Dr Anthony Fauci has been found in contempt of Congress and could now be referred to the Department of Justice for prosecution, in an escalation of the case against the top Covid doctor. The Mail has the story.
In a party line vote in the House Senate Homeland and Governmental Affairs Committee, lawmakers moved to continue their crusade against Fauci following an explosive hearing on Capitol Hill last week.
Fauci refused to answer over 100 questions asked of him by invoking the Fifth Amendment. GOP lawmakers probed him about his time as the nation’s leading infectious disease specialist, and the guidance he recommended during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The night before the contempt vote, the Senate committee obtained Fauci’s Covid-era phone. It’s a major development in the Republican-led investigation of the doctor, and could be crucial to understanding how public health officials made decisions during the pandemic.
But Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul said that due to Fauci’s pardon – that ex-President Joe Biden gave him – the Fifth Amendment protection wouldn’t apply.
“I ordered him to answer and warned him about contempt, yet he still refused. That is obstruction of a congressional investigation. The Committee will act accordingly,” Paul stated.
Paul said on Thursday that all Fauci had to do “was tell the truth” and the contempt vote wouldn’t have been necessary. Meanwhile, Democrat Gary Peters called the vote a “witch hunt” and an unnecessary escalation.
The Republican has indicated that he plans to immediately refer Fauci to the Department of Justice for potential legal action.
Fauci’s refusal to provide any answers incensed Republicans keen on getting to the bottom of the public health crisis.
During his opening statements on Capitol Hill in last week’s hearing, Fauci accused Paul of having an “unhinged obsession” with him.
And several moments went off the rails.

This is huge….but once again msm chose to blank the story. The Covid house of cards is collapsing. Many will finally be brought to justice.
And yet here in the UK……the covid inquiry drags on wasting your taxes and sadly, despite the testimony of evidence based medicine, Dr. Carl Heneghan. In fact the “lawyer” representing the state made it his mission to embarrass Dr. Heneghan, by repeating an unflattering comment about Dr. Heneghan, made by another. If this is the level of defense the state uses…..Britain I send my condolences. Hitting below the belt has always been seen as cowardly.
I am enjoying watching him squirm….popcorn time.
Biden gave Fauci a preempted pardon on his exit from the presidency, so they knew back then that he had been up to no good
The only unhinged person is Fauci. He is accountable for so many wrong decisions in response to covid.
Glad I’m not his life insurer, I sense a big payout incoming.
It seems to me it is very bad politics for the Democrats to oppose investigations into untruths told to Congress and the American people by a senior member of the swamp.
Such action ties them to the swamp against Congress and the people. It ties them to the absurdities of the response to Covid. these will cause them a lot of trouble in future.
remember half the usa are staunch democrats and do as they gaslit. and people will be reluctant to think they were wrong about COVID hysteria. risk to democrats for this issue low. other risks are there though.
If only the other half of the country would see the lies, this would already be a huge breakthrough. During the height of the COVID hysteria, critics were very much in the minority.
Couldn’t happen to a nicer bloke.
Deserves all he gets, he’s been trouble for decades.
This needs to go all the way, and bring this narcissist mass murderer to justice. It was not just under the “Covid” scam he caused mass death and suffering, he was also instrumental during AIDS and the use of deadly treatments.
Being 85, should not get him off the hook, he knew what he was doing, and reveled in the adoration and “fame”.
He can also be charged by US States and under Civil charges – and he should.
Just wish we had someone in the UK doing the same for all those that betrayed their positions and trust!
Where is our Rand Paul?
I doubt this will go very far in getting Fauci convicted or jailed. But it will make his life really unpleasant. The process will be the punishment.
This seems a lot like what the Dems did with Trump – drag him through as many courts as they could to try to destroy him even if just through the process.
Bet he keeps all the money though!
Quite so. Crimes against humanity. There’s far more for Fauci to answer for than Covid. Age should not preclude justice – his case is reminiscent of former Nazis hiding in plain sight.
The British establishment excel at the encirclement of their wagons.
