A mother has been hit with a ‘hate incident’ report by police after failing to call her ‘transgender child’ by their new name, records show. The Mail has the story.
The case was reported to police after the youngster complained to teachers, and officers decided that no crime had been committed.
Despite this, they logged it as a non-crime hate incident (NCHI). It is unclear whether officers visited the family or just took down details in case the row escalated.
The spat was revealed as part of a wider probe into NCHIs, which were axed in March amid calls for the police to focus on crime.
More than 500 were recorded in England and Wales in a month last September, and the true number is expected to be far higher.
The Sun reported that 15 of 44 forces, including London’s Met Police refused to reveal details or said the costs of doing so would be too high.
Dyfed-Powys Police – which handled the trans row in Wales – logged six NCHIs, including one about Welsh flags on street furniture.
There were also several complaints over St George’s flags, including one filed to West Yorkshire Police, which branded them “distasteful”.
In Wiltshire, a child called police after a stranger told them off for saying “sidewalk” rather than “path”. The adult allegedly told them: “You’re not in America. Speak your language.”
Meanwhile, a shop customer in Bournemouth complained to police after he was labelled crazy for shouting “hallelujah”. He said he felt “discriminated against for his religious beliefs”.
Logging the incident, police wrote: “The hate box local qualifier has been ticked.”

To be fair, as it didn’t seem to mention whether it was a boy or a girl, the term ‘their’ name would be correct here. However, I share your intense irritation at the use of it for people who pretend to be neither male or female. I have a friend whose son (decided he was ‘non binary’) treated her with contempt when she omitted to use the bizarre name he’d given himself. Never mind that she raised him, loved him, continued to give him a roof over his head (he is an adult) – made my blood boil…

Police should have sternly informed the whingers that it is PERFECTLY LEGAL to fly ANY NATIONAL FLAG from anywhere in the world, and the National Flags of England and Scotland are officially recognized as the National Flags of those two of the four nations of the UK.

That stranger was simply showing his own IGNORANCE OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE, like many who sneer at “Americanisms” without realizing that they are often older ENGLISH TERMS that have been preserved in the former US colonies, such as the word “sidewalk”, which originated with Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens in London, where there were broad “main walks” and narrower “SIDE WALKS”.

Ah, but ‘linda’ is the Portuguese for “pretty” and the Spanish wouldn’t like to have a common word.
“Linda” means “pretty” in older Spanish, carried to South America and preserved there, while the Spanish spoken in Spain changed, just as English spoken in England changed, while many older English words are still preserved in the former North American colony of the US.
It also means “pretty” in the Portuguese spoken in Portugal and the Portuguese spoken in Brazil, as well as the Spanish spoken in many South American countries.

Children should not be able to make such changes without their parent’s approval. Besides, we get used to calling family and friends by particular names and it does not imply any lack of civility to continue to do so.
The child is either disturbed by medical causes, medication or by teachers and social workers using him/her as an experiment.
And the child has certainly behaved like a nasty piece of work towards its mother. The trans phenomenon seems to have brought out the worst aspects of human nature.

Talking of England flags, I am pleased to report in a rare piece of good news that our local Sainsbury’s has chosen to festoon their checkouts with England flags, presumably in connection with the World Cup.
Likewise Tesco. A large flag of England hanging just inside the ‘anti-shoplifting’ entrance gates/turnstiles. I don’t follow football so it was a bit surprising to me.

Amazing! Our local Sainsburys didn’t do anything except sell some England Flag bunting, but that’s more than I thought they would do.
My town is predominantly White British and reasonably non-woke so that might have had an influence – hope they don’t get a bollocking from some twat at Head Office, if the initiative was local.

No doubt the police will conclude that this Sainsbury’s branch is run by far-right, racist, misogynistic, transphobic bigots and the manager will have to be sent for reeducation.
Whereas a normal person will conclude it’s related to a significant football tournament.
I will keep an eye on it. We do have some non-white people here and some non-British whites, but they seem fairly well integrated to me, possibly because there is not enough of any one group of them sufficient to have formed into a little enclave or ghetto. We had a black kid in my primary school class and a couple of Indians and a Spaniard at secondary school – I don’t think anyone cared where they were from or what colour they were, it was never overly mentioned by teachers or pupils and what friction there was between them and everyone was else was just whatever normal stuff happens between kids of all sorts. Almost as if having small numbers of non-natives and not making a big thing of it is a recipe for making a slightly multi-racial society work.
