeal began.
“I was broadcasting live on TV when my wife called me in an ad break saying ‘You need to come home, the police are here. Someone wants to kill you.
“I got back just after midnight on July 25. The police read out an official ‘threat to life’ notice.
“It said, ‘As a result of your recent journalistic coverage of organised crime groups in northern France we are aware that members of those organised immigration crime groups are seeking to actively engage with you to cause you significant harm.“
The officers themselves were more direct.
“They said, you need to get out of your flat right now. Pack a bag, don’t drive your car – which might be booby trapped – book a black cab. Go to a safe house. Get out of here and don’t come back.“
On July 26, the Met fitted a panic alarm and, a few days later, the couple were allowed back home.
“Meanwhile, I decided to carry on at work as normal – as if nothing had happened,“ he continued. “I was bundled in and out of the office in secret. The police told us to disguise ourselves if we went out.”
Patrick and Emily – both 34 – were still coming to terms with the threat they faced when their son, George, was born just a few weeks later. And it was then, stepping out of the hospital for a cigarette, that Christys found himself shaken for a second time.
“One of the people I’d exposed in Calais was a runner for a trafficking gang. He wore a distinctive ring with a design like the Palestinian flag. I saw someone in the corner of my eye – this same guy – walking towards me. He walked up to me, paused and I thought, ‘This is it. He’s going to do me’.
“We locked eyes and he held my gaze, and then walked off. I’m 100% sure it was the same man. It’s an incredible coincidence or a chilling signal.” There was further anxiety a few weeks later when the couple were told the police wanted the panic alarm back.
“When the contractors turned up to take it away, I pleaded with them to leave it. But they said the alarm had already been disconnected for ten days because the police didn’t have enough. They’d switched the alarm off without telling us!”

Just goes to show how easily the traffickers could be stopped, and yet they’re not. We’re not being invaded. We’re being colonised.

Oh this is rich. A jounalist does what your intelligence services SHOULD be doing, and he gets woken up in the middle of the night by your police and told to run Forrest run. Honestly, I read this article in pure amusement. If a flipping jounalist can hunt down people smugglers, what exactly are your “intelligence services doing”. Anyone know? And you Brits continuously laugh at my president, who has dealt with illegal immigration quite effectively in two short yrs.You have to wonder what’s in it for your gov’t to allow people to be trafficked in, when they choose to do nothing about it, accept frighten the jounalist attempting to find out. Smugglers threatened the journalist? Think again.
I do not mock your President who serves his country well. He has identified the problem (Agenda 2030) and told the UN where to stick it. Jealous doesn’t even begin to cover it.
I firmly believe that the Establishment is deliberately shipping these dangerous criminals into the country and is deliberately letting them operate here.
None of this is accidental or a consequence of incompetence.
They WANT them here; and they are enjoying making the furious British people pay for them.
Looking at the photo I half expected him to start belting out ‘House Of The Rising Sun’.
The way the police go about giving news of a death threat, one is inclined to think they are taking part in applying scare tactics and adding to the pressure.
Mr Christys and his family must be seriously inconvenienced because a major crime has been threatened against them and there is absolutely nothing the authorities can do about it. I think that constitutes building on the first crime of invading the UK’s borders. All part of the plan for “well-managed migration” (see UN Agenda 2030).
So the threat to Patrick, according to police, was his own fault. If he hadn’t done his job (so well) he would not have been at threat. That is what the police statement is reported to have said.
Maybe if the border force, home office and police did their jobs better then Patrick and the rest of us would be safer. Then again perhaps the political class might welcome more attacks on its critics.
We can be sure the Main Stream Media will dispute the accuracy of this story just as they called Farage a liar when he commented on an arson attack on his property.
The establishment blob hate being shown up as being totally incompetent and a waste of taxpayers money by ordinary people. They are utterly without shame and need exterminating before the country can progress.

“We have very good intelligence that you, personally, are being imminently targeted for murder, so you and your family had better leave home and live the rest of your lives in hiding. Unfortunately, although our information is so excellent and infallible, we have absolutely no idea who it comes from, and no way of finding out, so we can neither arrest them nor protect you.”

Probably one of the worst days in most people’s lives (but most of ‘em don’t know it).
Can anyone explain to me how it’s come to pass that we have another Labour government in power with a huge majority? And just saying it’s because people are stupid doesn’t do it.
Why that date? On the question, the First Past the Post electoral system put the “Labour” Party in power.
This is a truly harrowing story from such an excellent journalist and shows how deep this country has sunk. Whether it is Albanian drug cartels or illegal migrant gangs, their ability to seemingly operate so freely in this country is unbelievable. How is organised crime able to transgress our societal norms so easily?
From the most serious crimes such as these, down to the lowest level scams, they are able to live freely and make money – how? If an ordinary member of the public wants to move house, buy a car, enter a mobile phone contract, we have to provide so much information. Forget about opening a new bank account, the compliance requirements for that make it impossible for businesses and small charities, so how do the drug dealers, human traffickers, even the mobile phone scammers manage it? Why should a journalist have to put his life and his family at risk and why aren’t the police able to shut these gangs?
Yes, and I’m glad the media and public have responded with protective outrage over this very real threat to excellent Patriot Journalist Patrick Christys and his family, in sharp contrast to their sneering over the very real threat to excellent Patriot Journalist Tommy Robinson and his family.
It isn’t entirely clear to me on whose side the authorities are.
Can we be sure that they want to defend this man and his family when he is embarrassing the state establishment with his reporting?
Masses migration still seems to be the official policy of the state and it’s establishment, at least in practice it is.
If I were him I wouldn’t assume the state wants to protect him. Just as Farage didn’t and had to get his own protection.
We are more tracked and under surveillance and subject to restrictions we are told for our own good to keep us safe yet organised gangs are able to operate with considerable success. Think how much worse it would be without all the extra state control and power.
